Actually an aftermarket exhast will provide more airflow to the engine giving you better acceleration. For maximum performance however you will need to rejet your carb.
Yeah think the same Alex. At 350 - 400 +/- bucks. I was hoping for a little more power gain combined with an air intake system of some sort. On dirt bikes, cars, and trucks, modifying an exhaust adds hp. FMF and Pro Circuit pipes have some Ruckus pipes and I would back that their products would add hp or have some acceleration differences at least. But I don't see any Dyno stats so its hard to decide what to buy.

Sounds like it’s running a little lean due to the crackling and popping at the top of the rpms rekey would be recommended

You loose a little bit of power but its not dangerous

what year is it? did you have to rejet?
Mine is an 02... but all the model years are the same
Did it drop your lap times?
