Honestly, the analogy of adding Waluigi as a party character to the party fighter game tracks with how they want some characters to reference certain media.

Considering how successful the remake has been, it doesn't seem impossible anymore, especially when he can get f***ing Sora in the game.
@@HelloSayEm6I heard during SSB Brawl's development Sakurai tried to get Geno, but Square wouldn't allow it for whatever reason. There were datamines of files like "Beware of the Mushroom Forest" that clearly shows he tried to accomplish that years ago.

The only reason Waluigi was created is because Wario need a partner in the sports. So Sakurai has a hard time taking him seriously.
The reason Fire Emblem Fates has a disappointing story, is because it had a very problematic development. Funny Fact FE Fates was released on the FE anniversary. So it kinda suffers from Sonic 06 disorder.
Corrin(s) was pretty good. Just not the flood of FE characters.
@@EuroSpecJDM Fire Emblem is an RPG, a genre that usually loved in Japan. The issue is that FE in sales is just ok compared to Tales of and Monster Hunter. Problem is Lyold and Monster Hunter are Mii costumes. So Nintendo probably wanted more FE in Smash to compensate.
Sakurai usually chooses characters that are the easiest to transfer rather than just what’s popular.
@@orangeslash1667 Sakurai is for the Japanese Audience. He works on what he wants and how it appeals in Japan. Not Western countries.

I'm neutral with Corrin, but both FE and Mario are overrepresented, so Waluigi would just get as much hate as Corrin if he was in Corrin's seat.
Also there are quite many unused fighting themed games like Golden Sun and Murasame Castle, so I don't think NIntendo have to prefer FE just for that reason. More likely because FE has more new games to promote.
