Man he had a lot of great things to say and some amazing history I played disc golf with this guy personally when he attended the Bigfoot tournaments in Humboldt County in California he went to it I think 12 years in a row but I was able to caddy for him one time I played on his card countless times when he attended Bigfoot and out of all the discs that he brought with him to sell the one that still cherish the most from him is a prototype first run Champion Max........ reason why is 1.he sold it to me for $10 where he could have easily sold it to me for about 40 he gave me a discount cuz I was seventeen at the time and he found out that I was playing in the Pro division being that young 2. It was brand new basically he threw a handful of times and he said it didn't really sit well with him so to me that's the best deal I've ever been given for a really rare disc like that I think he said that Innova only made about a hundred of those things if that maybe 80 but who knows and 3. He told me that it has a speck of Steady Ed's ashes in it and he even showed it to me on the disc and coming from Dave feldberg I wasn't going to doubt that........ I still have that disc today and it is my oldest disc in my bag thanks to him so I appreciate this video a lot and he is a really awesome dude👊😎
Played in a league in 1998 in Kzoo at Cold Brook that Dave played in. I saw him make shots that at that time seemed not human. He was on another level.
Dave gave me a putting lesson probably 10 years ago. What a great guy - although he wanted to buy all the discs from my old disc golf bag from the late 80's. :) When he offered me $75 for an old putter I had, I knew I was being taken! LOL!
I have a 1991 Nor Cal Classic Stingray. Back in 91' they played 10 different courses for this one tournament, including Shady, De La and Golden Gate Park to name a few.
I love hearing all that history Dave, thanks. Just one correction, on March 24, 2021 I got a Kotuku ace, with a glowie Kotuku, and did it in front of the RPM man himself Simon Feasey!
Dave is absolutely correct, the new DX feels so waxy, like crayons. I hate it. I bought an FD original recently and it reminded me of how good baseline from Innova used to feel.
I think the question about Nikko was a typo on Ace Run's part..... Felberg was talking about losing to (Steve) Rico rather than Nikko... i could be wrong though
@@fernwogteveril6935 ah okay, just the way he sound he messed with his score card and it got in his head I was wondering what the story was, couldn't find much on Google
I'm the 2nd greatest disc golfer of all time! What's a forehand? Not saying he isn't a fantastic disc golfer, but Feldberg is even better at being a cocky know-it-all.
"Hey Man, what is that? Is that a Hand's on Putter?" I don't know Dave. This has been in my bag since the 80's. "I'll give you $75 right now!" Nah, I don't think so. Let's smoke another bong. :)
He does everything else right, absolutely clean. That straight elbow probably robs him of 5% of his power but that doesn't matter much when you can throw them down the middle
I don't agree with him at all on making the baskets smaller. If they did that, then all the goals in the world would have to be changed. And If they only made the basket smaller for the pro's that would be even worse because then all the recreational players aren't playing the same game. If they must do it, they could experiment with smaller baskets but keep both sizes legal for everyone. That way some tournaments could have small and some larger. A better way though is to make the putting tougher for the pro's by having the goal on hills, slopes, in woods , or having trees or bush blocking the goal. Pro courses are doing this more and it has helped a lot. But we shouldn't do away with the current basket size. Disc Golf has been growing in leaps and bounds, why mess with that by changing the basket ?
Interesting that Dave thinks his generation was just as good as new generation. It seems Nate Sexton thinks differently because he said if he was in his 20's now with his skill set he would have never won the titles he has.
I think Nate Sexton meant that he has the skill but the way the courses and disc have changed that his distance would not compete to today's standards. Nate Sexton almost won world's so he still can compete but probably not be as successful cause the game is less skill but more distance
Dave is such a great player. He was always my favorite to watch.
A big thank you to Dave Feldberg for being so open and sharing his experience with us on this video!!
When this man talks disc golf you should always listen.
I love Dave's ability to illustrate teaching points. And honestly just his stories too.
I love your view on worlds, and how you should be able to play every type of course and show your versatility on shots.

What a casually fantastic moment
Great interview!! He's also a good teacher.
This is so good, so much tea spilt.

That’s incredible. Thanks for sharing!
This. More of it. Golden nuggets of information (and shade?).

He’s one of the greats without a doubt

That’s awesome!!!
YES!
Dave is legit!!!!!!
"When you feel it slipping, you gotta regroup." --D. Feldberg.
Awesome. But yet Ive learned all the disc golf history i could imagine from Scott Stokely's book 😉
Did he just casually hit chains from 292 feet just for funsies? What a boss you are Dave
Nice!!!!

Agreed. There is a very noticeable difference.
A-ARP for the masters coverage haha
What did Nikko do to Feldberg?

If I remember correctly Nikko wrote down the wrong score and said that he did it to try and psych Dave out.

Bosses are the farthest flying disc imo. I throw the alex Russell color glow
I'm trying to understand his driving, pure weight transfer? The elbow never bends...
