It's one of the best mons when you can use TMs. But the opponents only run level up moves in gen 1, so it only has Hypnosis, Barrage and Stomp. There isn't even a 4th move.
My first time playing Pokemon Blue back when it released. I used a water stone on shellder, while I was on Cinnabar Island it jumped from level 20 to level 100.
He doesn't play the Gen 1 meta. Enemy characters in game make very poor use of Executor. And it's lack of Razor Leaf doesn't do it any favors in the Grass Type role tbh
The level 100 nidoking brings me back to the Missingno Xpert days, about a decade ago. He has a series covering basically every glitch in Yellow and his very first episode was on the level 100 nidoking
love to see missingnoxpert getting the love he deserves, albeit he has gone for a long long time now, hope patterz sees his videos and do a reaction video to them.
In the early 2000s we had to take a class in blind typing in middle school. It makes typing written drafts up a lot easier; not sure how much it would help you withdraw the right mon.
11:28 Keyboarding is a class taught in high school on how to type without looking at the keyboard. The keyboard would be covered in a rubber cover to prevent the typer from knowing what key they would be pressing.
I mean, you may have been thinking about surfing on the statues but, you CAN fish on them too. That is very much a thing you can do, so you weren't wrong.
The funny thing about that nidoking glitch is that we did a proper explanation of the entire process and how to get a bunch of different pokemon in our VERY latest video, so its hilarious that you reacted to this very video in the present day!
0:18 Pat: But did you know the 14 obscure secrets in Gen I Pokémon? I don't think you do... Me who knew every single one: *._.* •=• *._.* Btw no I didn't watch the video beforehand
The idea of being able to evolve Pokémon that normally needed evolution stones without said stones sounds cool for those who wanted to complete the Pokédex. If we ever get Legends Kanto, that cut island in the Gen 1 games that was brought up would be a neat addition to introduce.
1st fact is just a very specific version of the trainer flight glitch. 2nd follows the same principles of interrupting an event with the pause screen. 3rd you can also activate trade evos with this. 10th you can do both fishing and surfing in statues. 11th trainer flight can generate any pokemon, it's also part of what makes missingno happen, all missingno requires is you loading pokemon # 152-238 most of which turn into gen 2 pokemon if traded up. There are other glitches that result in other glitch mons too, many of which are way weirder than missingno.
You can get Nidoking in Red/Blue too. But it's harder, as you need to get encounter with a wild pokemon and die as you meet the last trainer in the forest. You can then encounter Nidoking on the path to the Victory Road Or it was something like that. It's just the "Mew Glitch" from the Nugget Bridge performed in different place (Gen 1 has a lot of places where tou can do it with Teleport/Escape Rope/Dig/fainting) to get different pokemon In Lavemder Town I found Missingno this way
Nice video. I know the most things. With the Long Lengh Trainer Glitch which is the one used for Nidoking and Mew you can generate nearly all Pokemon. I got my Gengar this way.
Modern glitching is mostly discovered through code analysis - they know how the memory is manipulated so they can figure out what's needed to set the correct memory to the correct value for a specific encounter.
When you look at the teams Blue had, you might consider Exeggutor one of his aces since it's one of his top used Pokemon across teams even without the starter
I do not care, the PokeDoll exploit is canon to me. Instead of defeating Marowak's vengeful spirit in battle, the player calms her with what can easily be interpreted as an act of kindness, offsetting Team Rocket's cruelty and in my opinion supporting the themes of the game and series better than the intended route.
That's a fair take. But I also like the story of a stupidly talented prodigy storming the tower to save Mt Fuji and crushing everything in her path until she gets to the top, where Mr Fuji teaches her a valuable lesson in caring for pokemon on a wider level than just your companions.
I didnt know 2 of those. And I tried out the Mew glitch on my original blue cartridge before and figured out how that glitch worked (yes my blue worked until 2018 then the battery died). You are able to get every Pokémon with that glitch, if you want to. :D
Exeggutor is really great in gen 1. For a time it was considered one of the 4 mandatory pokemon on all competitive ou teams, along with the 3 normals [Chansey Snorlax Tauros]. It's part psychic type, gets sleep powder/explosion, and is very specially bulky. Pretty much the only thing in ou you need to watch out for are blizzard/ice beaming chanseys.
