I love Jimmy Carr’s response to being cancelled, which is to say “I’m sorry” very sarcastically. When critics complain that he obviously doesn’t mean it, he’ll say “Oh, so it’s possible to say something with a tone that shows you don’t really mean it?
He’s been doing these jokes for decades. Nobody is cancelling him. It’s a bit weak to try and create tension with a trick like this. Maybe some people will tweet about it? Uh oh!
Nobody cancels comedians. Get real. Their job is to say out of pocket funny things. If they can't do that they can't live, so WHY do comedians exist if they can get canceled for things they say on stage?
As a member of the alphabet mafia myself, I really think this man has one of the best senses of humor ever. I love that he pokes fun without being hateful, and we need more comedians that are willing to step into this territory.
I've never heard a more appropriately phrase to describe the rainbow community. They will socially murder anyone who doesn't fall in lock step with them.
They've been cancelling people for a lot longer and for many reasons. When I was growing up, I was not allowed to say that I am an atheist (or be told I'd go to hell), there was no permission to mention or support abortion. Look up Lenny Bruce for information on cancelling comedians.
istg it’s so annoying. the only comedians who sometimes get canceled are the ones who appeal to a broader audience and then start telling offensive jokes.
It's not offensive, making jokes about it as a comedian is very supportive, treating it like it's normal and how any other comedian would do jokes with anyone. That's a good comedian
kinda true. jimmy does it well here, but a routine from someone like a Dave Chapelle may be a lot more harmful. it stops being funny when it stops being a joke.
There is very different between doing jokes like this guy does, and being Dave Chapelle who is -openly- vitriolic to LGBT people and specifically trans people. There is making jokes about something, and negatively mocking something to intentionally hurt someone.

But the psychologist doesn't need me to explain to him i exacavated 20m3 of soil put conncrete the chemist did soso etc he's just trying his best to ignore me so he can finish painting the wall.
My point i guess is that be it "apparently" low or high form of comedy, low doesn't mean inferior and certainly not easier.
Go on. Jimmy had like 5 seconds to come up with this if thay was an inpro. Give yourself 1 hour and see if you can make a 1 liner half as funny.
He almost certainly worked hours on it in advance which is why he has a hard time.stayong on point, he knows where thats going he made it up because it made him laugh and he's already amused by the idea of whats gonna follow
@alexisjuillard4816 need to get you up on stage 😂 I thoroughly enjoyed reading that. As a construction worker, the crane example was actually on point. As someone who's not a geologist, rock people are absolutely a danger to society
This is what we want bruh, make your jokes, just don't make the punchline an attack. I love Jimmy Carr he does this shit RIGHT.
fr
Exactly, respect and laugh together
@@Strwrsgrl01 What's also important to remember is that if the punch line is an attack, it's usually not that fuckin funny anyway 🤦♂
Jimmy likes to joke, but he seems like a nice person.
Yes!
He jokes while being respectful! That's what makes this awesome
That's actually pretty rare for Jimmy Carr. He's super offensive lol.
@@andrewbaker3576 nah he honestly just says that he’s super offensive. or whatever he says is diminished because he goes “i’m soooooo offensive” before every punchline
"My pronouns are hehehe... because I identify as a comedian".... SO good!!🤣😂
He makes fun of trans people without being transphobic
That's a skill right there
@Shadow_ball to let people know you are a needless jerk?
Who the eff is scared of a trans person? It's mostly soy boys with a wig and silly looking makeup and blue or red glasses. They (Ze?) are comical.
that was a non binary joke 💀 not a trans one
@Shadow_ball Your comments online will outlive you yknow... be the man your family would want history to reflect well on
@@tomtativehe will be. Imagine being the guy who was 100% on board with pseudoscience and child mutilation. History won't look back on the trans nonsense as something to be proud of.
I saw this show live. It was amazing. Jimmy's crowd work is unmatched
You're just lying to make friends.
@@strawberrycough22cry some more

@jamalcamogus9058
Man, you guys are morons. It's an endearing expression designed to poke fun at a commenter since people lie all the time. How would I know if it's true or not?
I posted this on a comedians clip, not in parliament hall.
I love Jimmy Carr’s response to being cancelled, which is to say “I’m sorry” very sarcastically. When critics complain that he obviously doesn’t mean it, he’ll say “Oh, so it’s possible to say something with a tone that shows you don’t really mean it?
actually really clever
That's fantastic
He’s been doing these jokes for decades. Nobody is cancelling him. It’s a bit weak to try and create tension with a trick like this. Maybe some people will tweet about it? Uh oh!
Nobody cancels comedians. Get real. Their job is to say out of pocket funny things. If they can't do that they can't live, so WHY do comedians exist if they can get canceled for things they say on stage?
The way he delivers that first joke gets me every time 😂
Jimmy is comedy genius ! What a living legend !
As a member of the alphabet mafia myself, I really think this man has one of the best senses of humor ever. I love that he pokes fun without being hateful, and we need more comedians that are willing to step into this territory.
Should consider getting out of that mafia 😭
literally like I'm bi and use they them but this made me laugh😭
No one gets to tell functional society what's considered hateful or funny. Least of all the alphabet asylum.
I've never heard a more appropriately phrase to describe the rainbow community. They will socially murder anyone who doesn't fall in lock step with them.
So... it's official.
This is organised crime.
Thanks for the update.
As long as there is the space for humour, WE'll work it out.
As a queer person I endorse this funny comedian
Thanks queer person!

