    2000? It's just a matter of time before you have 200,000 subs. This is a great channel! Love it.

    I think the layout goes...
    TC > Katana > Xotic > SlideRig > Solo Dallas > Katana on top of board > Ts10 > Flux > Qtron > (in loop) OC-3 > Neunaber Expanse > Blacked out pedal, top load no led (reverb/drive?) > Flint > 83 > Aqua Puss > Chase Bliss Hi-Fi (makes more sense than Tonal Recal, especialy considering where he places his CE-2) > Chrono > Blacked out pedal, side load no led (reverb/drive?) > Jirkland Signature Boost

      That is not quite the layout for the 2019 world Tour!
      The OC-3 is not in the Qtron loop, that back row Katana is! We've seen him use it this way to confirm. The Neunaber Pedal is the Slate not the Expanse and the pedal after it is actually the J Rockett Mr. Moto! The Warper Hifi was only on the tour for a short time, I can confirm the CBA pedal beside the Aqua Puss is a Tonal Recall RKM. That last blacked out pedal is the Neunaber Inspire!
      Hope that helps! 😁

    Hard to believe how often Mayer has empty space on his boards. I’m so used to seeing church guitarists with the most expensive and tidy custom boards and then there’s John Mayer, with a pedaltrain, empty space, and Hosa patch cables haha.

      I know, it always makes me re-evaluate my own board. He sounded amazing during the Trio days and had 5 pedals. Sometimes straight forward and simple is the way to go!

    Coolest trick to have that chorus thing in your overdrived solo is to put it before drives. You should try. I think he’s doing it with one of the chorus pedals

    You may cover this in a later video but where does he run Leslie style effects? I think he ran his Rotosphere before delay/reverb in the early days but it looks like he has the Leslie loop after delay on the 2019 board. BTW love the videos and hope you cover John’s use other effects like compression and the POG.

      I’m going to include and cover all of that in part 3 which I’ll get done and out soon here 😎

    We demand part 3! I heard he was using speakers back through reverbs to get a more natural sound for the 2016 tour. Buys a £3.5k reverb, and still not happy!

    Could you talk more specifically about the Wah and adjusting the Xotic to have always/almost always on without affecting tone when you aren't actively using it? Thanks!

    Know anything about replicating that sawtooth delay he he got from his adrenlinns? Killer stuff bro

    Can you touch on where to place compression in the chain if we are not relying on a compressed PA system?

  • @MauricioBond23

    Does he always put the Katana before the Compressor when he uses a compressor?

    Can I get away with a blues breaker and a klon in the overdrive section or should I reallly be getting that tube screamer

    • @JustinJeske
      @JustinJeske  3 роки тому

      The Tube Screamer is kind of key for that sound. The Mid-hump it provides is a big characteristic of John's sound!

    His j mod prs amp doesn’t have reverb so he uses the strymon reverb side for that amp and other amps that doesn’t have onboard reverb.

    • @JustinJeske
      @JustinJeske  Місяць тому +1

      Not true, the Strymon Flint has always been additional reverb on top of Amp/Rack Reverb when John feels like it. It’s never been used for amps without reverb!

    • @adrianturner5247
      @adrianturner5247 Місяць тому

      @@JustinJeske this might be true as well but he does use it a lot for j mod. I wish the jmod had onboard reverb that’s my only hold back from me buying It. I prefer the traditional clean two rock! 🤘

    • @JustinJeske
      @JustinJeske  Місяць тому +1

      I think you’re misinformed my friend. When John was touring with the JMODs he had one Bricasti M7 reverb unit in the rack for each amp, that was what he was using for amp reverb, not the Flint! It’s impossible to say he’s never used it for amp reverb for smaller shows, but for main tours it’s well documented that it was never the Flint!
      I’d say the TC is a better amp in almost every way!