Uh... dude Exeggutor is amazing in gen 1, it stands with Snorlax, Kangaskhan, Chansey and Tauros as competetive play's big four, the only outright, undeniably better Pokémon was Mewtwo
There are a few different ways to get the Nidoking at the beginning of the game, like he says they are all variations of the Mew glitch. The way the level skip to lv100 works has to do with the fact that you weren’t intended to be able to have lv1 Pokémon in the game. If you give the lv1 Pokémon less exp than it takes to get to lv2, the game gets confused and warps the Pokémon to lv100. But if you give it enough to get to lv2, it will just go to lv2 and you’ll be stuck grinding like normal.
funny thing about level 1 pokemon: not only can they just level up to level 100 immediately, they also freeze the game when attempting tl withdraw one from the PC to my knowledge, this is why pokemon hatch at level 5 in gen 2, i don't know if they fixed level 1 pokemon in gen 2, but since you could do trade backs, they probably didn't want to risk it
7:20 also that old man shows up in a bunch of wrong places in some dialogues, like the cinnabar island gym "locked door" text popup, I'm pretty sure he has a name, he's iconic, idk why he just shows up but I love him
you know about the forced battle exploit. its the same exploit that lets you get mew and missingno (more or less). the difference being that you are forcing addresses and tables from different pulls, so you get a different encounter pool. It does make me wonder though, if you can then do the max item glitch in the forest, or if that is tied to the cinnabar address.
Most of the glitches shown are actually pretty well known. And some have even been used in speedruns before the current routes The first one shown is known as "Trainer fly" and it can be performed with anything that teleports you (so escape rope, dig, fly, teleport..) and has variety of effects. Most famous cases are the "MissingNo glitch" or the "Mew glitch" which both are just applications of the glitch. The level 100 Pokémon thing for example was used in some really old RB glitched speedruns to gatch a level 100 Gengar in Mt. Moon. I don't remember the specifics on how the level of the wild pokemon that shows up is calculated (other than that it has something to do with game reading data involving the placement of your pokemons moves and the amount of PP the moves have left.) And as to how they become level 100 from level 1 is because in RBY it is actually impossible to normally get a level 1 Pokémon, so when it is levelled up with just enough experience for them to get 1 level, it actually just overflows to level 100. The Brock skip is also pretty well known and there indeed is a walk through walls version (Known as "Brock through walls") it also takes advantage on the game reading your pokemons move positions and amounts of PP and if you have very specific pokemon with very specific stats with very specific amounts of moves (I think the speedruns used to use bulbasaur and had to lower its growl and tackle PP in viridian forest to certain levels), after the savequit you can just literally walk through walls if you do everything correctly. These two glitches combined allow things like reverse badge order runs and such.
As a private security officer to answer your question of what do I do if someone is trying to access some location I'm protecting, I stand in front of them. That way if they try to move me by force I can then legally place hands on them as an answer and that's not something generally that anyone wants lol
Imagine skipping Brock and forgetting. And then when you get to Indigo Plateau, the guard tells you you don't have the Boulder badge. So you go back and absolutely obliterate Brock!
I like how Patterz expected all the comments to be about him being wrong about the statues when in reality they are all about how absolutely wrong his opinion on Gen 1 Exeggutor is.
If we include Mew and Mewtwo, Exeggutor is at absolute worst the 8th best Pokémon in Gen 1 for single battles. It’s a bad play though mon for much of the game, but incredibly powerful at high levels and a perfect fit for the team of the final boss
Gen 1 may have been held together with paper mache, hopes and dreams but it's still put toegther better than Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, I've literally never have seen gen 1 crash execpt if I went INSANELY out of the way and used the most hard to do glitches, whereas BD/SP just randomly crash for no reason. I even had this happen playing Sword and Shield.
Exeggutor: resists every other Grass-type in the game, only weak to flying, ice, and fire (since bug was so ass that even a 4× weakness wasn't worrisome) and immune to ghost, is Psychic-type (the most _broken_ type in Gen 1), has high Special, and has access to Sleep Powder. Patterrz: Exeggutor was dogwater in Gen 1. Me: 🤨 Bruh, your youth is showing. Exeggutor was one of the best Pokémon in Gen 1.
"Exeggutor is dog water in Gen 1". Exeggutor is ranked 4th on the OU viability rankings in Gen 1. i dont think anyone in the comment really understands how bad Exeggotor was its level up moves before using a leaf stone were terrible it learns no psychic type moves at all with out the use of TMs and solarbeam is its only move learnt by level up that dealt damage so yeah even tho it had psychic typing it was still trash to use in gen 1 if u didnt use tms on it to make it good and most ppl growing up definitely didnt waste the tm for psychic on their Exeggotor
