B175HW Transducer → amzn.to/2QQvq0g
In this episode, Captain Mike and the crew unveil the transducer they've chosen for their new boat and discuss the factors that influenced their decision. Selecting the right transducer is crucial for maximizing the performance of fish-finding technology, and Captain Mike shares valuable insights into the considerations that guided their choice.
1. **Type and Depth of Fishing**: Captain Mike emphasizes the importance of considering the type and depth of fishing that will be done most frequently when selecting a transducer. Different transducers are optimized for specific fishing scenarios, whether it's shallow water flats fishing, deep offshore trolling, or anything in between.
2. **Frequency Considerations**: The crew delves into the significance of frequency in transducer selection. Higher frequencies, such as 200 kHz, are ideal for shallow water fishing, providing greater detail and resolution. In contrast, lower frequencies, like 50 kHz, are better suited for deep water fishing, offering enhanced depth penetration and coverage.
3. **Installation Compatibility**: Another crucial factor in transducer selection is the installation process and compatibility with the boat's hull. Captain Mike highlights the importance of choosing a transducer type that aligns with the boat's hull material and design. Options include through-hull, transom-mount, and in-hull transducers, each with its own installation requirements and considerations.
4. **Performance and Technology**: The crew discusses the performance and technology features of the chosen transducer, highlighting its capabilities in providing accurate sonar readings and identifying fish and underwater structures. Cutting-edge technologies such as CHIRP (Compressed High-Intensity Radiated Pulse) and SideScan may also be considered for enhanced fish-finding capabilities.
5. **Expert Recommendations**: Captain Mike draws on his expertise and experience to offer recommendations for anglers navigating the complexities of transducer selection. He advises consulting with knowledgeable professionals and conducting thorough research to ensure that the chosen transducer meets the specific needs and requirements of the fishing environment.
6. **Conclusion and Unveiling**: After careful consideration and evaluation of various options, Captain Mike and the crew reveal the transducer they've selected for their new boat. With confidence in their choice, they look forward to unlocking the full potential of their fish-finding technology and enjoying successful fishing adventures on the water.
By sharing their transducer selection process and insights, Captain Mike and the crew empower viewers to make informed decisions when choosing the right transducer for their own boats. With the right combination of technology, installation, and performance, anglers can enhance their fishing experiences and maximize their success on the water.

My money's on threadfins
Winner. Please email us at Mike AT ReelReports dot com with your name, address and shirt size.
Finally someone teaches about transducers, thank you captain.
By the way I guess that in the screen is bait.
Knowledge is power! Was subscribed from my personal page, so ive missed a few of the recent ones. Thanks for sharing Mike
Hey Mike thanks for the transducer info , very helpful.
Thank you, this is what I was searching for.
Red areas between 6-8 foot range is bait. Probably pilchards or thread fins. Looking forward to more videos on your boat. I have really enjoyed the boat build series.
Thanks. Looking forward to hearing about new xducer options for stepped hulls.
Great video thanks , I wound up with B175H transducer thru hull
Great info captain 👍🏾
Bait ball of greenies. Great vid capt thanks learning is on transducers👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Small free swimming bait fish are the small blue items with a large school bait being the more red colored group. Love your vids and glad you finally got your dream boat
Awesome video on transducers. I am still learning and your videos help. I don’t know what fish they are but I do know I would throw a JUJu to catch them! I hope I get considered for a shirt😉.
Tight lines!
Bait fish over a wreck on your sonar unit. Thanks for the education on the frequency!
Good vid very informative
Good job👍
Thank for the information, i'm always learning on your channel, i appreciate your time and expertise.
i like to see a 20 to 30 minute videos, for example this video could have been 30 minutes long and you could have gone into depth on how to read the screen what to look for etc. Thank you and keep up the great work!!
Marking some thread fins !!
thank you
Bait fish!!! would love a new shirt..
Thanks for the over view of transducers Captain Mike! I’m not satisfied with my transom mount transducer on my 30’ CC , I would like to see the bottom while running at low rpm. I also fish in depths up too 500’ Thanks ! Looks like a ball of pilchards! 😎
Nice picture of small grunts!
just a quick one if im using low chirp on shallow water will it be more detail than the high?
Good info Mike! Those look smaller than threads so im going to say pilchards?
Pilchards? Keep posted these vids, awesome information!
Mangrove snapper off that ledge where the hardness is double refracted,I would guess a grouper sitting behind that pod, current is moving from your rear as the bigger fish is sitting nose into it
When are getting the top?
Threadfins! Greenies!
Green Backs ... time to black out the bait well ;-)
Nice school of pilchards!
How is the B175HW transducer working out? Any issues with it?
Bait ball - maybe green back but could be a mixture. I'm also going to guess that there is a casting net in the image.
So it’s shallow water (your moving around a 10’-12’). Looks kinda like your on the edge of the channel. The scattered dots could be seaweed. I didn’t see anything big that would scatter the bait ball you see at the end which makes me think seaweed more than fish. Towards the end that is definitely a bait ball. South Florida? So pilchards/thread fins probably.
fishing for queen snappers 900+feet which one would be the best for me
What happened to the fuel numbers video? I got 1/3rd thru and put it on pause for 30 minutes and now it's gone?
The thing you are marking in 10-12 ft at the end of a school of thread fins.
Going with Pilchards! Love the vids, I was on the fence about starting a build ( Pair 21 Deep V)...after watching the boat build series I feel way more confident in the process. Deposit going out this week!!
I really like the Pair Marine boats. Good luck with build.
Would it be possible to install two separate transducers? Say a transom mount with side scan and high frequency and also a thru hole low frequency transducer. But obviously only operate the one that is most beneficial in the water depth that you are in at that time
Yep. We plan on adding side scan transducer shortly.
School of thread fins forsure
Thanks, bait ball on fish finder...
Yellowtail and mix of pilchards
Big ball of greenies

Looks like a lot of bait in shallow water and you're floating up on a bait ball that's around 5' deep, is about 2' thick so toss your cast net!
