The last time I heard this, was when I was three years old. I specifically remember my mum showing me a scan of my sister. We was in the car, and this was playing in the background.
This music is basically one my earlierst memories...
I have been trying to find this peice of music for about 7 years now.
Amazing how a peice of music can burn a memory into your mind forever...

I saw this movie when I was about 13 years old and I will never forget it. It was such a touching story. Vangelis' music was fabulous as well. The music fit perfectly with the movie. Bravo!

on holiday back in 1980's when i was at school my Dad, Mum my sister and I all went down to the South of France by car - going on the motorail - we then stayed 2 weeks year after year in a place called Menton, Cote D'Azur. I remember listening to this in the long car journeys on my Sony Walkman. Brings back so many memories. I lost my Dad January 2010 to Cancer. As I am listening to this I visualise my long conversations with him over a lunch at the villa we stayed in.Dad I miss you so much xxx

Wish I could find this movie to show my kids. We hear of it coming for DVD, but not yet? My dad and I loved this movie. This was his favorite Vangelis soundtrack. Gosh I miss him. We shared a love for all of Vangelis' music!

Yes there is a Japanese DVD & Blu-ray no English audio or subs but I think there is English subs on the Chinese one but not sure. The French label "Carlotta" is going to release it on February the 4Th on DVD and Blu-ray but I doubt they will be any English audio or subs.

Charles Brown Bought it on Amazon. Original japanese dubbing (which I like best) with french subtitles. Just sad there is no french audio on it should a french version had ever been released.This week-end I gonna go cry baby mode.... T_T猫パパはもう悲しくて涙が降れるにゃん

Hi, the original French dub is 40 minutes shorter than the actual movie that's why it isn't on the blu-ray.

Saw this film many years ago. Not only was Vangelis' score unforgettable but experiencing this masterpiece was a privelege. I felt more like an observer watching this life story unfold. It was quite an emotional and personal moment.

Vangelis in my view is one the most important composures on the planet. Winning oscars for his soundtracks to Chariots of fire as well as Antarctica. Blending the most heartfelt graceful tones ever created. He takes his music to other worlds using his keyboards and acoustic instruments. Mixing sounds to achieve that most important tone only a music lover can remember. Brilliant musician to a chaotic world.

It is a fantastic music, it raises you to the stars, it´s the music of angels! And it´s really worth listening, because it´a a tribute to the perfect world that God has created... I was yesterday with some friends in the Switzerland Alps and I almost got lost in the 1 metre deep snow. We were lucky to have fool monn and we could still see the signs on the trees. Such an experience makes you think life is even more precious than ever... and apreciate what you have here on Earth!

I've always been a big fan of Tangerine Dream but I just downloaded this soundtrack the other week and "The Theme From Antarctica" is superbly mind elevating! The 80's is a decade of so many accomplishments and I can only be jealous of many of whom had the mature age capacity to truly appreciate such mystical reverence in musical genius as this surely exemplifies well above even today's standards. I was roughly 5 years old when this was released. A true mystical musical piece of art!

This song makes me sad a bit... It reminds me of my youth on sundays afternoon on tv there was a small program that showed all the movies that where on the cinemas. It was only the letters rising up of the names of the movies and where they where screened and had music in the backround and they played this one a few times... It used to make me sad cause whenever i heard this i knew it was sunday and had to go to school next day early in the morning :P Still, those were good times.
