these issues are sooooo minor. and now they're fixed, and its really clear how much these details add up and greatly re-improve how the game looks and feels. i love it. super happy with the MCC team right now between these fixes and the mod tools

The original Xbox Halo 2 build didn't have these graphical issues, but the PC Vista port by Gearbox.. it's nice they restored the original fidelity, or most of it.
@@OMGtheykilledKenny42 Gearbox only did the CE port, H2 Vista was done by Hired Gun.
@@CCain365 Co-op is unplayable now? I remember me and my brother playing co-op a lot years ago since online matches were broken. Hope 343 fixes it soon.

Damn, props to the devs for bothering fixing this minor issues, more devs should have this mentality when making remasters and ports and not be lazy, because details matters and fans appreciate it a LOT.

@@Eltranquilomexican Incorrect color language results in elevated black levels and washed out colors, Reach already being a bit dull is heavily affected by this. There are also a whole host of less prominant issues that some UA-camrs have talked about.

I love this too but I have a grip with them. Sometimes i wanna play halo 2 in the updated graphics without dipping frames... xbox one x is basically unplayable on updated graphics... meanwhile my PC which is 5900x and 3060ti at 1440p 60fps STILL drops frames from time to time...for no reason...GPU and CPU never even hit 80% utilization...
@@edragyz8596 you forgot the fact that reach doesn’t play end credits at all which was great in the original as you saw the autumn fly all the way through

MCC team is doing an excelent job. Love it.
Is it just me or is the music audio for Halo 2 classic quieter than Halo 2 Anniversary? It could just be misinformation effect, however, when I compare both games’ audios the anniversary’s music is noticeably louder.
Glad to see them still making progress with the older titles, however I would REALLY like to see them implement the original end credits sequences for the games too as they are not a complete package without them.
I want the load screens.

The cutscenes for CE have been zoomed for weeks now, it needs patched ASAP.

@@Jellybob69 How annoying. I hope it gets fixed, unfortunately the flights aren't a priority and subsequently the bug reports aren't a priority for them for now.
I'm pretty sure CE is all but fixed now, only a few things to fix i suppose. What they have already done is amazing though.

The Return to Checkpoint and Save and Quit icons on the pause menu took a big fat L this update
They went from fairly simple, but with personality, to just some arrows
Necessary for improvement of the games. Sure it may hurt coop and speedrunning, but these long term fixes are important to making the games as they shipped over a decade ago, not some shitty vista port.
Dude, they were perfectly fine, it was just an aesthetic change that made those icons less interesting

Everyone send tickets detailing the issues with MCC, including all the parity, graphical issues for other games like Halo 3, Reach, and 4 please! It's the only way everything will get fixed!
Hope they fix Arbiters armour, it’s not as shiny as the og Xbox. The audio needs fixed on Xbox too.

Personally, I find this new style of showing the graphical changes a lot harder to follow. Props to you for keeping at it, though.
You should make a video on what is still missing (yes I know the spreadsheet exists) but it would be nice to see it put together with your editing
What method are you using to record og xbox? Some cables can make the image be blown out in colors
it would be neat if the "enhanced" halo 2 had the ingame cutscenes instead of the pre rendered ones
As much as I like the Blur cutscenes, the art style is a little off. Since cutscenes were custom animations, you cannot see the wackyness you set up with Blur’s cutscenes.

i want them to remove the Blur cutscenes or at least have them as an option i can disable while still keeping the enhanced graphics
Halo2 has the best enhanced graphics of any of the MCC ports hands down
@@alexanderrobins7497 The backwards Phantom on Sacred Icon intro and it being daytime always makes me laugh.
Unfortunately there are still some things that need to be fixed. dynamic lighting for instance still appears muddy and low quality in MCC compared to legacy. i can only hope they improve the quality of dynamic lights in a future update

Yep, but it’s all for preservation sake. Future new players who come along and play will see the game in its original intended form then. Not some slightly altered form that doesn’t look as good. :)

I'm glad the MCC is still getting updates that fix the original graphics. Even though I didn't play much of Halo 2 Vista back when I was younger, I appreciate the effort.

