- The Megyn Kelly Show host Megyn Kelly has called out Beyonce following the latest release of her country music album ‘Cowboy Carter’.
“She’s not a queen - people like her music, she sings some good music, that’s it, she didn’t cure cancer,” Ms Kelly told Sky News host Paul Murray.
“Country music’s been around for a long, long time, it goes right to the heart of America and most Americans in red states have been loving and enjoying it long before ‘Queen B’ decided to stick her big toe into the lane.
“She makes an album which of course because she’s queen has got the thumbs up and promotion from Michelle Obama, from Vice President Kamala Harris.”
Ms Kelly blasted Beyonce for getting “her hands” on the song ‘Jolene’ by Dolly Parton.
“God, forbid she sing anything that makes anything look less than all empowered with the muscle,” she said.
I will never understand how these celebrities think they are king and queens. How stupid are their fans? Actually I don’t want to know.

Take a page from the late Whitney Houston’s playbook. Miss Houston took a very popular Dolly Parton song, “I Will Always Love You,” put her own twist to it, and still maintained the integrity of the song. Now that’s a Queen move.

It's storytelling through music. There's a beautiful song on the album about a mother promising to protect their child for as long as they can. There are also a couple of great love songs. The album shows a range of different ways to be empowered.

That's a literal quote from historians who state that and it's under every source that comes up BECAUSE IT WAS DOCUMENTED WHEN IT HAPPENED. You can't just claim our cultures music is yours when it isn't and is widely documented historically in great length and detail that is made known everywhere to prove that. Younwould know that if you were from our culture who invented country music and has been historically documented since the 1900s or just educated on American history at its bare minimum. Show respect for our cultures history on our own music and where it originated from rather than shamefully embarrassing yourself in trying to claim another culture amd their history of their music that doesn't remotely belong to you just because we invented a genre which jas cultural and meaningful significance you wish yours had. Envy for us is a terrible affliction. Have you no shame to try and cla an entire cultures history of music yours took no part in therefore, don't even belong to? What kind of person does that? Darius Rucker sings country and I love his voice. He’s black. Country isn’t a “whites only” genre. I can understand people being upset about the lyrics being significantly changed in the song. But I think that would be upsetting if a white woman was doing it too.
I can understand people being upset when characters that are traditionally white are replaced with poc actors (ex. Snow White not being white), it plays into an agenda. Beyoncé is Texan born and bred so it makes sense that she released a country or country inspired album. Taylor Swift was born in Pennsylvania and grew up in New Jersey before making her debut in Nashville. Never saw anyone complaining about Tay Tay doing country.
