'Some say he died ... codswallop in my opinion. Don't think he had enough human left in him to die' Is such an underrated line by Hagrid. he literally predicted the horcruxes; Voldemort didn't have all of his soul left in him so he couldn't die. And especially since Hagrid isn't technically educated and isn't seen as one of the wiser characters.

“Of course it is happening inside your head, Harry, but why on earth should that mean that it is not real?” I've always read it like a meta message to the reader. Because when you're reading the book and imagine all the things that you are reading, the story is literally happenning in your head! And it's nice to think that it all exist somehow, all aventures, all characters and places, are for a brief moment real, in a certain way. Even before we knew all the details from later books, that line stood out to me from the first time I read it. It's rather heartwarming, really. It was from that moment that Dumbledore knew that there was a way to save Harry's life and still ensure that Voldemort could be defeated. Up until then, he really did feel like he was "raising him like a pig for slaughter." I can just imagine him hearing Grindlewald's voice in his head all the way up to that point, "For the greater good."

It has to be Dumbledore's gleam of triumph in the eye.
“For a fleeting instant, Harry thought he saw a gleam of something like triumph in Dumbledore's eyes. But next second, Harry was sure he had imagined it, for when Dumbledore had returned to his seat behind the desk, he looked as old and weary as Harry had ever seen him.”
Now if we are talking quotes specifically it has to be " Remember, if the time should come when you have to make a choice between what is right and what is easy, remember what happened to a boy who was good, and kind, and brave, because he strayed across the path of Lord Voldemort. Remember Cedric Diggory"
Cedric was not a good or bad person he was an innocent person murdered by voldemort. Its the turning point of the franchise. And Dumbledore is saying this knowing the ministry will essentially crucify his and harrys reputation for it. It does not matter. Do what is right, not easy.

I think Harry knowing that he won't die would not affect it, but as mentioned in the book, when Harry does the big reveal speech in the final duel he says that by meaning to die he also cast sacrificial protection on Hogwarts (as seen by the fact that after that no "good guy" dies, and Voldemorts Curses have no lasting effect). This most likely would not have happened if he knew he wouldn't die, so not telling Harry was actually not just for Harrys best, but instead for entire Hogwarts best.

Despite having just said that he's hiding somewhere so sneaky the Dementors will NEVER find him. So I was just imagining Fudge casually writing a letter to Sirius, sending it off on a random owl, and then tracking that owl as it finds him for them.
Then when he gets there he realizes that Sirius managed to trick the owl by having it send the letter to a random black dog instead of to Sirius :P

Obviously this was not actually an example of it, but when you didn't know everything, it could feel a little bit uncertain at times, and even _after_ you knew everything, it was like, "Okay, so...he was a little bit cold and calculating at times, but it was clear that he did have a heart, and in the end he was a massive force for good." Definitely a complex and interesting person.

This one line sends Voldemort on a murdering spree, and Dumbledor starts looking for and planing on how to prepare "The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord". Because he (Dumbledore) understands he himself can not kill/defeat Voldemore. And poor Harry looses so much early in his life, his parents and having to live with the Dursley's while beeing tormented for 10 years, without knowing why. And the next seven years at Hogwarts Voldemort continues to try and kill Harry and his friends, and Dumbledore continues to protect and guide Harry so he can defeat and kill Voldemort. Because "And either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives". The most imortant line in all the books.
