    I grew up with these cars...very comfortable to sit in

    The car from my childhood, the very first car I rode in and the first one I held the steering wheel (sitting on my father's knees ;o)). This car wasn't only a unique one in the 60's, it still is ! A marvel to drive and ride with, the real goddess of the roads. By the way, the 75ch was the first version but the motor evolved greatly during the 20 years or so (if i'm not mistaken ?) the car was produced evolving from DS 19 to DS 21 (as you guessed, DS in French is pronounced "déesse" and that means "goddess" ;o)). Thx for the review ; I've watched it before acquiring the same kit at the 1:43 scale which is vastly available too.

    Looks like a very nice kit Mike. Really like it when you do these reviews. You show kits that we didn't know existed!! Thanks!

      +MindlessModelWorks You're one of the few who's seen my actual stash. Some of those rare ones will be fun to review. I haven't looked in those boxes myself!

      @@spacemanvw You mean the EBBRO kit ? It's very rare and I presume also expensive compared to Heller kits.

    A nicely detailed and unique kit. The interior does look nice as is.

    A nice looking kit of a wonderful car. Liquid suspension means that you could raise and lower the front or rear of the car independently which gave it the best ride ever. A very handsome car.

    Very cool review Mike. Around here those cars are known as Le sapão, that is a affectionate way to mixture French and Portuguese, and it means "The big frog" as someone back in the day thought the car looked like a frog and the name ended catching. The car itself is cool and silky smooth to drive. The kit looks like typical Heller. I have a couple, and they tend to have some fitment issues, and rough parts, but with some TLC they build quite nicely.

    I built one last year in lockdown. Quite a nice kit but production of some of the smaller parts and chrome bits could have been better.

    I've built a cab and sedan DS19 Heller . I say the details of moulded part are irritating bad at some parts : rear axles are too weak , engine fits badly and need customizing to fit with front suspension. Boot lid should be higher than the rear wheel covers and not opposite. The gasket framing windscreen is missing also . These are essential details that a French model factory should know.
    Any I build one now with closed bonnet & doors to catch the beautiful DS design 👌👌

    good review. I've seen a couple of those and they really are weird cars. especially the steering wheel and dash. engine looks strange too.

    • @MagnusBrage
      @MagnusBrage 5 років тому

      Well, kits in general from Heller are quirky and strange compared to Revell kits.

    Citroens, are seriously ugly cars!!! That said I, would buy/build this kit... I'm not paying $45 for it but I, would pay a cheaper price for it...
