When I saw Catch Me If You Can, I wondered if Frank Abagnale really appeared on To Tell The Truth, or if they used artistic liberty with this detail when making the movie. Frank Abagnale never saw his dad again after he ran away from home, like he did in the movie, but this detail about the game show is true.
He did see hid mom and his dad , because his entire story is fake .The truth about Frank is out , he was in jail as a teen and never did claim the things Frank has claimed .
Ferdinand Waldo Demara was "The Great Imposter" played by Tony Curtis. Catch Me if You Can (Frank Abagnale's story) didn't come out until 25 years later. That's why we all could identify him immediately but none of those celebrities of the day could.
I saw him tell his story on FedTalk, and even though I didnt recognize his face, I recalled him saying he was 6foot tall at the age of 16. so I was pretty sure it was the biggest guy.

Actually, it looks like they just took the original footage and did some editing. When Joe says, “Our first guest, he’s made a career out of being the most outrageous impostor that we’ve ever come across on this show, and you’re gonna see what I mean,” his inflections, pauses, and hand gestures during this clip and in the movie are *exactly the same*. The only difference is that in the movie, he was placed behind his podium, and the panel was already seated in the movie.
Also, he and the panelists look exactly the same, right down to the clothing. Also, there is no way in hell he did not age a day between 1977 and 2002.
Caretaker82 In the movie he asked who arrested him but in this no one asked that.
no shit sherlock
A credit card I used to carry sent out a monthly newsletter than contained a column by Frank Abagnale on ways to avoid fraud.
That was awesome
"Nipsey-russell the poet laurent of television nipsey-russell's juvenile-jury".
Omg I love Nipsey ❤
FIRST PANEL: I just started watching, and after only the intro, I think it's the one in the middle (No. 2) - you've got to have a full head of nice hair and a certain look to be suave enough to con many people.
FOLLOW-UP: Whew! So close there, and I started to believe it was No. 3 after the interviews - and No. 3's real line of work definitely explains why his answers were so good.
Soy de Chile y este show se copió en mi país en los años 70 .....fue de gran éxito ....se llamo..."quien soy yo "....
Bill Cullen always impressed me as an intelligent man.
"Catch Me If You Can" had that segment, in that Biopic.
Cmiyc was the best movie i ever saw
The movie made him look like an innocent kid who got in over his head, but if you read the book he really was just a common criminal.
Far from common, he was an intelligent criminal mind.
Just a common criminal, after four years, have you changed your mind or you still staying with your original, dumb comment.
Not common. Genius!
@@marksauce2383 Well now it turns out that the entire story was made up.
She litteraly said "number 2 looks like the guy you trust as a doctor or a lawyer" and thats why she didnt vote for him. But thats the point. Or am i dumb and they won. I dont understand This game
Well, I guess he's not really convincing when he's actually telling the truth 😂 kidding aside, I really adore the man he is now!
Thanks for posting this, I have been searching for this episode with Frank in it.
And.... that.... is why he was able to fool everyone for so long.... he's the kind of guy that nobody really notices or pays attention to.
This guy has stones. The FBI realized that.
Even while telling the truth....what a bad ass lol
Ferdinand Waldo Demara was "The Great Imposter" played by Tony Curtis. Catch Me if You Can (Frank Abagnale's story) didn't come out until 25 years later. That's why we all could identify him immediately but none of those celebrities of the day could.
11:10- "no wonder he got away with all that"
Yea my thoughts exactly
Lmao
Kitty Carlisle was a regular on To Tell the Truth, going as far back as the 50's.
Cracks me up how she walks out onto the show in the beginning, like she's the freaking Queen of England! 😂
I am surprised Buzzr hasn't aired this episode yet.
I saw him tell his story on FedTalk, and even though I didnt recognize his face, I recalled him saying he was 6foot tall at the age of 16. so I was pretty sure it was the biggest guy.
I just love Nipsy.
"This parole you have … is it real?"
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I watched a 2017 interview and the changes are major - however, Frank said he was a tall 6 foot- his brothers were tall and his father was tall- that helped in his work at 16 imposter- he definitely is the tallest in the group
His story is fake , the truth has finally come out , he never did any of the things he has claimed .
Nipsy’s Gate Crasher is a guy who year after year passed by ticket gates into the Super Bowl
The hockey coach was interesting! And thank you, Nipsy, for the ode to the women with a little meat on their bones!
he is too good to con them that he is not the guy .
