When you scratch your car, either take it to a professional who knows what they are doing, or do it yourself and put up with a lousy job. Never let someone do it for you in a carpark.
This guy knew what he was doing. This is also done on blending colors for repairs. Wet sanding is a must. The paint must dry then die. The unprepared area, the paint will be rubbed off. This is basic auto paint repair. Judge fked up.
@@Adam01Time I understand that, but you are dealing with people who want things done on the cheap. Here in Australia there used be a company that ran franchises doing exactly this work.
I got scammed by one of those guys saying they can fix my “ dent” for $30.00. It went up to over $150.00 and I ended up calling the police. Nothing came of it. I ended up paying professionals in a real body shop to fix it. I learned my lesson.
I got ‘got’ by a guy who said he could remove a few scratches on my car. He just smeared a light green putty on some scratches, told me it would fill in and could buffed smooth after a few hours. I ended up with that light colored putty making my scratches stand out even more. Fortunately he didn’t do any sanding or painting. I would not have agreed to that though. But he got me by first suctioning out a dent beautifully. And he pointed out a couple of scratches that the putty wouldn’t work for. @@mcc_1993? That's literally how you fix it. Sand the scratches out, spray paint then blend. The only "scam" is the paint wont match is cause it's generic color.
It's a scam because they are soliciting their business on someone else's property. A lot of times this happens when you park your car in the parking lot, and when you come back out from the store you see them come up to you saying there's a scratch on your car and they can fix it. The funny thing is, they were probably the ones who scratched your car and are trying to get money from you by their own crime
Plaintiff is NOT lying. I, too, have been approached a couple of times by the same guy in two different parking lots offering to fix the rear bumper on a car I had been driving. I immediately told him, "no thanks".
The Defendant says that the Plaintiff said he's DEA. Plaintiff denies it and happens to work in law enforcement? Both litigants are slimy. I wonder how many times the Plaintiff has improperly used his job credentials.
BUT THE PLANTIFF WAS A CROOK TOO! He wants to paint his whole car for free! What a crook! The judge didn't buy it! GOOD JUDMENT. I like to watch her! She's the best!

What gives paint it's color is pigment and it's in the form of things known as "Solids". The problem with paint from a spry can is that the actual size, at a microscopic level, of the solids is very tiny when compared with actual automotive paint and sprayed from an actual spray gun. The chemical makeup is also different. Spray cans are "Ready to Use" and have long shelf lives. Professional paint is stored in pigments and mixed with reducers, activators, catalysts and hardeners and will only last a short time after mixed in most cases. Bottom line is that they are far more durable and will cover a lot more than the stuff in a spray can. The gray looking paint on the plaintiff's door is classic of what happens to spray paint when exposed to the sun for a little while, especially if it's sprayed really thin. The only time using spray paint will last for any period at all is if it is top coated with professional style clear coat, not spray can clear coat. Even then it tends to fade much faster. Stick with the real stuff if you care about the looks of your car and you will be much more satisfied.
@@PlugJh There are plenty of places that will mix paint in aerosol cans but it isn't the same paint. But you probably know more than me since I have zero clue what I'm talking about and the last 35 years working in the auto body industry was just time wasted.
First of all, the defendant doesn't even have an actual shop and the plaintiff has rocks in his head for even entertaining allowing this guy to fix the damage.
Spray can paint is enamel which you can't buff out to do it right you spray black base coat then clear the whole door. In some cases you can blend the clear instead of painting the whole panel but you may have problems later on

I was in a Vons parking lot and I've had dents removed in minutes for a hundred dollars. I think the dent removal is legit, but the scratch removal seems entirely fraudulent.
