yeah, I wondered if that was useful at all. Take a Laundry Machine (etc.), and keep putting it through smaller and smaller shredders until you get a pig pile of fine powder. It's probably inefficient to do that, but it would be a cool thing to see
They probably run the junk through the large shredder first in order to separate the recyclable items (ie: washing machine metal parts, lawnmower metal parts, refrigerator metal parts) then the other stuff can be disposed of.
Why not do that, it all turns to dust sooner or later anyway, that we breathe in, or falls to the ground and returns to the earth, to be processed by bacteriae or used by living organisms as minerals.
Shred a Garage! Ok, you have already shredded cars, bicycles, and in this vid, a lawn mower, but most garages have plenty of other things. A Motorcycle (others have been demanding it), and whatever other crap you find in a garage. Don't forget the garage itself. The roof, walls, door, yes, even the concrete floor!
I could use this shredder at my apartment building on NE Lombard in Portland. Practically all of those items have appeared outside our dumpster which is perpetually too full to put any of our garbage in.
While sofas and other furnitures are understandable, running all of that through the shredder makes it a nightmare for sorting. All this mulch pile is good for is the EXTREMELY eco-hostile incinerator.
Recycling eh? For starters, a skip load of mixed shit like this is separated out BEFORE being shredded. Practical for hard waste like the sofas and wood. Refrigerators, lawn mowers and other large appliances CAN BE FIXED. I call that part a waste
It's sad that appliances are so disposable these days, my refrigerator, oven, and dishwasher are 25 years old, and everything still works great, while my neighbor's refrigerator is 5 years old and has been repaired twice. Sigh.
your clean up people deserves a bonus soon hehe :)
Run shredded waste through a smaller grade shredder.

"Shredder smoke. Don't breath this!"
Sweet! They included the railroad tie!
Seems like a hell of a mess to clean up when they could easily put a dumpster under that thing.

I have been watching things get shredded for 2 hours. It's like a drug.
Would be cool to see the results of the rough shred be fed by conveyor in to a finer shreddder as well, just to see if volume gets reduced further.
Yea Mega WIN - this is my weekly highlight in life

Many appliances can be fixed, but the price versus age, rules out repair.
Makes no economic sense to stick $250.00 into a fridge that is 8 yrs old.
Bob Smith yes that does apply to generic stuff. Although it's the expensive makes that I see a waste
It's sad that appliances are so disposable these days, my refrigerator, oven, and dishwasher are 25 years old, and everything still works great, while my neighbor's refrigerator is 5 years old and has been repaired twice. Sigh.