In my opinion fixing the issues with online campaign co-op should take priority over the graphical fixes, though both are important

I wonder if we'll see golden wraiths in QZ again someday. Also, I hope (this'll never happen) they will make a skull (for campaign) or forge mode that removes all vehicle weapons, replicating the old civilian vehicle host glitches in classic H2.
I really like your videos highlighting these updates. Were there any updates to H2A frame rate? Playing on Xbox Series X and I get periodic frame drops that can be quite jarring. Not really expected on this console.
Those happen from particles. Vehicles exploding and what not. You can really see it when using the scarab gun.

The visual fixes are nice. It'd be nice if they weren't accompanied by breaking the game in the process for the last two updates
Weapon carryover seems to not be in your list, and also a lot of issues could be resolved by simply making the game 30 tick. If you mixed season 7 physics with the current graphical changes, this would be pretty much the exact same as H2. I have no clue why they opted to add entirely new physics instead
Water is visible through fog in some multiplayer maps and it is visible all the time so when the player is really far u get to see somthing similar to a black whole in the distance surrounded by nothing. I believe all small bodys of water behave like this tho and probably since legacy.
One graphical issue that i found prominent in Halo CE MCC (Pc Version); are the shadows that are not synced well with the movement of the covenant dropship or even the pelican ! And this issue happens when a dropship or a pelican is about to take off or about to stand by for deployment. I noticed that the shadows sometimes stuck at one place, or they teleport in a fast way as to where the pelican or the dropship are, and this issue is not present on the original Xbox version. I hope they will be aware of it and fix it.
Halo 2 anniversary looked sooo great, especially the cutscenes. Wish they could do the same for Halo 3.

Did this fix the dust graphic bug that happens (only in classic graphics) when the scarab shoots into the underground highway?
I had no idea it was this broken and took this many patches to actually be fixed.
Is it true that enemy AI fire rate and maybe other things are tied to FPS and that is still busted?

I kind of regret playing Halo 1-4 on the MCC on my 1st play-through. Because I never got the original/intended experience.
I did that too but recently played 1 and 2 them on the original Xbox and the experience is completely different...i can't tell you what exactly it was as i am not even sure but if you get a chance definitely try it sometime

Yeah, even AI behaves slightly different in og Xbox (even between different language versions of the original Xbox copy) than Vista or MCC. Damage is applied differently, even on legendary. Grunt birthday party skull isn't a plasma nade explosion (which is important) like it was in the og H2, etc.
I think you'd only notice playing on legendary yourself though, since those differences really start to be noticeable when you're dying .5 of a second faster or slower than you normally would, and strats that work in mcc are consistently getting shut down.
It’s better to be honest to play on new hardware.

This is the only thing 343 has been doing right. At least it's nice to see they're still fixing their own issues.
Many of the downgrades on CE and H2 Classic graphics were not their fault, it was fault of the people who made the original og pc ports, sure MCC introduced a lot of new bugs and glitches but not everything was their fault
343 porting and fixing the PC ports of the games is something Bungie never did so, got to give credit where it’s due. True that MCC should’ve haven’t been released in the state that it was, but why the hell was MS pushing them to release a Halo game every year? Getting these games to play right at higher frame rates and resolution with additional features across platforms isn’t an easy task I imagine.
@@wolfdragox5563 It's their fault for selecting the broken ports to begin with, and it's their fault for not fixing anything prior to initial release, nor the decade following it's release.

Guys, I would REALLY appreciate it if you could help me out. I own MCC with all its games, but still, when I wanna play firefight or watch theatre it tells me I don't have certain DLC's. When I click to get it, it opens up a window where I only have the option to buy again or get it with the gamepass ($$$). Anyone know what's up with that? I mean, I bought the full MCC, so shouldn't I be able to update certain DLC to be able to use theatre mode...?

Idk why this matters. This doesn't change the overall experience. I played Halo 2 on both Xbox and PC and i never noticed those differences, i still enjoyed both the best. As for MCC i won't play it as long as the original game menus aren't there.
Yes. Including credits sequences and the color pallette of the main menu and loading screens, how it's meant to make a first time player feel interacting with the ui.
In halo 2 og Xbox, the rising pitch sound of selecting your profile even has an intended effect.
