I just bought this for my L class bobbin, and I love it! I had problems with by bottom tension and it took me 2 days to get my bobbin tension correct. I purchased this for a new set of bobbin cases I have, but the tension was just too tight, and I didn't feel like putting in more hours just to get it right. This gauge solved the problem in less than 5 minutes
Hey, I purchased it and it works great for my sideless bobbins, but with the magnetic ones the minimum tension I can get (even with the screw off entirely) is 230nm, I like to work around 170nm for flats. Do you guys experience that as well? The magnetic bobbins are from Madeira.

Depends on what you're doing, which model you have, what type of bobbin you have etc... That and you juss sort of need to get a feel for it as well.
Will this work for bobbins that are not full?
My bobbin wasn't full when I tried it.
