Hey, in 2020. Going through past adventures) There's a card that breaks armour from one of the latest expansions. The card is Platebreaker 5/5 for 5 with a battlecry which destroys enemy armour. I am writing this to thank you from the bottom of my heart. I have beaten the Lich King with every class, using every deck you have made, only with some really minor changes here and there, and only for Shaman I had to use a different deck. It took me a while and the hardest (other than Shaman) were Warrior and Paladin. But I finally managed them after 20+ tries. You really gotta have draw luck, no matter the class, using your decks, but I am sure there was no other way to do such cheap decks that can defeat LK. Once again: BIG THANKS!
"1 Alarm-o-Bot, 1 Stubborn Gastropod, and 28 of the biggest minions you have" worked wonders for me. Just restart until you get Alarm-o-Bot and Stubborn Gastropod in your opening hand. Gastropod on turn 2, Alarm-o-Bot on 3.
CrimsiN yeah I did that exact thing but it was difficult to burn through 160 hp and to not get your crucial minions obliterated. I ended up getting skeletal knight -> sindragosa -> don hancho -> stormwatcher alongside a large board of other things. Warrior was the hardest for me, took like 3 hours T_T
I would like to thank Tommy j for posting this awesome guide. I found that it is necessary to have brawl, both obsidian statues and a berserker in ur hand before turn 9, but if you can manage this this boss is easy. I substituted the basic minions with common, early game card draw (acolytes, loot horder, novice engineer) to maximize the chances of obtaining the combo. Also consider running cards like earthen ring and hozen healer to stall the trapped soul, making ur frothing berserker huge and mill the Lich King. If u have it, replace berserker with scaled nightmare for a berserker to do a 1 hit KO.
this deck is quite solid and nice to play with. i knew that i definitely need the berzerker to do the damage, tarlord for defense, brawl for cleanup, but never thought of the obsidian guy, and it did the trick. i had some luck too, but in the end, i had two 40/3 berzerkers.
Till the day I don't understand how you got so lucky in this match. I've tried more than 50 times and can't win with the deck. He always has some kind of counter to whatever play, and even if you draw PERFECTLY (which i've done several times) he can still freeze/obliterate your frothings, which are really the only way to push him before he kills you.
Get dead man's hand to add to it, and change a couple of the doubles you have except for the destroyers and brawl. Took me a while but I got it last night!
Hey I just got it too: pro tips: change one Tar Lord and one Obsidian to one Faceless Manipulator each. So you will have 1 x Tar, 1x Obsidian, 1x Faceless. The benefit is the lower mana cost and also you can use a faceless on a berserker if need or get the one you need exactly. I also replaced bloodhound with Saronite Chain Gang as it is almost the same in stats but in two minions and better for beserker. Had to restart maybe 10 times but I got it. I played one faceless on an Wrapped Golem and one on a beserker. He managed only to kill one of my buffed berserkers. Also, the new expansion just came out and the new Wrapped Golem is better than obsidian due to it having reborn. I used that instead. Makes it easier. And you can faceless that before it dies meaning you get a total of 4 of them. I would probably not have been able to do it without them. But it costs more of course in dust. But easy to get in new packs.
Thanks for the budget decks. Was stuck on Warrior for a few days. Finally got the turn 7 scenario you had and had an extra Berserker which were 54/1 and 46/1 when he fell. Thanks again.
This guide helped me win on my first try after watching 5 other videos trying out their decks and spending about 8-10hrs trying beat lih king with warrior😤 the only changes i made was adding 2x obsedian destroyer but only got to use one. I added mine on the 7th round since I had 2 taunt minions prior to it. And had a lot of mid cost taunts in my deck so used those to slowly kill his souls.(I had 2 brawls but never drew them) i did use Stormwind champion and so i found out THE LAST SOUL DOES NOT ATTACK which helped set up for the next move after with some higher cards, and I also had PLATEBREAKER which completely destroys his armor and lastly defeated the lich king after a couple of rounds after.
Thanks a lot it real helped me, i didnt use the same deck but the idea of "freezing" the board with double taunt when he is in Frostmourne phase, and build a board was so smart, again thanks
Thank you, warrior was the last on the list and after maybe a hundred tries and many different deck types, this finally helped me build a deck that got it done. Not this exact deck but the vocal points were obs destroyer and frothing berserker. Feels goooood!
Good deck, managed to beat him with hit after quite a few tries. If you can afford to spend the extra 80 dust (or just have them in you collection), I'd advise to swap the Voodoo doctors for Acolytes of Pain. The one thing I found this deck lacking was card draw. Once I got those in, I had a much higher consistency getting to turn 7 with brawl and Tar Lord and/or Obsidian Destroyer in hand.
Thanks to your video I finally beat him with the warrior. Copied your deck card for card and all your plays after frostmourne was pulled and after a few tries it worked beautifully. The key for me was burning his obliterates and blizzards and a few taunts through his overdraws. I also got overly lucky when he burned his first obliterate on turn 2 or 3 on the tidehunter lol
Worked perfectly on my second try, have been pretty lucky tho. Both my berserker and armorsmith survived after the set up with obsidienne post brawl on turn 7. Thanks mate !
Switched to a draw strategy with loot hoarders, novice engineers, acolyte of pains, and that worked a lot better. 2x obsidian destroyer to stall out the frostmourne stage seems to be the only way to consistently win with this strat. Vicious Fledgling played a big role too.
One of The main card for the trick is not available anymore, it's doable with a 3/3 that does the same thing though but a bit more tricky because you can't put it head on.

