I've been gathering hundreds of different videos of Dundee and Scotland throughout the ages to help show its history to those in the future. A picture can say a thousand words, a video can say a whole book.
Systemic poverty linked to being the drug death capital of Europe is one thing which clearly sadly hasn’t changed where the underlying problems remain as relevant now as when this film was recorded. Suffice to say giving buildings a face-lift isn’t the solution to the problems of Dundee
A really good video. Looking at the title I thought you were going to answer my prayers. I stayed at 54 Seagate during WW2 but the building was replaced by M&S after I left and I’d love to see a photo of the tenement as it was. This area was home to me during five very formative years. Happy memories indeed!
I would love to see the rest of this, do you have it or know someone that has it? This genuinely brought a tear to my eye seeing the city of my childhood.

And the outside escalators still work in the Wellgate. What a time to be alive!
Look at the wellgate... look how busy it was back then, and look now. An amazing sight to see all 4 escalators working too, you never see that now! :(
