I was just reading the Theros book. The reason to use a bronze dragon stats but say it’s a blue dragon is because there are only red and blue dragons in Theros. In the early part of the monster section, there’s a blurb about Dragons explaining in what way they exist within Theros.
Editor here. As people have noted, Theros only has blue and red dragons. But blue dragons don't have the Amphibious trait or a swim speed and storm giants can't fly, so the bronze dragon stat block (retaining the blue's lightning affinity) felt a better fit for a titanic encounter between them at a shipwreck (i.e. probably involving underwater combat).
First? Edit: Just skimmed through this video (cos I generally don't buy from DM's Guild often) but I can say, very happy with the level of detail this encounters seem to have. They provide enough detail to understand the story behind each encounter but provide space to individualise the encounter to each campaign. Definitely, something I'll put on my radar.
I have been thinking really strongly about buying Theros. I am against Wizards trying to cross pollinate their Magic stuff into DND but unlike Ravnica this looks like it really adds something unique to the game.
i picked this product up about a week ago after debating its purchase. Its great content! A great mix of of simple encounter and larger lore based adventures, many with multiple means of running them. overall a great buy, but i wish they had included the Underworld among the encounter environments seeing as its such a major area of play they built up in MOoT.
As someone who's only watched your review and information videos and your entire straight faced delivery and relatively neutral tone. To see you laughing was..... really weird but... oddly pleasant
For the dragon being a blue dragon with the bronze dragon stat block, a lot of it is due to it being a MtG setting first rather than starting with the basic D&D stuff

Ted, you look so happy in the thumbnail! Like Christmas morning lol!

The red/blue dragon thing is on me, I just didn't know. My bad
Don't worry about it, it was a valid question and it does look a bit odd when you're reading it.
"I thought I could, but it looks like I can't." Story of my life.
The dragon colour is a theros lore thing, you can find it in the dragon section of the book

Just for any new listeners, there is a V2 that does have the embedded hyperlinks at the time of writing this comment

Fyi - jelly rubber chair wheel replacements - standard attachment, larger size, better rolling & less likely to damage the floor.
I've just learned about those! I plan on ordering them!
I have them on my new chair. Worth the $

The landing could have been more graceful.

Guess next is Darkshore or Exploring Eberron
Thank you.
Feels like the producer of the book was dropping the ball pretty hard. How something even gets released without ToC?

Why do you always read the text? As public speaker, that is normally not recommended...