I played this boss. This year not sure if it was harder back then. I just need a deck where I able Armour up a lot and a mix of the typical cards I use for my Warrior deck. I’m good with Warrior I beat The Lich King without crafting a card.
No matter how hard I try, I can't ever draw second Obsidian Destroyer in time. It's so frustrating.Edit: of course, when I drew them both, I won. Ended up with 30 health and 3 armor. Stormwind Champion and Armorsmith were the MVPs, Frothing Berserker surprisingly not so much.
It took me like 5 or so tries, but it worked. You sir have earned a like and a sub. Also you can replace elvish archer with blood to icor, and murloc tidehunter with bilefin tidehunter. I also replaced 1 tar lord with the lich king, but I won without drawing it.
Dude this worked first try, after a couple restarts when you have the combo you automatically win! make sure to use the doctor on the soul! i've milled TWO obliterate from his hand! THANKS SO MUCH I FINALLY HAVE ARTHAS NOW
I did this Video as a Guide. All went easy except Warrior and Mage. I used Exodia mage and OTK warrior with Commanding shout pyro and frothing berserks. There are a few guides for this. The Alarmobot Warrior is very very rng heavy.
I did it! For Warrior the combo Sun Cleric, Gargoyle and a 1 cost Taunt on your turn 7 worked. Followed by bonemare on Gargoyle (Lich does nothing then, no damage for you) and then Scalebanes. I also had a frothing berserker on and Stormwind Champ. It’s important that you calculate well and maybe switch a low health minion for a 8/8 or something early in the second stage. First time Lich destroyed the board with 2 blizzards and other stuff. Second combo try worked cuz he wasted a Blizzard on turn 6 for a weaker board...My last hero was Shaman though. Lol I did it without Evolve, Devolve etc. My Tidecaller was on 11 with windfury (shaman card), second one on 7 and some other stuff (flame totem etc). Finished him on turn 6...Total cost 340 dust for all 9 Champs. One extra Auctioneer, Jade Idol, Spreading Plague (very important for me in the second stage) and the Gargoyle. And now….FOR LORDAERON! :) impossible….IMPOSSIBLE!
A suggestion? A friend mine has done it with a rather funny break, using Kel'thuzad's rez ability. Something to consider. (And in conjunction with a heavy blocker+Armorer's? He literally Fatigued out LK and then went into phase 3.)
Blizzard designed these fights to be a challenge to players with large collections and a lot of experience, which makes them very difficult for players without large collections. While this deck does work, it does rely heavily on luck and the right draws, and it does rely somewhat on the Lich King getting bad draws. Keep trying. It took me fifty to a hundred attempts with Paladin and Mage to get it :)
This Deck Just Doesn't Work,Tried like 20 times, whenever i get remotely close to defeating him,he just plays blizzard,and then he plays it again. Any Help?
Finally got it with minor changes of the deck, added second brawl instead of 1 arcanite reaper. Had only left 4 HP 1 more turn and would been wacked again :D
Theres a pretty cheap way to do it using 0-2 attack taunts dead mans hand and coldlight oracles and the bounce cards, hosen healers brawls and the cheap armor gain spells, and armor smiths. You keep him in frostmorne mode untill hes on no deck as long as you can and you can just burst the last bit of health he has left only takes a couple of tries to beat him
I ran out of dust before I could get brawl. I'm going to try it with the Lich King card. Because he gives you a card that gets rid of all the minions on the board. The next best thing, till I can get this card, is I'm going try Doomsayer. That's what I have to work with until I either get the brawler card or can make it.
