      SATAN'S SON yes please! honestly, I love the creativity of all the names, but we NEED a guide. not all of us know what the author was thinking when he/she was writing the book.

      I pronounced 'Eijah' as AY-ya, with a silent 'j' because I thought that as a Thuvhesit name it was supposed to sound gentler. Boy was I wrong.

      Yeah, I pronounced Cyra “SEE-ruh”, Eijeh “Ay-jay”, and Thuvhe “THOO-vay”. It’s interesting how people interpret names in books differently! When I first read Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone when I was 7, I pronounced Hermione “HERM-ee-own”. Oh well!

    what's the origin of the names?
    they are quite wierd. i must say.
    it never ceases to amaze me how and from where does fantasy fiction authors come up with such strange names.

      The only name that was quite familiar was Akos which is a very popular hungarian name. About the others I have no idea. :)

    • @Bryony9
      @Bryony9 6 років тому +3

      RYZEK would be perfectly standard Czech surname and it means "ginger, as a colour". Another Czech inspired name would be NOAVEK - its Czech version "Novák" is the most common surname in the Czech Republic. AKOS sounds Greek. THUVHE sounds Finnish. :-)

    It would be useful if authors included IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet) transcription of their characters' names in the book. It frustrastes me a great deal when I am not able to know the correct pronunciation- for me it is sometimes the reason to put the book down. Studying English as a foreign language I know the IPA very well....so SORRY all you native speakers:-)
