Reto is allergic to standard builds in these videos and I'm all for it, the fortitude to just yeet your katana like that is admirable. You've helped me learn a lot about how to be better at this game!
So with a diamond island you can expect to get on average 140HP & 14HP/s. Since Tent City Retro-Mayor-tion basically got his at the start of day 7, he can expect (in the event of a flawless victory) to have 4 days of this average yield, which means he’s looking at about 560HP & 56HP/s. This is frankly an absurd amount of value. For the dedicated tank character, Pygmalian, to even get that much HP he’d need to find his unique level up reward which converts gold into health and spend a total of 23 gold- for Pyg that’s easy to get but for Vanessa and Dooley that sum is the result of two or three midgame PvE fights where they sold the reward item. The math gets more absurd with the regen. The monster loot item ‘Gland’ is the standard evaluation for the gold value of regeneration. At bronze/silver/gold/diamond it gives 2/4/6/8 but costs 2/4/8/16, meaning regen grows twice as fast as its cost. Therefore a hypothetical gland which gives56 regen would cost a whopping 128 coins up front.
Icebreaker would be great with cryosphere(med item) from dooley, cause it greatly charges the ice pick while the ice pick removed it's downside almost entirely
honestly crows nest is weird as well because it's the only item I can think of that just... Hard invalidates so many other normal choices in the game, Like either it pushes you mono-weapon and leaves you struggling against any kind of CC forcing you to take radiant if the option arises, or you go multiweapon and take it for the crit at which point... You have 75-100% crit, so you no longer need to invest in any other item or skill that gives crit. it makes investing in early crit chance as vanessa a weird choice Because you might pivot into crows nest and then it was a waste. Edit: also game gives you Dog, Still wants you to be Tent city mayor.
4:00 The silk gives Cove +2 Shield. In the next fight, it activates 10 times for an additional 20 shield than if it was not sold, but indeed, the fight was not close. Maybe if it was a burn dooley...
I might have earned the title of tent city mayor. I high rolled it on a random fight and got augmented weaponry upgraded so I was getting +2 damage on every sell
25:23 I actually had a reasonable run lock box I got it pretty early from a early silver shop and played a wide weapon board and added a substantial damage boost *like 37 or so” and it was a pretty good carry through mid game and cashed out quite into endgame not that bad but you need to find it early even then it’s situational
Portrait top right says if it's a character or monster item. Cryosleeve (the tunic) and Icebreaker are common items, hence why there is no character portrait.
On the subject of proposed crow's nest rework: sounds cool but also a possible programming nightmare. Imagining scenarios where crow's nest gets destroyed, does that remove the radiant effect on the weapon? What sorts of bugs does that introduce to the game? 🤔 Sounds fun tho
It would work the same as anything else that provides a temporary effect, it loses it. It wouldn't be an enchant, it would just be "your weapon can't be slowed / frozen". There are potential issues with it, but that isn't one of them imo.
To think you got both items without fighting Volkas Enforcer. I didn’t know you had a side hustle besides being a mayor.
Ever since Christmas Reto has been working in the ice cream shop at the mall.
He is Reto Volkas the Tent City Mayor.

Uno reverse card vs. Freeze and never fights a freeze build. That said you left a landmine for anyone with a freeze build trying to play, lol.
Everyone: "This website is useless, why would anyone use it"
Reto: "Hold my beer"
Love that Reto is still finding dope new builds!
Retro giving us the cold shoulder the last two videos.
"We have radiant at home" Icebreaker XD
That ice breaker monster will seriously mess you up if you don't take him out quickly. That perma freeze after like 15 seconds is gnarly.
Crazy how much stronger this build would be if he got a freeze item or incant.
this is one of the coolest builds i've seen
(Me seeing Reto sell the beta ray while knowing what the theme of the video will be)
"Nooooo!"

Honestly sick build, love the videos
Reto is never gonna beat the streamer seed allegations after this.
Given the thumbnail I was NOT expecting the run to become OP by day freaking 5 O_O
Stopwatch would be amazing in this build.
Wish this run would've gone longer to see how it could've scaled further

Imagine this with stopwatch and something like energy potion

Ciao Retro
Hola Retro

Ice to meet you!
I love the Bazaar because of junky stuff like this
Don't tell Trotsky
this game needs the ribbon system from superauto pets
Geez I wish I could get Cove first.
This build was a cook. Are these ice items from a future character? Feels like they got a thematic niche

Well it already gives an item lifesteal without enchanting it rn. It doesn't make a weapon obsidian after all
Early gang let's go