Comedy in 2050: "I will get cancelled for this" *breathes without consent*
They've been cancelling people for a lot longer and for many reasons. When I was growing up, I was not allowed to say that I am an atheist (or be told I'd go to hell), there was no permission to mention or support abortion. Look up Lenny Bruce for information on cancelling comedians.
@@rosemarybishop5776 don't forget what happened to people who were called communist lol, if anything the canceling is coming from the old people
istg it’s so annoying. the only comedians who sometimes get canceled are the ones who appeal to a broader audience and then start telling offensive jokes.
As a trans person, this was funny as shit
As another trans person, I one hundred percent agree.
As yet another trans person, I concur.
@@VelvetSkyyemen wanting to be women is ignorant as hell and getting praised and accolades for having gender dysphoria is wild!
@@VelvetSkyyewaaaa waaaaa... Cry
@@dinethrathsara3246 they aren't wrong tho, he's just a respectless individual, sorry you grew up not knowing what that it. Being trans, and other genders doesn't hurt people, doesn't make anyone else feel less of them selves. So it's not being "logical" it's being disrespectful
I'm a non-binary transfeminine person and you made my day sir!😂 I wish more people would be able to make such funny jokes on the LGBTQ+ community with respect to our community exactly like you did❤🏳️🌈
How to laugh at everything by staying respectful. This guy is a king 🫡
Saying you respect someone doesnt mean you are being respectful if you’re literally calling people “it” and “gross”
I absolutely love him!! So weirdly adorable and just fudging funny!!
That was classy and hilarious
Thank you for making clean jokes about these topics.
DIDN'T GET THE FIRST ONE THE FIRST TIME UNTIL PEOPLE LAUGHED...

Once a friend of mine said "does that mean you use hexadecimals?" And it still makes me smile
What made you decide to be non binary?
@@IsraelMedrano i guess i found out more than "decided", i was in denial for quite a while, same with being bi.
It just feels right ig, but with pronouns literally anything is fine except "it" or those weird neopronouns i genuinely don't understand is fine, also because in italian (my language) there is no equivalent for the gender neutral "they".
@@bojkotluca9965the first joke was weak and was popular a decade ago 😂 nothing he said was original! Or even close
So does non binary means that you were not born with XX or XY chromosome right ?
Ok That hexadecimal thing make me almost spit. That is Brilliant bit of nerd humor.
This guy shows that you can make jokes and be funny WITHOUT punching down. The trans community never said you can't make jokes. They would just rather they be funny and not mean spirited. There is a difference between being funny and using your platform to confirm your disapproval and hatred of a group of people or their lifestyle
You can punch down because they're just jokes....
To be funny is to appeal to someone's sense of humour and a sense of humour is entirely is subjective...
@user.--. no. That's not punching. Punching down is being offensive for the sake of it, especially towards marginalized groups. There's a stark difference between telling funny jokes and punching down.
Best example of the one conservative joke that I've ever seen. "He he he" is actual wordplay, which is a step up from how it's usually told.
He preceded that joke with "I will call you whatever you want to be called, I'll treat you with respect always." How's that a conservative joke?
@@RafaelKeveluk The "my pronouns are joke X, I identify as joke Y" bit is a formulation of joke known in many places on the internet as "the one conservative joke." It's like "The Aristocrats," but most of the people doing it aren't riffing on it as a bit. Pretty sure Jimmy Carr was here, though, seeing as how he's a professional.
As in, because they're not usually allowed to be told?
@@TheJourneyDude Are you asking if I think that conservatives aren't allowed to tell jokes? Because I don't think that. If conservatives weren't allowed to tell jokes, then how would we know that they only have the one?
@@ryle4h I don't think that they shouldn't be allowed.. But fuck me do they need to stop funding shitty comedians. I went to a new doctor one time. In the new patient packet they questioned what your pronouns were. I wrote that if the doctor is not smart enough to figure out what pronouns to use by my name and my appearance, she was not smart enough to be my doctor. The thought crossed my mind that they quite possibly would refuse to see me. But they did see me and the ladies at the front desk got a big kick out of it. I used that doctor for years!!

As a Trans Woman, I Support This, because he is making it a point that he still will be respectful by addressing people how they want to be addressed, because a lot of people see respecting trans people as not doing anything, including not using the correct pronouns, including my dad
Plus, he is funny
“Non-binary”
“10 pronouns”

I'm trans and I'm gonna be telling these jokes to everybody! Bravo Jimmy for doing it perfectly! I laughed for a solid ten minutes with this on loop.
Nobody has ever tried to cancel this dude. He is fighting windmills and profiting and getting applause from it.

See this is how you make GOOD jokes about groups. He’s not being demeaning, he’s not saying anything cruel, and is able to make FUNNY jokes without useibg exessive slurs or punching down- in fact he’s not punching at all. Just pure, witty humor. (My pronouns are he he he got me cackling)
My pronouns are "BOOM, BRRRRRRR, BOOM!!" because I identify as an Attack Apache Helicopter with gatlins and heat seeking missiles.
Nothing should be off-limits in comedy. Even tragedy gets joked about, once society feels enough time has passed.
Yeah people lost their life’s for people to have the freedom to make the jokes, those highjackers really saved our comedy am I right
