I had the good fortune to see Bill a couple times in the last 4 months or so. As a guitar player, I come away thinking there ain't nothing he can't do. What's the best though is speaking to him after a show. Super nice guy. Thanks BIll.
...my dad loved this song - he brought a cassette tape with him when he, mom and my two brothers visited me in Germany in the summer of 1972...he didn't know that he could get AFN on the radio - but this brings back great memories...sittin i our rooms at the Gasthaus Zum Storchen in Bad Windsheim listening to this 49 years ago...
I first heard this song in the 4th grade during Show And Tell when the menacingly bigger kid with long hair brought his 45 of it and stoically played it for the class. I was amazed and it's one of the few things I remember distinctly from the early 70's and at the end of the song he sarcastically asked if there were any questions ....The class was stunned but I said can you play it again and without hesitation or approval from the teacher, he did. I learned to play guitar, joined or started many bands and met lots of girls (married the best one of em) and so that seemingly dangerous kid set the whole thing up when he dropped that needle. Thanks dude and to Bill and all the other Airmen, Amen.
This man is surely the king of the Telecaster! He did a gig for me YEARS ago, and when I met him New Orleans two years ago, he not only remembered the gig but also remembered my name.... What a guy!!!!
I wouldn't go as far as saying King of the Tele. Love his playing but Roy Buchanan is at the top of my list. Don Rich, James Burton and Danny Gatton are all amazing. But it's just an opinion.
the grapevine is a very long and steep road up to the pass and sharp drop down regardless of what side you take north to sout and it will bake your car , blow it up or fry your brakes. ask any semi driver who knows where the up ramps with gravel are on the sides of the down side north bound sides.and burn up gas.. really dangerours then there is the snow and rain and fog that can hit it. this for new cars too.
No matter how many times I hear this tune it puts a smile on my face. 😃
Same and just sit and 😃 away.
Look up the twangbangers and he has a really good live recording of this song

I saw Bill probably 6 times, nicest guy I ever met in the business.
What a BLAST! This guy is SO excellent and FUN!
Love it all. You hit all of the check boxes. I no longer feel concerned about getting older. Bless you sir.
Not much we can do about it except to rock on!

What a wonderful tune. I can't listen to this tune often enough.

That is amazing. So glad I came across it.
Me too! Thanks for commenting.
Fantastic! Bill and fellow band mates are the best!!
True entertainment and awesome talent!!!!!! Thank God for the ability to play music
Now that's what you call talent. PERFECT .
Oh, if only my dear friend and brother Jimmy Rodriguez could enjoy this with me. RIP Jimmy.
I love these old car songs. Hot Rod Lincoln is my favorite.
That was pure fun.
its no wonder they call him titan of the telecaster--the guy is a beast
I saw Bill with Chuck Prophet solo about a month ago. What a performer!
He never lets us down!
What a virtuoso! Lotta bonus material in here; a very fun version of Hot Rod Lincoln!
Amazing!
Bill’s wonderful!
Fantastic!
Awesome song and band, shame you zoomed in cutting out the drummer for a bit, his reactions and playing were also part of the performance.
3 thumbs down? More like 3 dumbs down!
Amazing guitar playing,legend.❤😅
Think I first heard this from Commander Cody and the Lost Planet Airmen. This version is just all smiles from me though.
Awesome! I gotta see this man!
lines look like dots chhoook choook choook.. great version..I kinda lived this one.
He designed a idea and it worked with his skills.
I thought I recognized that drummer! He used to play for Ray Wylie Hubbard!
An American Musicalicologist along the lines of Rye Cooder.
AWESOME

Builds character.
Were we not entertained???
Hey! he can play it all, lol.
It's a great act, isn't it!
Tele MASTER!
Wow
Oh yeah!
Billie Jean King SQUEEK! LOL
That is a deceptively difficult song to do well. Some say you need a little Scotch to get it just right.
former "lost planet airmen"
You don’t just pick drummers like that up off the street. What? You did a couple of times? Good save.
Why squeeze the drummer out of frame?!!!
I wanted to get in closer to Bill, plus I didn’t like the look with the drummer squeezed into the lower left corner-it was claustrophobic.