This deck is reliant on a specific combo for maximum effectiveness you NEED brawl turn 8, obsidian turn 9 obsidian and frothing turn 10. Frothing and hopefully armorsmith turn 11. Cheese the battle during the frostmoure phase then kill the last trapped soul on your turn so you can swing face immediately Try make sure he doesn't have any taunts on the board turn 7 to allow you to go hard and fast at his face as soon as frostmourne breaks. Be prepaid to deal with obstacles and hope he doesn't bounce obliterate the frothing berserkers. .
Wow, this worked like magic! Warrior was my 8th hero to beat the Lich King with and this was the first time I beat his ass on the first try! xD Damn, it felt AMAZING!! Btw, I switched the Voodoo Doctors for 2x Acolyte of Pain and the Tar Lords for 2x Bog Creeper (since I didn't have any Tar Lords). Only have Shaman left now! :D
Try this combo , you run two stubborn gastropods and two alarm o bots then pray for one of each in draw if u drop the snail n he plays 0/5 kill him and then sound the alarm otherwise restart till this happens exactly as i say. Fill your deck with the most badass creatures u got n hope its enough :]
HEEL FKKKKKKKKKKKIN YEAH, JUST WINNED WITH THIS DECK, holy shit mate, 2 days with warrior, tried grim patron, tried all fkin sorts of things, finally rng gods heard my call, i managed to leave one soul aole with TAR CREEPER wirlwind, arcanite reaper, a enraged bloodhof brave, and then double destroyer with berserker, jesus, so happy i finally beated it, now... we try shamman...
Great guide man thank you a lot :) All you need is to have 2x scarabs, berserker and brawl before turn 7. I managed to kill him on 10th try but it was worth it. I got finally my Arthas :D
Since Doomsayer played on turn 6 into 7 kills all his 2/6's instantly is that not a good craft for most classes decks? I know it's epic so expensive but it seems to get millage across multiple classes
Doomsayer would be very handy indeed... except for warriors, who will need to abuse the frostmourne phase to build up a very high attack strength board before the phase ends, so the instant doomsayer would work against the warr in most cases.
So do you get the lich king card of your class after you beat him? I ask cause I want to beat him with shaman to get DeathAdder but not sure of he gives the card or not
These videos show that it's possible, not that it's easy... xD Back in the day I followed his guides for heroic Naxxramas and I was stuck on the last 2 bosses for days, maybe even weeks, but eventually you'll get lucky and beat it.
I myself collected my warrior cards over 3 years back in BRM control warrior, boy i don't regret making these cards back in the day, today i have 2x Brawl, 2x Shield Slam and 300x fun!
Tried so many times till i got fed up. Changes: In - 2 Brawls and Death's Bite instead of Arcanite Reaper Out - 1 Elven archer Worked on 2nd attempt. I guess it does need a good bit of luck but the second brawl helped it get more consistant.
Had to put in coldlight oracles cause the fuck kept killing my berserkers with double blizard. Milling him one with the help of coldlight during the frostmourne phase actually helped a lot :)
I'm going to give that a go. I've been trying different variations of this deck with some better cards (shield slam ect) for a day with no luck. He always has the double blizzard when I'm lucky enough to get the right hand out during the frostmourne phase. So brutal. Warrior and pally are the only ones I have left and warrior has taken me as long as all the others combined. I would try the fatigue deck listed on icy veins but I dusted KT ages ago never thinking I would use him lol
