if this helps anyone its easiest to do pick up in the drop off zone. on the bristol airport website it says the drop off zone is exlusively for departures but its not. you can pick up in the drop off zone no problem just make sure the people you are picking up are waiting because you only have 10 mins which costs £6.

It used to be free to drop off/pick up someone if you stayed under 20min. £5 for 10min, often more if you have to wait to exit. Free drop off/pick up would go towards improving the Airport's reputation.

The airport was not value for money. Security was understaffed so extra waiting time there, club lounge was closed, parking drop off and pick up fees put the final nail in the coffin. I'll do everything I can to avoid flying from Bristol again.

Parking facilities are day light robbery, £5.00 for drop off and probably the same for pick up. I picked my wife on the road at the front as she had difficulties walking, recovering from a broken ankle and couldn't walk to the place I dropped her off at a presumed cost of another £5.00 and got fined £100, £60 if paid immediately. This is about as obscene as parking fees for staff at hospitals.

What is the name of the company operating the ANPR vehicle?

It's VCS, Vehicle Control Services. The Road Safety wording on the side of the van breaches the CCTV code of practice with regards to covert surveillance. The company issues £100 parking charges like confetti. At Bristol Airport they took a motorist to court for stopping in a queue of traffic at a car park entrance when the barrier was down, and to a motorist who stopped at a give-way sign at a roundabout. The motorists won each case. They also issued a charge to someone stopped on the drop-off approach road. In all three cases the vehicle was outside the area that they are contracted to operate. They also issued a charge to a motorist who stopped at a Stop sign at the airport. Outside the airport they are no better, issuing charges to vehicles parked on a public road. They lost that case in court as well. Sadly, far too many people pay up when they get a parking invoice instead of fighting it. The airport, owned by a foreign investment company, never get involved, and the sub-contractor who operates the airport believes VCS are wonderful, despite what the rest of the motoring public thinks.

@@ianchesterton7794 they are a private corporate entity and are required to prove the obligation to pay. They do not follower Observance of Due Process of Law www.legislation.gov.uk/aep/Edw3/42/3 or the Bill of Rights. www.legislation.gov.uk/aep/WillandMarSess2/1/2/introduction
Do you know what, if any law they rely on?
There are also Data Protection breaches here too.

@@opbrandambassador They are unregulated and do what they want and get away with it unless challenged. The majority of motorists don't know enough about this rogue industry and many just pay up. Hopefully they will be reined in when the new mandatory parking code of conduct is introduced.

I travel a lot for work and Bristol is the most rip off airport that springs to mind. Don’t forget it’s £2 for a luggage trolley
