It's so cool that the rotation speed is perfectly synchronized with the spawner's speed. You can see that it touches all the nodes when they come behind the cannon

Unity is a game engine tho, he could make anything he wants in it including things he usually makes in Algodoo and we wouldn't notice (unless you can tell the difference with the physics), right now looks like he's not bothering making it look like the rest of his stuff
This is definitely one of my most favorite combinations yet, the line concept is creative and when combined with core destruction provides for a fun and interesting experience which had me excited and on the edge of my seat for the whole round. I wouldn't mind if you made a few more videos on this unique variant of core destruction.
I absolutely loved how close it got at the end with one side almost getting the other but then the other firing a single line shot (in time with the music) and wiping out the first.
For all those concerned for their viewer experience: SPOILER AHEAD! IF YOU'RE SERIOUSLY CONCERNED ABOUT THIS CORE DESTRUCTION BATTLE IN ALGODOO'S ENDING, DO NOT READ THE FOLLOWING COMMENT!!! Man, it was painful to see all of the green's deflective wall projectiles simply get instantly sniped by the blue. Even more so when blue's walls almost every time hit the green.
yeah, I was thinking the same thing - and blue's stuff always seemed to get really good reflector angles while green's always ended up coming out at weird angles to make them not deflect back into blue when it did hit.
Only being able to hit the end points of each segment to actually deal damage, and it makes the AOE damage from the bombs all that more of a game changer!
It's really weird when a reflective line shot gets reflected The way a reflective line shot get reflected is when the point of the reflected line shot comes in contact with the reflected line of the other reflective line shot, only then will the reflective line shot be a reflected reflective line shot.
Aaah, nothing like a Mikan Core Destruction video to lighten up a day. That was one seriously lucky shot from the Blue. Great mechanics today. Love the whole "barrier knitting" thing.
My current favorite! There's much depth to few relatively simple mechanics, I loved that both defense & offense operated under the many of the same mechanical rules. Every individual projectile had me fully engaged, since the defense wasn't a simple HP wall. It was all about every unique timely interaction.
Day 1: So I've been told to invite Purple to help MIKAN test something experimental. He just gave us these cannons that makes lines and then built us cores. All MIKAN said after that was: "Destroy the opponent's core, Yellow. You too Purple." and then left us in to fight for a win. Well, best of luck, purple.
More and more, I'd love to play a core defender PvP game where you customize own build from all sorts of familiar mechanics, then prove it in a battle of growth, power, and defense. Battles could play automatically, expect for occasional player-activated powers to give some agency, or even swap mid-battle between modes that influence your marbles & slots.
the reflective line shot was really well balanced. It was super strong (easily the strongest item) but at the same time had a very easily exploitable weak point, which I think balanced it's power very well.
Yellow/Green side got the bad end of the stick with the reflective walls usually getting shot down and the laser moving the same way with the enemy instead of against it making it useless.
Line: used to protect the core Gun: shoots out a marble to disable the line Bomb: shoots a bomb to reflect more lines Reflective line: shoots out a reflective line to reflect marbles Laser: used to remove lines longer than a marble can Reflective line shot: shoots two marble in a line that reflects lines
Love the videos and this is one is absolutely fantastic. I struggled however with the green/orange color change for the reflective lines due to colorblindness. Those hues specifically are impossible for me to differentiate without light alteration.
SPOILERS AHEAD! and also for ultimate mix 2 now i know why green never appeared again at marble races, they got humilhated by pink at ultimate mixture 2 and then got defeated by a FRICKIN LINE.

because things are placed in position of spawner, but yes this is true

The thing I really like more in Algodoo than in Unity is the font, it's simplistic but not boring

this is easy to make in unity
you can use any font in unity, it's possible to find algodoo's ui font and use it in unity
But yeah, it would look nice with that font
You can change the Unity font

This is such a cool consept! Keep up the great ideas
The reflective line shot is a big useless at first, but it showed great power at the ending! Keep it up the great work, mikan!
it just with yellow, not purple
Yeah but it just one shot which is BIG OP

I call the stuff that hits the reflective lines treasonists
i love how it slowly makes a star with the nodes
Now this is what people mean when they say "Line of defense".
Yellow: Reflective Line Shot
Purple: haha precise edge snipe

I find it funny that the reflective line shots could be reflected

Yo, I've just noticed the most satisfying thing mankind has ever seen: the glowing dot always perfectly goes through all of the dots that it places.

ok but the tension and utilization of reflective line shots in that final stretch was amazing

You got to be kidding me yellow trying to get a comeback..
This was very one sided. Looking forward to the next

This is smart. The lines are indestructible (it seems) and the way to destroy them is to hit the nodes creating them.
I really wish Mikan did Algodoo tutorials, I really want to learn how to do this, it looks so fun
I love that You use One of my favorite music!
A whole new concept, and of course with the hardest scripting! Keep this up MIKAN!
It’s AWESOME!!!
Yes.
Mikan bringing "Defensive Line" to a literal level
no, youtube, this isn’t project arrhythmia.
'destroy the segments to remove the line walls'
Well, I remember this mechanics in a .io game
The idea of a line battle is so cool
Line: used to protect the core
Gun: shoots out a marble to disable the line
Bomb: shoots a bomb to reflect more lines
Reflective line: shoots out a reflective line to reflect marbles
Laser: used to remove lines longer than a marble can
Reflective line shot: shoots two marble in a line that reflects lines
The way that lines makes something like Constellation
Completely amazing
Very neat battle! I'm so addicted to watching these!

Nice Constellations
No surprise in the outcome as the pattern of movement favored the right side heavily.

green kept putting reflector line nodes in places where the node was exposed, but the line was blocked.