Marek Všetíček for paladin you can do the glitch on tirion where they won't attack. For mage you can just murlock rush before turn 7 frostwolf. His warrior deck works for me :0
Are you on a budget? If not, I won with Elemental Mage (the Death Knight hero was the MVP), a Paladin which just heavily buffed up a Young Dragonhawk, and fatigue Warrior with Dead Man's Hands and Coldlight Oracles.
Probably you have played more than 5 days a row because i try for 4 hours and never get him even with the 2 obsidian on the deck first plays a blizzard spell then kill my obsidian with the spwll witch takes damage to its cost and my berserkers get alone on the deck and the only thing he has to do is to easily hit them with the minions
you got some perfect fucking rng with the card draw... even if I get 5 cards for the combo it seems not to be enough. Closes I got after whole day of trying was 60+ hp and he finished me with heropower...
i used this deck and won. not because its op, but u have to use things wisely and being lucky.. we both ran out of cards.. and luckily i got 3 monsters left and finish him off with my champion..
the strategy is pretty good but it lacks sufficient card draw. Take some useless things out like the tide hunters or one of the arcanite reapers and put in acolyte of pain and loot hoarders. I tried this deck alot but i couldn't win unless i drew my brawl before turn 7, with the acolytes I tried to survive and got it during the frostmourne phase and won that game. The draw does make you more liable to fatigue damage and the hero power damage adding up, but i subbed in a few of my other big minions to give even more damage each turn and tried to get max value out of my armorsmiths. THANKS ALOT for that amazing strategy, but i think the deck will be more consistent with draw
Great video series. If you are open to any form of advice: you play WAY to fast. I've watched almost all of your Lich King videos and in every video you at least do 1-2 plays that you would not have done, had you thought about it longer. I understand these videos have to go on youtube and can't be infinite but the single player hearthstone adventures grant you infinite time to think at least. In this video I completely disagree with running your 20+ attack frothing into a 1/2 taunt when you could have killed the taunt with your weapon for example. Not healing the soul was another slip up. That said, it was still well played all in all and you have a very nice voice to listen to, keep up the good work =)
Really, though, there was no way the Lich King could've killed his Frothing Berserker behind the Taunt minions, since the only board clear he has is Blizzard (which doesn't kill a 4-health Berserker). Whether the card was at 4 health or 5 doesn't make a difference in terms of Obliterate, either. Plus, it would be much more beneficial to keep the 5 attack weapon for killing something else that may threaten the Berserker in the future.
So you stand with your play? Interesting. Saying it makes no difference in terms of obliterate whether the frothing is 4, 5 or whatever health is kind of missing the point in my argumentation. It basically comes down to whether you value the 1 weapon charge (you had 2 at that point! So you still could have killed something later with it) more than 20+ damage to the face, which I would argue is always in favor of the face damage. One argument that would make sense however is the threat of bonemare which could have come down on the 2/4 to value trade into your stormwind champion which might hurt you in the long run because one obsidian destroyer becomes vulnerable to blizzard. Well, I dont want to split hairs here, you still managed to win after all.

