Yes I have them, but I haven't look at this for more than a year already. The conversion was a very complex process and I spend around 3 months to code the converter under DOS. Then I gave up because while the converted styles work perfectly on my WK6, some would not on different WK keyboards from other people .. And I only have one WK at home so I couldn't easily figure out what's wrong and what I need to change in the code. Anyway I don't expect any money from this anymore and I completely agree to give out what I've got. Give me some time so I'll set up a little website where I can host the files and why not the converter. But it's not user friendly at all, it's a DOS command line ... Also you need to have at least a compact flash card (or SD card) adapter in place of the old HDD in your WK8. Because you must be able to take it off and plug the card in your computer in order to put the files in the card. You can also transfer some styles from floppy disk but as a floppy is only 1.44Mb, many styles would not fit on a disk because they come with audio samples converted from the Genesys. Then you need some memory in your Wk8. I've got my WK6 loaded with the maximum memory sticks possible, so I can put every Genesys styles and audio samples. When it works, like for me, you really have a Genesys in your WK. Please tell me if you have a compact flash adapter (or SD), how much memory you've got, and also if you're willing to open your WK8 ..
@@mythaimusic39 Thank you very much for your very detailed reply, was quite an eye opener! I didn't realise it required this much work. The WK8 I just recently bought to replace my old broken WK8, is in almost new condition and has never been opened so I think for now I want to keep it this way I think. Regarding the file size though, can you format the floppy as a work disk which gives 1.6Mb, even though its not a lot more it certainly made a difference when copying over RASS styles that were on the internal HD when making backup copies.
Sorry for the long delay to answer (I'm busy with other projects). One year ago I tried to make it working on separate floppy disks. For some styles it can work, but for the most, a single floppy is not enough because you have to include the audio samples related to the styles. The only really working solution is to put all the files in the internal HDD. Then when you turn on the keyboard you just have to load every samples then you can play any Genesys styles you want. Sadly you have to put the samples at every start because most of the sample RAM is volatile. It takes about 3 or 4 minutes to do it and it's quite acceptable knowing how the Genesys styles and samples sound better than the WK8. If you're OK to open your beast one day or another, just let me know then I'll put the files on a google drive. BTW, opening and tweaking a WK8 is absolutely not difficult and very safe for the keyboard :)
Hello, I don't have that sorry but you can find styles and sounds on the GEMClub group on FaceBook. The owner of the group runs a website from where there are thousands and thousands sounds and styles for any GEM keyboards. Good luck.
Hi, I will sell the conversion but at low price like told in my previous video. I spent 4 months and thousand hours to do it so that's why I expect a few money back. It is not exactly a conversion as every audio samples are the original ones coming from the Genesys. It is more a memory conversion as both WK8 and Genesys share the same hardware. This video is a small sample size version for the 8Mb users, but if you have 32Mb, you can expect the same sound as if you had a Genesys. Cheers.
