Just a guess, with the past cards from this setting, being the source of this information... Casters that have been in Theros, include: druids, shamans, clerics, wizards, paladins and bards. Warlocks, rangers and sorcerers, I have no clue, there may or may not be. If you mean artificers as part of your question, I also haven't found any of that class on Theros. If you look at dnd lore in the Forgotten Realms Faerun(the main setting of dnd 3.5 and 5) there isn't really a difference between Arcane and Divine magic. All arcane magic comes from Mystra's weave. AJ Pickett Do they actually even know anything about you on a personal level? Or do they just comprehend your intire character and personality based solely on your taste in fantasy and fiction?
Arixmethes was destroyed because it's actually built on the back a slumbering kraken and one day it decided to wake up here's the card bud edhrec.com/commanders/arixmethes-slumbering-isle
It sounds interesting, but the biggest issue with the returned is you kind of trade in everything for a second chance at life. Like personality, memories, etc. The only thing that sticks with you is skills and muscle memory, for most returned anyways. So most of them sort of compulsively wander the realm of Theros, just kind of doing whatever it is they did best before they died.
Random question. Anyone had a player backstory where they were magically taken from our current world and dropped into main d&d settings? Had idea of a tabaxi druid bad guy, seeing our world as sign of how things will become if humans continue to multiply. Disguised as a housecat he/she transports a cat owner and environmental keyboard warriors or protesters into his/her homeworld. While also building for war on civilisation. Using AJ's pink ooze as a familiar he/she already has a tribe of ghost halflings out finding more allies and artifacts.
The players hand book accounts for it's own limited scope! Make your own background. Choose a couple of skills, a language and a tool and call it whatever you want. You can choose one of the ribbon abilities from the other backgrounds(I think D&DBeyond requires you to do this) or make your own.

Not a d&d player, but new settings would be great to see once I can find time to play. Next crossover definitely has to be Innistraad... Curse of Straad was close, but hoo boi depending on what era it's set it it could be pretty rough. Especially if they choose the eldrazi invasion
it's probably going to be zendikar
Both Zendikar and Innistraad have actually already been done as official 5e supplemental. Their popularity and success is why we got Ravnica and Theros. You can find several of the planes on WoTC website. Along with Ixalan/Kaladesh and others.
@@whcantrell3 yeah the planeshifts are pretty well known, i'm talking about an ACTUAL book for zendikar, no one is gonna play a setting out of pamphlet
@@yodanobunga9238 Not necessarily but I see your viewpoint. I just finished a Zendikar based campaign myself so the juices are still flowing.
I personally think that the Eldrazi coming to Innistraad is a bit too much. Cthulhu and werewolves are two different type of horror.
However, they could make it good by splitting the book in two part, like the Old Innistraad and the New Innistraad. It would be kinda cool~
I was going to try and talk some friends into doing tombs of annihilation but this tho!!!
This is the one source book I'd buy a physical copy of!
I bought the alt cover version just to have it lol
How the Hell can you not like his videos??
They just hate me on a personal level, no matter what the video is about.
To be clear, how can anyone routinely partake of your videos and hard work (research and then quality recording AND editing- so much unsung effort to make something “watchable”) and then not “like” the damn video!? 🤷🏾♂️Too many views to like/dislike ratio for my opinion of your audience personally...😒
Professor Buttons I have an app that lets me "watch over" youtube videos at my leasure, however it forbids me from "interfering with them" in anyway. I alone do not possess such an app, there are many such as i bound from interfering with the genius of mortal amature creaters. Those cities deserved to be destroyed! It was benevolence and mercy!! Stop looking at me that way!? They were wicked!?!? 🏛😞😡⚡🏙🔥🌆⚡💥 Jokes aside, it's naturally easier to watch vids than like, type and even notice the obvious.
AJ Pickett Do they actually even know anything about you on a personal level? Or do they just comprehend your intire character and personality based solely on your taste in fantasy and fiction?
@@thedarkmaster4747 I can count the people who know me on a personal level on my two hands.
Arixmethes was destroyed because it's actually built on the back a slumbering kraken and one day it decided to wake up here's the card bud edhrec.com/commanders/arixmethes-slumbering-isle
I love your videos they are so helpful
Glad you like them!
A perfect post dinner video
I keep reading Theros as Theranos.
The Returnef sound awesome.
Thinking of going as a Returned fighter, trying to remember who he was.
Oh, and players have no idea how they got there. Just wake up in forest and find a 'cat person' living nearby who offers to help.
but, AJ, do you have a video on Changelings?
Yes! Every humanoid video is actually about changlings you just have to go frame by frame to see the hidden notes!
I finally received my Mythic Odyssey’s of Theros book delivered last night.
First impressions?
AJ Pickett I need more time. I am not happy about Minotaurs being an evil race by default like the Drow, but I understand the reason being due to the role the Minotaur plays in Greek Mythology. I haven’t given it a solid read through yet. I really want to play a slutty Satyr Bard though... or a Triton 🔱 Wizard 🧙🏼♂️
@@sirwilliam4128 Triton Monk would-be my first character there.

Wait, magic the gathering and dnd are getting a offical crossover?
gideon crider have done already.
Both owned by Hasbro, so yes, we are seeing many crossover products, there are a bunch actually, not just the hardcover source books.
They already had ravnica this is second time I know of
One of the things I find most interesting is how small the map is and how landmarks, move.
Whoa, i knew Theros is a thing but i never knew it's so epic!
8 months, and still no mention of the Leonin video. :(

Dude great video! There was one fact you got wrong, and it was that Arixmethes was destroyed by Heliod. He did blow up a Polis, but it was named Olantin, apparently they got too smug.
Arixmethes got destroyed because it was built on the back of a giant sleeping serpent. Human error there....
Yeah, Arixmethes, the slumbering Isle. God I hate that card.

I wonder what all the things you said you’ll do in a future video but you haven’t gotten to are? I know Leonin and elves are on that list.
Guess I’ll have to watch all your videos in reverse chronological order to find out.
By all means, I would love to get that list when you are done.
@@AJPickettyou for a lot of videos but a few of them are Leonin, mechanus (but you go quite in-depth in your Modron video), eladrin and elves, The rest of the outer planes, and more monsters from Volos.

Meh, I'll skip, seems Generic.
I dont like MTG mixed with D&D , its just a cash grab, and in my humble opinion is it is lazy on there part , because they could be making a whole new setting or updating the one that are already D&D fan favs like DARK SUN , or they could be writing about the undiscovered continents of Toril , but instead they give us this crap that no one but a few will buy. Wizard of the Coast are to busy virtue signaling how woke they are to put out books that are even worth crazy amounts money they want for there books , that are not that good.....
Not a d&d player, but new settings would be great to see once I can find time to play. However, any new setting they put out would probably be taken from the DMsguild or from D&D webshows, which means they'll collaborate with the creators of these settings.
Also, going woke and virtue signaling leads to companies going broke. Just look at Disney for example. They took a financial hit and will lose more with no thanks to the pandemic going around.
Explain?
@COMICBOOKJEDI uh what wokeness? can you give me an example?
@@Scortch-lo3xy From what I've heard there's almost no wokeness in D&D, but I have heard that it is in MTG from time to time or that's what I heard. However, some people who play D&D do try to force their woke politics from time to time.