Idk what im doing wrong but this isnt working at all for me, even when i get the gastropod/ alarmo combo, blizzard just screws me over

It works good if you don't get Double Blizzard and Double Obliterate by Lich King on OD

It took me like 5 or so tries, but it worked. You sir have earned a like and a sub. Also you can replace elvish archer with blood to icor, and murloc tidehunter with bilefin tidehunter. I also replaced 1 tar lord with the lich king, but I won without drawing it.
Dude this worked first try, after a couple restarts when you have the combo you automatically win!

I did this Video as a Guide. All went easy except Warrior and Mage. I used Exodia mage and OTK warrior with Commanding shout pyro and frothing berserks. There are a few guides for this. The Alarmobot Warrior is very very rng heavy.
I did it! For Warrior the combo Sun Cleric, Gargoyle and a 1 cost Taunt on your turn 7 worked. Followed by bonemare on Gargoyle (Lich does nothing then, no damage for you) and then Scalebanes. I also had a frothing berserker on and Stormwind Champ. It’s important that you calculate well and maybe switch a low health minion for a 8/8 or something early in the second stage. First time Lich destroyed the board with 2 blizzards and other stuff. Second combo try worked cuz he wasted a Blizzard on turn 6 for a weaker board...My last hero was Shaman though. Lol I did it without Evolve, Devolve etc. My Tidecaller was on 11 with windfury (shaman card), second one on 7 and some other stuff (flame totem etc). Finished him on turn 6...Total cost 340 dust for all 9 Champs. One extra Auctioneer, Jade Idol, Spreading Plague (very important for me in the second stage) and the Gargoyle. And now….FOR LORDAERON! :) impossible….IMPOSSIBLE!
A suggestion? A friend mine has done it with a rather funny break, using Kel'thuzad's rez ability. Something to consider. (And in conjunction with a heavy blocker+Armorer's? He literally Fatigued out LK and then went into phase 3.)

Blizzard designed these fights to be a challenge to players with large collections and a lot of experience, which makes them very difficult for players without large collections. While this deck does work, it does rely heavily on luck and the right draws, and it does rely somewhat on the Lich King getting bad draws. Keep trying. It took me fifty to a hundred attempts with Paladin and Mage to get it :)

Finally got it with minor changes of the deck, added second brawl instead of 1 arcanite reaper. Had only left 4 HP 1 more turn and would been wacked again :D

Theres a pretty cheap way to do it using 0-2 attack taunts dead mans hand and coldlight oracles and the bounce cards, hosen healers brawls and the cheap armor gain spells, and armor smiths. You keep him in frostmorne mode untill hes on no deck as long as you can and you can just burst the last bit of health he has left only takes a couple of tries to beat him

I ran out of dust before I could get brawl. I'm going to try it with the Lich King card. Because he gives you a card that gets rid of all the minions on the board. The next best thing, till I can get this card, is I'm going try Doomsayer. That's what I have to work with until I either get the brawler card or can make it.
This deck is reliant on a specific combo for maximum effectiveness you NEED brawl turn 8, obsidian turn 9 obsidian and frothing turn 10. Frothing and hopefully armorsmith turn 11.
Cheese the battle during the frostmoure phase then kill the last trapped soul on your turn so you can swing face immediately
Try make sure he doesn't have any taunts on the board turn 7 to allow you to go hard and fast at his face as soon as frostmourne breaks.
Be prepaid to deal with obstacles and hope he doesn't bounce obliterate the frothing berserkers.

Try this combo , you run two stubborn gastropods and two alarm o bots then pray for one of each in draw if u drop the snail n he plays 0/5 kill him and then sound the alarm otherwise restart till this happens exactly as i say. Fill your deck with the most badass creatures u got n hope its enough :]

Since Doomsayer played on turn 6 into 7 kills all his 2/6's instantly is that not a good craft for most classes decks?
I know it's epic so expensive but it seems to get millage across multiple classes
Doomsayer would be very handy indeed... except for warriors, who will need to abuse the frostmourne phase to build up a very high attack strength board before the phase ends, so the instant doomsayer would work against the warr in most cases.

