Had this for about 3 weeks. Its amazing. I cant believe how smooth it is. And 23mph is plenty speed. Battery is decent too. And so comfortable. I had a ninebot max and this was definitely an upgrade.
Best scooter under $1000. I got rid of a Ninebot Max and now have both the KQi3 Pro and the Max. If the Max could go 30 mph and had a basic suspension it would be perfect. As it is now it’s *close to perfect*, especially given how inexpensive it is. NIU builds their scooters like little tanks and the build quality makes other brands look like flimsy jokes. I returned a Uscooters/E-TWOW GT Sport a few months ago and now realize how overpriced it was. I can’t wait to see what NIU will be bringing out next year.

FINALLY a review with some internal talk. A lot of scooter reviews seem to just say "YEAH IT'S GREAT GO BUY IT" without really explaining internals or longevity. Showing the internals and having some good stuff to say about how they've been wired up is a BIG plus from me. Really leaning toward this right now. thanks!
Just picked one up yesterday and got two Kqi2 models for my kids. So much fun!!! The only thing I wish it had was a pin code locking feature for my son who doesn't have a phone. His scooter is paired to my phone for now. Just want him to have the ability to lock it without a phone. Great video!
Or when ur phone dies on the road and you lock it by instinct.. yea I did it twice yesterday, after 2nd I carried that mf to Walmart for emergency portable charger
Great review buddy. Just got my Max in... first time scooter rider, it's been a blast. Don't think I will need to upgrade for a while, and for 750 it was a steal. What's up brother. Love this video. Def have my eye on this. Saving up for it actually. I'm halfway there. Should have the other half in a couple weeks. I can't wait. Unless you would maybe sell this one?
I just got this scooter about 4 days ago , best one ive had for the price . Only complaint i have about it is that we cant fully turn the headlight off during the day , i would imagine thats using more battery power
Hello, good review you done there ! But i advise you to not step to full gas on the hard hills it can damage really bad the motor and the battery. I used my electric scooter like this (my advise) and it done 1000 kms without losing any range or dead battery cells.
It's ok man I have 20,000+ miles I know what a scooter should be able to handle trust me. I am here to test them under heavy riding conditions so people know the scooter is legitimate.
If it's your first scooter I would get an entry level scooter like the Niu over the Mantis simply so you can learn for a bit your area and paths before you raise the risk by adding high speeds. But of course that is up to you if you are comfortable and already riding awhile then you can handle the mantis.
I will receive it tomorrow and really hope it climbs up the hills in my area. Otherwise I will have to ask for a refund for not doing what the specs say where I bought it
Great review as usual. Kudo to you for your professionalism in providing such a thorough review even on an entry level scooter. Being an experienced rider like you, one would expect that you will not be interested in touching anything that is not dual motors with insane speed.
I love my dual motor scooters, but let's be honest, most people are still in the beginning stages of their scooter journey. I think it's most important that new people have a good experience so that they become life long scooter riders! I'm beyond blessed and grateful to be able to try out a bunch of entry level scooters and help people make the correct decision, so they get that good experience that we all want!
Not everyone needs or wants a dual. Motor scooter I only have a 1,000 watt single motor scooter and I love it goes over 33 mph and 50 mile plus range. I thnik NIU makes nice Scooters.
Great video and very informative! We live around San Francisco with tons of hills. Will this one be a good entry choice on hills? Lastly, where do you take it for maintenance or flat tire repair? What is the average cost for regular break maintenance. Thanks. (Just subscribed to channel)
This will do decent on hills but nothing like a dual motor scooter to be completely honest. Brake maintenance is very cheap you're looking at brake pads every 500 miles that are about $10 on amazon. I would ask Niu about tire changes I think they have some repair centers you can ship it to or most people just do it their-self if you are capable.
@@ScootaGang damn, that's steep as hell XD. Yeah on camera looks like a 20% hill. On the way to my house there's a 12% hill, do you think the Max can handle it? I weigh 183lbs. Thank you!

You seem to like the way this scooter remembers the custom mode, but lacking the ability to toggle ESmode and Custom on the scooter is a downside, imo. I can't imagine having to push a button once after tunring on is a meaningful hassle, but being required to stop, hop off, open the app, and toggle settings in order to change into Esave mode is. Other than that, no issues I have.
Can't you just hit the power button to cycle through esave and normal mode? That's how it is on the new niu 300x. Getting a couple more nius this month, I will confirm it's the same on those.
@@ScootaGang On the NIU KQI1 Pro, it is like that. I would have to go into the app to enable custom first, and if I wanted to switch modes, the power button doesn't do anything and I have to go back to the app and turn it off.
@@ScootaGang Thank you for the reply. Under default settings, you can toggle 9mph/20mph, but once you enable dynamic mode to unlock the last bits of top end speed, you lose the ability to toggle Esave/"Normal" on the dash. Pedestrian mode still works, but switching between 9mph/24mph doesn't seem to be an option without using the app. If I'm wrong about this, I would love to know what I'm missing and will no longer have any complaints. It would be much simpler if it just added one more mode to toggle through, but it seems that's not the way of it. If the dash lighting is an issue, I tihnk they could shorten the E-SAVE indicator to make room for maybe a few single letter indicators. P/E/D/C, perhaps. Indicating Pedestrian/Esave/Default/Custom. Something like that seems quite simple to accomplish at no real extra cost once current stock is depleted.
@@xaldath4265 They might have already changed the display to allow for switching between E-Save and normal when dynamic is active without notice, not even updating the website which is why the 300X/P can change even though they have the same screen at a glance.
