the crazy thing is that Tobi ALWAYS had a great start!! She had a big false start back in 2018 Diamond League, so she reserved more in the starts!! But now she has her rythm and the sky is just the beginning for her!!

Let me tell you the reason a country as big as Nigeria doesn't have more athletes and generally sportsmen and women even though we have a lot of talent. It isn't supported in the grassroot. For example, in things like the NUGA games, you have your professors and doctors asking you "if that is the primary reason your parents sent you to school" a very negative place for churning out sports talent. When you find people like this, they need to be celebrated fiercely because these were the ones that did it against all odds.

    • @proverbalizer

unfortunately Nigeria as a country and as a government mostly exists to frustrate the dreams and talent of Nigerian people. Nigeria has close the 300 million people. Jamaica has 3 million. The Jamaicans that are winning so many gold medals are mostly of Nigerian and Ghanaian ancestry, but the difference is they don't have to fight their own government just to survive, and they have the coaching and athletic facilities to create an environment where talent can be nurtured to flourish.

Scattered across the globe. If you literally see the names of young up & coming athletes with either Naija blood or names representing other countries in track & field or even other sports like American football, football & basketball you would be amazed

Even there are a good amount of them representing other countries & be amongst the top in their events. Take Salwa Eid Naser for example, she is half Nigerian & was brought up in Nigeria but ended up representing Bahrain. At the last World Championships, ran 48.14 which is at minimum top 5 of all time over 400m and won the gold

Nigeria is indeed on the cusp for change. On the eve of an election year in which Nigerian youths are mobilizing in an unprecedented manner for a revolution to unseat a clueless gerontocracy that has plundered and plunged the country into the world's poverty capital, Amosun's watershed World Athletics championship win is a major inspiration to the Nigerian youths that victory in their ongoing revolution to install the youthful Labour Party Presidential candidate, Peter Obi, is possible - if they continue to believe, like Amosun did in her hurdles event. They even robbed that hardworking girl, her 12.06 sec record is legal and ought to have stood. They just looked for wind by all means to stop her because they knew that 12.06 sec would stand for another 50 years and an African country holding that would be too hard for them to bear. Amusan should pray hard because those racists including the World Athletics CEO, will do anything to find any foreign substance in her blood just to taint her achievement and demoralize her from breaking her own record because it is clear that she is full of confidence at the moment.
