- Chances are we’ve all found ourselves stranded with a flat battery in the past - a situation that would be even worse if you then realized your mobile phone is also flat.
What about camping and keeping multiple devices charged up?
The Laser Portable Power Bank and Car Jump Starter has it covered.
If you own a new car - chances are you’re unlikely to get a flat battery.
Auto off headlights, audible warnings; many cars let you know if you’re about to walk away and leave anything powered up.
But it has happened to me many times in the past - those damn Barina headlights that I kept forgetting to turn off.
It can happen though, so here’s a useful little gadget that you’ll be glad you’ve got in the boot.
First the fun bit - Hyundai are graciously letting me use the Santa Fe as a guinea pig. Lets deliberately drain the battery.
With the accessories turned on, we left the high beams, the hazard lights, stereo, interior lights and air-conditioning on. Every USB and 12V outlet had something plugged in to drain the batter as quickly as possible.
It didn’t take long! Within about an hour, we were in a pickle.
Laser is an Australian company - and their portable power bank and car jump starter has enough juice to jump-start a car 13 times - pretty impressive.
Now to test it out.
It’s very simple, connect the clamps to the corresponding positive and negative terminals on the battery, power up the battery pack then hit the ignition button.
The battery pack is charged via micro USB and either a 12v or mains power.
It needs at least 20% charge to jump start a car and at full charge can jump start up to 13 cars.
It has a wide range of devices covered - micro USB, mini USB, even the older style Apple connector. It weighs only 400g and retails for 129.95.
It also has a built in LED light with three settings, single beam, slow flash or fast flash, so it can be used either to see what you’re doing or as a signal to other motorists.
It’s got a Lithium battery that holds charge for 6 months - so you can pop it in the boot or even the glove box and just remember to check it a few times a year.
I might even stash one in my handbag to charge my phone and iPad on the run.

I purchased a jump starter on ebay 3yrs ago and had to use the device 2 days ago after the car battery failed What a lifesaver!
The title of this video is very misleading as it makes no differentiation between a conventional powerbank and this powerbank/jumpstarter device
I got the Ozito jump starter power bank from Bunnings and it works wonders 🙏🏽
I noticed that when you mentioned the usb ports inside the car, you described them as 12 volt usb ports.
usb is actually 5 volts... not 12.
Just thought I'd clarify that for our viewers.
Great product and the instructions were clear to understand, thank you :)
There are various models of portable jump starters. Please state which model is being used .
should I connect the negative to the frame or is it safe to connect to the negative terminal?
This is ok for small petrol cars but is not enough power to jumpstart a diesel SUV or truck 3L or larger engine. Use a stronger powerbank for diesel vehicles.
sure, even a proper battery won't jump-start a truck, may need 2-4 batteries
@atu4965 This is not quite true. I have carried a second big lead battery in the big diesel SUV during previous winters as backup. But now don't need it because I've fitted an Ecoflow 800W Alternator Charger and the Ecoflow Delta 2 battery power station is able to reverse charge the main engine starter battery. All controlled remotely from the phone 📱 app.
@@Globetrotter-1 yes, I believe that lithium-based power bank is small, light and more powerful than a traditional lead battery. I used to be a kenworth electrician , and old days we have to use 4 lead batteries to jump start a Kenworth truck.
Thank you!
It's not diy. U just used a car jump starter. ☹️☹️

this is not what one would expect by reading the title. And what the sales lady tells you is the same what you get to read and see in the Chinese manual which comes with the power bank.
hey lady do you happen to have a jump starter in your bag? :)
This is NOT DIY.
only the cost of a brand new battery for the car.
save your selves the hassle and become an racv member for alot less and have the added bonuses.
You like calling them and waiting for them to turn up?
Yea they rock up an hour an a half kater to tell y you need a tow. To his mate the mechanic who charges you your daughter.
Thought this was gonna show how to jump start from a normal power bank, anyone can figure this out....these things come with instructions that are essentially idiot proof.....
Those leads are far to short. Some cars, if the battery is in the boot under the spare, the bonnet terminals are sometimes spaced far apart. Those would not reach on my Audi A4
then try put the negative on the ground, not battery negative
Why is the steering wheel on wrong side ?
?
It depends on the country. Canada and US has it in left. UK, India and few other countries has in the right.
she's pretty
useless video. should of trusted my instinct and closed as soon as I saw a woman giving car advice
😂😂😂
😂😂😂
You scared she might fix it right the first time, unlike the men. Where you have to go shop to shop to find one that has enough sense to do it right.
this woman kind of looks like donald thrump
