Just an advice (to whoever ask about the frixion pen) . If you want to reread your journal entries in the future, please refrain from using frixion/erasable pen. They fade because of heat and will probably disappear through years. Btw, I really love your journaling contents Carrie 💕
@Monika Nowak yeah, thank you I think that's a good idea if you're planning on opening it a few times or once in the future :) but if you're always rereading it (like I do, to see how my mindset changes) it will still fade :)

I wish I had started journaling when I was younger. As it is, I have over twenty years of journals and I have over thirty filled journals, but if I had started as young as you did I would have thirty five years of journals. Keep up with journaling and you won't regret it.

Writing only about what you did each day is the definition of a diary. It’s journaling that gives you so much more flexibility because you can write about whatever you want and yes, journals can still be as private as a diary. Right now I have too much to write about because I’m writing out my relationship history beginning with age 16. I am now 46. I’m catching up because I didn’t stick with keeping a journal or diary in my much younger years.
Questions - 😊 ( Please answer ) 1.) How long should your journal entries be? 2.) Where can you hide you diary? ( I'm worried someone will read them! ☹ ) I really love ❤ your videos!!! I can't wait for your college videos as well!!! 😃
Your journal entries can be as long as you want! Sometimes I write one page, sometimes I write five! I also know some people who write only a couple sentences or paragraphs at a time. There doesn’t need to be a set amount. Personally I do at least one page a day, but, again, you can write however much you would like!
As for hiding your diary... I would suggest to just look around your room and try to find a place that you think no one would look! You can also look into getting a lock for your diary, etc

My question: what advise do you have for someone who cant seem to fill a journal up all the way before moving into a new one? I feel bored or tired of the journal when I am barely half way through it and I cant get motivated to continue it.
I would maybe try to focus less on filling up the whole JOURNAL and instead focus on filling one page at a time. It comes a lot more easily when you aren’t paying attention to how much you have left. Try finding new things to write about / new things to do on each page to try to keep things exciting and have something to look forward to
i dont know if youll see this but do you start a different page for each day? or do you leave off on the page you ended. Like if you didnt use the whole page on the day before, would you start there or start a whole new page?
I love your channel and although this is an old video I want to comment. My journal is just a brain dump of everything, what i did that day, if I sat around doing nothing i still write that and how it made me feel...did it relax me? Did it stress me knowing I wasted a day doing nothing and what could I do the next time i find myself doing nothing. I draw in mine too and that is a skill i am improving on. I have found myself writing short stories because I am that person who always wants to write a novel 😅 I write about my gripes but when its being pages of negativity i find myself stopping and then focusing on what i did to try and turn a negative day/experience in a positive and what i could do to avoid negativity. I love to read back over my journals when my mental health was at its worst and there are pages which make me wince when i read them because i cant believe how much of a black hole i was in and how much I have come on since then. If i eat at new place i will try and get a business card or the reciept, glue them in and write about that experience like my own review of the place. Its endless. Just treated myself to a Peter Pauper Press Celestial journal and I am excited to start writing in it, I still have half of my other journal to fill and I want to complete my current one before I dive into my new one. if you don’t have an answer yet, pencil graphite will fade over time so in a few decades when you go back to your old journals, it might be hard to read, which is why pen ink is better to write with. but, obviously, you should use whatever works best for you!

I would say either find external motivation (people/pictures/quotes/etc that motivate you) or become familiar with a journal before starting to write in it. I usually like to pick out my next journal ahead of time so I have it in mind before I actually start writing in it

Same! I have multiple journals that are barely filled.
Perhaps start with thinner and smaller journals that can be filled quicker to get your motivation going
