What parable can we find for the Kingdom of God? Homily for the 11th Sunday in Ordinary Time.

Parables are a form of analogy that seek to illuminate one reality by appealing to something better known. Today’s two parables are about the Kingdom of God, and to help the people understand something about God’s kingdom Jesus uses the image of a seed. In one story the farmer plants a seed, but its growth is out of his hands. The second story is about the tiny mustard seed that grows into a large bush.
