Boeing is in a world of turmoil right now. Sure hope they can survive the mess they have put themselves in. I luv their 787 & the 757 was & still is a great plane. Hope they can once again be competitive!!! Thanks for this update on the 797. 🙏🇺🇸
I worked for Boeing about 15 years in Quality. Boeing shipped a plane with over 800 defects to the customer disclosing one defect fixed. I raised major concerns to the managers and they dismissed or ignored the issues. I left Boeing for good to never return. I do not fly Boeing planes at all.
No Boeing announcement about the 797 has been made. They said "An aircraft project when it happens will be made in the PNW." It was a nod to prevent a union strike which failed. They are on strike now.
If and when Boeing finally decides on a 797 configuration and gets approved by the board to present it to airlines then everyone will be duly shocked. And at the rate they’re going it might not happen in our lifetime.
The problems begin when bean counters McDonnell Douglas took over. The 797 should be a widebody ,something the size of a 767-200. I don’t care what they say. If someone’s going to be in a plane transcon or 6-11 hours or longer the plane should be a widebody.
Boeing needs to stop dreaming and start building better-quality aircraft. China's airplanes, AMCA, are surpassing Boeing's quality by far. Also, Boeing needs to take care of its employees and stop giving Calhoun a $45M raise.
Just another dreamer 😊

Boeing should first produce an aircraft without defects.

787-3 reborn. Boeing needs to fix a lot of things before it opens a new can of worms.

Will the 797 be single aisle or twin aisle?

Can we talk about if it will stay in the sky and not, you know, explode?!!
Looks like a Dreamliner
Yes it’s based on the 787 Dreamliner
It's not the aircraft it is management. Money hungry management will bring Boeing down.
Rubbish

Another wing and tube design; same old engineering .. 20th century design (it's now the 21st century)
If it works as well as the 777 there in the shite

does boing still have the money to build it? anyone wants to buy one? LOL.
Just another failure. Besides, it looks like the company is going belly up anyhow.