No, you don't get anything other than the new paladin hero for beating Lich King with every class, and you only get one free death knight card

brawl is a staple warrior card in alot of warrior decks, it would be one of the first card i'd recommend you'd craft.

Had to put in coldlight oracles cause the fuck kept killing my berserkers with double blizard. Milling him one with the help of coldlight during the frostmourne phase actually helped a lot :)
I'm going to give that a go. I've been trying different variations of this deck with some better cards (shield slam ect) for a day with no luck. He always has the double blizzard when I'm lucky enough to get the right hand out during the frostmourne phase. So brutal. Warrior and pally are the only ones I have left and warrior has taken me as long as all the others combined. I would try the fatigue deck listed on icy veins but I dusted KT ages ago never thinking I would use him lol

Marek Všetíček for paladin you can do the glitch on tirion where they won't attack. For mage you can just murlock rush before turn 7 frostwolf. His warrior deck works for me :0
Are you on a budget? If not, I won with Elemental Mage (the Death Knight hero was the MVP), a Paladin which just heavily buffed up a Young Dragonhawk, and fatigue Warrior with Dead Man's Hands and Coldlight Oracles.

Probably you have played more than 5 days a row because i try for 4 hours and never get him even with the 2 obsidian on the deck first plays a blizzard spell then kill my obsidian with the spwll witch takes damage to its cost and my berserkers get alone on the deck and the only thing he has to do is to easily hit them with the minions

you got some perfect fucking rng with the card draw... even if I get 5 cards for the combo it seems not to be enough. Closes I got after whole day of trying was 60+ hp and he finished me with heropower...

i used this deck and won. not because its op, but u have to use things wisely and being lucky.. we both ran out of cards.. and luckily i got 3 monsters left and finish him off with my champion..

the strategy is pretty good but it lacks sufficient card draw. Take some useless things out like the tide hunters or one of the arcanite reapers and put in acolyte of pain and loot hoarders. I tried this deck alot but i couldn't win unless i drew my brawl before turn 7, with the acolytes I tried to survive and got it during the frostmourne phase and won that game. The draw does make you more liable to fatigue damage and the hero power damage adding up, but i subbed in a few of my other big minions to give even more damage each turn and tried to get max value out of my armorsmiths.
THANKS ALOT for that amazing strategy, but i think the deck will be more consistent with draw

Great video series. If you are open to any form of advice: you play WAY to fast. I've watched almost all of your Lich King videos and in every video you at least do 1-2 plays that you would not have done, had you thought about it longer. I understand these videos have to go on youtube and can't be infinite but the single player hearthstone adventures grant you infinite time to think at least. In this video I completely disagree with running your 20+ attack frothing into a 1/2 taunt when you could have killed the taunt with your weapon for example. Not healing the soul was another slip up. That said, it was still well played all in all and you have a very nice voice to listen to, keep up the good work =)
Really, though, there was no way the Lich King could've killed his Frothing Berserker behind the Taunt minions, since the only board clear he has is Blizzard (which doesn't kill a 4-health Berserker). Whether the card was at 4 health or 5 doesn't make a difference in terms of Obliterate, either. Plus, it would be much more beneficial to keep the 5 attack weapon for killing something else that may threaten the Berserker in the future.
So you stand with your play? Interesting. Saying it makes no difference in terms of obliterate whether the frothing is 4, 5 or whatever health is kind of missing the point in my argumentation. It basically comes down to whether you value the 1 weapon charge (you had 2 at that point! So you still could have killed something later with it) more than 20+ damage to the face, which I would argue is always in favor of the face damage. One argument that would make sense however is the threat of bonemare which could have come down on the 2/4 to value trade into your stormwind champion which might hurt you in the long run because one obsidian destroyer becomes vulnerable to blizzard. Well, I dont want to split hairs here, you still managed to win after all.
