This is interesting, because you are showing how to do night photography without a tripod, which I never even dreamed of doing until now. You have a great eye for composition.
Hi, Craig! Another great video. You clearly show how to go shooting with purpose after planning. And, more important, you make me want to go out there and look for beauty in everyday places. Thank you.
Black and white can really be atmospheric and you have done these images justice. The noise also adds to them, not that I noticed much noise. Going to give this technique a go.
My absolute favourite video on UA-cam. Very inspirational. I went out and got some very pleasing shots around the Wapping area. The street lamps against the Victorian houses and warehouses worked really well, and I got nothing but positive feedback from others. Many thanks Craig. Absolutely love your channel
I really enjoy your clips, very informative and intuitive. Your photos brought to mind Brassai on your night shots which are very beautiful. Thanks for the video!
The video camera is hunting color balance in the opening sequences..love your night time stills! Wishing that the pandemic was over and we Americans could visit the UK again. Leeds and York are on my list...📷
Inspirational Craig. I was in London only recently and now I want to go back! I'd be too self conscious to do what you were doing but it's London! Who cares?
Night photography in London, loved it. Reminded me of our little holiday around Europe a few years ago and we would wonder the streets at night taking images.
*Notes* He is going for b&w, slightly grainy, night time photography Settings/things he used: -High ISO 800-1000 it depends depends (the more light there is, the lower the ISO) -prime lenses -wide aperture f/1.8 -camera stabilizer -shutter spead 1/22 down to 1/6, also depends on the lighting Watch out, so you don't overexpose the picture..! Nice ideas of things to shoot: Windows, percuilar doors, street lamps, alleyways, signs, people, reflections etc 8:209:069:49
This, is the "Look" that I have been chasing, for an awful long time! It seems so "Obvious" to me now, that shooting at night, is the way to achieve the stark, B+W effect, that I have been striving for. Looking at your, and other Photographers work, I just can not believe, that I did not realize this, much sooner, what on earth, was I (or not) thinking of! I am going out, right now, (10.30 PM) to take a few shots, although, I wish it was pissing down, so as to add a bit of "Atmosphere". Nice work, and thanks.
Great video with some terrific images. Cant say Ive ever thought about venturing out with my camera on a cold rainy winters night but now I see what I'm missing.
Very nice little photowalk i have to say.. im craving for London and walk around and explore the city with my little camera... well done Craig... Fredrik.
It's good to see that you take pictures without a tripod :-D I've always had a guilty conscience because I often take pictures without a tripod. You have chosen very nice places and made great photos again. Thanks for the video!
Looks like I'm late to the party but I'm going to repeat what everyone before me has already said, superb images. I'm loving black and white photography lately and those shots are inspirational Greg
Wonderful video! It reminded me on what I have done with B&W Film years ago. And I decided to repeat with my digital camera 📷 here in Regensburg, Bavaria. Thanks for the inspiration!
Great black and white shots, i think it really suits older and or style buildings. Moody the rain adds an edge to it. Yer braver then me doing this at night with top Olympus gear.? Well done.
Awesome video. This is my favourite type of photography...the b&w Ye Olde lamplit, wet cobbled street scene type of shot. Also awesome timing because I'm headed to London next month (from Australia) and plan to spend a few nights doing the same thing. You've given me some great ideas. By the way, I looked at the Clink Museum on Google street view...one lamp on, one off....during the day. Would love to know who or what controls them. I might stick my head in when I'm there. Thanks
Beautiful moody shots, every one of them. You must have tripods for hands to be shooting at such slow shutter speeds and yet achieve such sharp images, even if it is a wide lens. I was hoping you would include the lady with the umbrella walking up to you in the shot at 9:15. It would have added mystery to the photograph.
I hope comments on old videos reach you somehow. Great shots of London after dark. I did the same thing once in Barcelona. It reminds me of Brassai. Just wondering on the technical side if you were shooting Raw and post process in BW, or if they were taken as in-camera Jpegs in Monochrome setting. Some of these I suspect would have looked great with the Mono II Art filter. I know you are re-evaluating the whole video thing. I hope you continue to do so as they are a great source of inspiration to me (and hopefully others), especially since I also shoot with Olympus.
Luis Martins Yes, raw capture and processed in Silver Efex...as visualised at time of capture. It’s all happening at e6 Luis. Quite a party going on with lots of new videos! 🎉
Ok,, I have watched this video 3 times now and every time I love it more. I have finally decided on two things. First, I'm going out into Annapolis MD and try to find some night scenes using a hand-held approach and then converting to B&W. Second, I haven't been to London in more than 15 years (except at Heathrow) and didn't care for it much when I was there. However, looking at this video, I've decided it is time to revisit the city and do an evening tour that follows your path and see what I get out of it. Thanks for the video and thanks for the inspiration.
loving these b&w shots, well done and many thanks...
Loving those jazzy beats with my photography lesson.
This is interesting, because you are showing how to do night photography without a tripod, which I never even dreamed of doing until now.
You have a great eye for composition.
Good job,, the music really fits! Very nice photographs. Thanks.
Very nice informative and excellent music, to colour the night time scene.
Sir, you are a master! Nobody else on UA-cam has inspired me as much as you have. Thank you.
The rain gives good reflections. Love B&W and very nice photos📷👍🏼

UA-cam is full of want to be photographers, however you are the real thing. Thank You!!! Absolutely excellent work!!!
And that mean?
Terrific shots. Those wet streets and cobbles look excellent. Moody and functional. Great.
I love this mans photography... simple yet well structured.... Thank you sir
Loverly stuff!
Great shots. They reminded me of film noire with the background music. All that was missing was the cigarette smoke and the private eye voice over.
Your compositions are beautiful.
Going to London next month and looking forward to all the shots i can get everywhere.
It's actually amazing how much better the photos look in black and white
This sort of night shooting is definitely hitting all of my buttons! Can't wait to go out tonight and shoot!
Great photos Craig especially the ones around Theed Street, so atmospheric and inspiring. Thank you.
I really enjoy your clips, very informative and intuitive. Your photos brought to mind Brassai on your night shots which are very beautiful. Thanks for the video!
The processed to B & W, simply excellent.
Just what I have been searching for. Night streets with camera settings. Thanks so much! Subscribed.
Great images, love the old style lamps.
Never disappointed. Great video. Always look forward to the next piece of content. Thank you for taking us along in your travels.
Well done with showing your pre-shot view of the location combined with the final product for composition analysis!!!!
Thank you for another excellent video! Beautiful B&W photos!
Love the atmosphere you have captured in these locations. Thanks for another great video.
Superb images and a wonderful demonstration of your creative process not to mention your determination to boot. Thanks.
Ah yes, nothing like wet cobbles. I especially liked your last shot. Inspiring!
Gorgeous pics. I love your B and W photography. Thanks mate
The video camera is hunting color balance in the opening sequences..love your night time stills!

Beautiful locations. Great photographs. Love the black and white!
I really enjoyed this one. I am inspired to get off my bum and go out in the rain. Keep them coming.
You never let us down Craig. Pelting snow over here in Ireland and I'm supposed to be heading to Budapest in the morning? That will be fun!

Love your work. Thanks for the tips and inspiration.
Wonderful photography Sir. Most of the photos are on slow shutter speed & how it is managed with hand-held camera.

Another great video Craig, together with cracking images.
Nice work. I would have liked some of those in color with the WB at around 6500 to give it a nice warm glow.
fantastic, B&W..., Thank! Craig.
