Hi, do you want to know why the "Barcelona Bunkers" (they are actually called Búnkers de Carmel) were closed and you had to jump the fence? Cause they were so overrun by tourists, who were pissing everywhere, leaving their garbage and breaking stuff that the city council were forced to close them to protect the neighbors. So maybe take it easy on the insider tip talk and don't suggest to your viewers that they can just jump in anywhere they like, even if it's fenced off. Just an advice, cause that could cause trouble with the locals.
You're right about the poor service thing though, it's exhausting.

Parc Guell is incredible and it was a highlight to our trip to Barcelona a couple years ago. But we were able to walk right in and get tickets! We were there in high season and had no idea how lucky we were.

Great video! However, you primarily visited tourist restaurants. There are hundreds of places that offer much better food and service. Consider exploring where the locals dine for a more authentic and pleasant experience. The culinary scene in Barcelona is absolutely mind blowing.

The waiters are just not asskissers because they don't need tips to get by, that's the difference. If you thought Barcelona had bad service wait for France, specially Paris...
I very much prefer european style waiters than USA style where they are coming every 5 minutes to check on you. If I need something I will call the waiter, easy.

I went to Barcelona in January-it wasn’t too hot and wasn’t that crowded!!! the best time to go there ,but park guel is soo overhyped in my opinion,Monserrat is the best place to go near the city ,I made multiple video series on my channel:)

Travelled to 65 countries so far, lived in 7 of them (cities = Paris, London, Istanbul, Mumbai, Manila, Jakarta, Sydney), now living in Barcelona since 2018 and I find it everything but boring. Best way to tell is to experience it yourself, not just through vids (although Christian's content is ace imo).

Actions like that is what causes the anti-tourist movement growing and growing in many countries. By the way, going to Barcelona and missing the chance to eat at the actual world's best restaurant, COMPARTIR, is a crime. If you ever come back again, forget Harry's and go to Le Cucine Mandarosso for instance, a way much better(not sponsored)

Have a trip planned to Barcelona in September and am strongly considering proposing to my girlfriend. Anyone have any suggestions? I would prioritize scenery and somewhere quiet and not overcrowded (understanding this very well may be impossible in the Barcelona city center)
As a local, I can assure you it’s quite hard to find places that aren’t overcrowded… He showed the must visit places in the video but I can recommend going to El laberinto de Horta if you’re looking for a quieter place that is still romantic for a proposal and not as touristy!

Why don’t you do backpacking anymore like how u started out? Everyone can’t afford luxury hotel and restaurant when traveling but enjoy backpacking.

I lived in barcelona for a year. How many resturants have you tried? I think you cant gice advice unless you visited at least 100 resturants, maybe give advice but not say its the best one.

6:45 I am from Barcelona, and let me tell you that if they attend in an unpleasant way it is because the hospitality industry is VERY underpaid. The amount of hours you work for a lousy salary is shameful. Barcelona may seem like a wonderful city, but that is only one of the many precarious situations that the natives have to endure due to the mass tourism. And when they tell you it’s full, it’s because it really is.
I know what you say it's totally true, wages in the service sector are precarious in Spain, but it's not customer's fault. They are actually paying overpriced food to be treated like 💩. I work in service with tourists and I always smile at them and try to make the best of their experience. They are on holidays, and us as employees are paid to serve them with respect (doesn't matter if it's over or under payed).

No wonder you had to go outside of Barcelona to make the video wothwhile! The reality of Barcelona is quite different. The city is very dirty, the crime rate is very high, service is terrible almost everywhere, people are not very friendly, traffic is crazy, everything is under construction (and they're very very slow with it!), and there are way too many tourists. I lived there for 9 years, escaped it recently to a village closeby and cannot be happier I don't live there anymore.
Interesting, I was shocked by your comment. My wife and I got married in Barcelona. We took 4 trips there leading up to our wedding. Granted, we never lived there but found the city to be exactly the opposite of your comments. I grew up in NY and have lived in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and currently Houston. To me, Barcelona is way nicer than any of those cities.
Stayed for a month and agree 100 percent. It is a disgusting city that smells like shit from the sewers, and people that piss in the streets. Skip this place!

Good question! i live in Barcelona since 4 Years, but i never dared to fly my drone in the city.
It's totally forbidden, the airport it's pretty close and there are other restrictions. You need permits for flying drones, but those drone shots are stock videos. He didn't need to fly the drone to have them. Smart choice

There have been restrictions for a few months because of the massive amount of disrespectful tourists visiting… You can go during the day but they are closed before sunset!
