In 40.000 BCE , Ancient Australoid (Sahulian) arrived in Sahul Continent (nowadays Australia & Papua) later spread toward surrounding islands of nowadays called, Bismarck, Solomon, Vanuatu, New Caledonia and Fiji.
The Sahulians were ancient people migrated from Africa, have close relationship with Dravidian of Southern India, Sinhalese, Maldivians, Andamanese islander in Indian Ocean, Orang Asli in Malaya and Aeta of the Luzon.
The last glacial period ended the Ice Age and the rise of sea level separated Papua and Australia and it surrounding islands.
In 4000 BCE, Austronesian from surrounding maritime southeast Asia (moluccan alifuru and mindanao islander) arrived in coastal Papua. They intermixing with sahulian people in coastal Papua both genetically and culturally, developing a disticnt Melanesian culture.
Melanesians adopted stone tools and austronesian language, as well as maritime skills. Melanesian seafarers spread toward islands of around Papua toward toward pacific ocean.
In 1600 BCE, New wave of Austronesian, known as Lapita People arrived in northern Papua, and later spread toward islands of nowadays Bismarck Solomon, Vanuatu, New Caledonia, Fiji and deep in the uninhibited islands of Samoa and Tonga.
Lapita voyagers brings the knowledge of obsidian stone as tools and distinct pottery pattern dented with shark teeth. Some Lapita people intermarried with existing Melanesians and became the ancestors of many coastal melanesian such as Kanak, Fijian and ni-vanuatu.
THe rest of Lapita voyagers sailed deep into the pacific, settled in uninhabited island of Samoa and Tonga, Later spread toward islands in Polynesia.

Melanesian and Austronesian have been practicing intermarriage as well as cultural and language exchange in thousand of years, but they are now forget about this fact.. Indonesian, Malaysian and might be Phillipines in fact also have Melanesian blood and genetic more or less.. Mollucans people have half Melanesian-Austronesian features.. means western Indonesia (as well as Malay) actually still have real family bound with eastern Indonesia include Papuans
dont forget that before Austronesian came to South East Asian archipelago, there were native Negrito tribes existed in Sumatra-Java-Malacca Peninsula-islands of Phillipines.. this tribes also the branch of Melanesian people, this can explain why Malay race sometimes have various skin tone and also have various hair type, while original Austronesian people tend to be have more light skin tone and always have stright black hair type (almost close to east Asian)

Ternyata Maluku bukan Melanesia, melainkan Austronesia.. Selama ini beta kira Maluku adalah Melanesia.
This history is backwards. The Austronesians did not introduce technology to the Sahulians. The empires of Sahul already had established civilizations and technology even iron smithing from the last ice age. The ancestors of the Western Melanesians even made Jadeite jewelry polished to a degree that matches modern jewelry crafting.
Melanesia, Polynesia and Micronesia is Austronesian, only Papua is not.
Kebanyakan orang Maluku sebenarnya memang bukan orang Melanesia. Melanesia itu grup daripada suku-suku di sekitar barat Pasifik yang memiliki kulip lebih gelap/kehitaman. Jadi Melanesia bukan satu kesatuan, tapi hanya nama untuk kumpulan bagi suku-suku yang berbeda yang memiliki kulit gelap/kehitaman. Suku-suku Melanesia ada yang tergolong kedalam Austronesia, Papua, dan orang Selat Torres. Biasanya orang Austronesia di Melanesia hanya mempunyai DNA Austronesia (atau lebih tepatnya DNA Asia Timur) kurang dari 50%. Sementara kebanyakan suku di Maluku itu DNA nya masih 60-80% DNA Austronesia (DNA Asia Timur). Orang Maluku ini lebih mirip orang Polynesia komposisi DNA nya yaitu sekitar 70-95% DNA Austronesia dan sisanya DNA Papua. Orang Maluku pun kalau kita banding samping-sampingan dengan orang Papua berdarah asli pasti terlihat jelas perbedaannya. Orang Maluku lebih cerah kulitnya (light skin) daripada orang Papua berdarah asli.
@@lyd4712 iyah memang benar untuk sekarang fisik org maluku itu berbeda dengan orang papua pada umumnya, tapi setau saya pada waktu maluku belum dijajah dan belum adanya perkawinan campuran, fisik nenek moyang kami terlihat hampir sama persis dengan, orang papua , itu dibuktikan dengan adanya satu suku asli maluku di pulau seram.. Mereka fisiknya sama persis dengan orang papua pada umumnya.
