  • How did Michael Jackson compose songs?
    The Incredible Way Michael Jackson Wrote Music.
    Michael Jackson couldn't read or write music at all. He demonstrated how he composed music, usually starting with the rhythm section. He was being able to create lots of sounds and improvise riffs, while not playing an instrument.
    He'd then record get arrangers and producers to come up with a structure around it, and sometimes use additional songwriters to complete the work.

    Michael has always maintained that his songs would come fully formed in his head...he was Inspired "from above." Ancient Greeks believed that a genius was not a person but a divine spirit that each person had that would inspire their creations. Michael's talent was truly God-given. 💕

      then why does he have "demos" which only have a little of the tune and lyrics? eg. Billie Jean
      He did an interview decades ago and said all his songs were collaborations and that he didn't initiate them. In other words, someone else came up with a song and he humed a little something over the top for the musicians to play.
      The only amazing thing about him is the success he had considering he was not musically gifted.

    • @milesdust3465

      Of course he did not have perfect pitch. Just like all the other myths regarding him. He was a very normal/mediocre man that got used and he used his totally absurd fame, to become an even more absurd human being. It ended with his death of course, and really hope that the truth will come out one day. Some of them have started to speak, like the Toto-guys, Greg Phillinganes, Quincy of course and so on. He was nothing special at all regarding music.

  • @esmooth919
    @esmooth919 3 місяці тому +2

    I can attest to this songwriting technique, because while I can play the piano, I am not efficient enough to play live, or something like that, nor can I read or write sheet music... But like Michael Jackson, I can hear the music in my head... And I agree that it comes from above; so I will take the music in my head, and use my fingers the best I can to paint those notes onto the canvas that is my piano/keyboard, and the rest goes from there.

  • @myBquest
    @myBquest 3 місяці тому

    I believe Michael did play instruments by ear (there is a couple of videos of him goofing with pianos and keyboards), but he never learned how to play by notes and didn't really care as other people would do the job better and faster. He trusted the professionals.
    It is not weird to me to find people like this, my dad has a similar ability; he doesn't play by notes, but he can grab any instrument and play any song in it just a few minutes into using it. He does play the guitar and the bass, all by ear. I bought a piano last year, he never used a piano before (they are expensive where I live, we used to have a small keyboard where my brother and I practiced), and ten minutes into using the piano he was already playing some Toto song 😂
    Some people are just born with this in their brains.

    So the “engineer” actually created the chords for MJ. Michael did not sing all the notes of each chord. He had a lot of help from the highest caliber musicians when “writing” the songs. It was not a solo effort in the least respect.

    • @sahlkazi3058
      @sahlkazi3058 4 місяці тому +1

      Exactly. Loads of respect to Michael but thinking of the song is half the battle; his teammates would go through times of samples until it felt just right.

    • @noface7139
      @noface7139 3 місяці тому +5

      No. He would do a demo at home. Then he would write down all all the chords, keys, notes and time signatures before he got to the engineer and musicians. He knew his shit but just couldn't play well but he could play instruments. He was actually really good on the MPC.

    He played a shit on keyboards and another shit with guitar. Watch the videos and then talk. When Paco de Lucia gave him as a present a Spanish guitar MJ barely knew how to grab it: a musician hold a guitar with security, put some chords with his/her left hand and at least let one sound.
    Sorry fans, I am one too, but the truth is sometimes painful.
    Now pay attention to this story...
    I have a few friend that they are really good writers, I mean really good.
    I am wealthy since I was I child and my family owns an publishing house (and I barely learnt how to open the door...).
    So I called my friends, I told them stories with a few details about the scenery and the characters and in a few weeks they bring me 6 books.
    In short: That is the story in the video.
