Thank you for sharing! I want to attempt a cake topper with chip board and maybe mod podge some glitter on it. Most chipboard tutorials where large shapes but I wanted to see if it could be done with lettering like this so this was very helpful!
I know this comment is a few years old but so is this video. Considering the creator never responded I found this video that was similar. Hope this helps. ua-cam.com/video/hrcbbke_mQw/v-deo.html
Hi, this is very helpful tutorial. I have been thinking of making one like this for my son's baptism. Just wondering if I wamt to make one like this but bigger, is that possible? if so, do you have tutorial for it? Thank you so much
I’m so glad it was helpful. You are limited to what will fit in the Maker so this is as big as you can go. I also make wood signs with my laser machine and can accommodate much larger designs with that.
Great video - but really happened to your brand new green mat? Did it get cut thru? Or just the surface? I don't want to have to buy a new green board for every project!
I have had terrible results with chipboard and I’m very familiar with using the Cricut. I left it to cut overnight some letters for a sign I was making. When I woke up the board was practically shredded to pieces.
How thin were the letters you were trying to cut? They need to be at least pencil width thick. Was it a new blade? Did the project shift o. The mat when cutting?
@@mlastudiodesigns6979 they were not thin at all and not terribly intricate. It was a western-style serif font that was set at about 150 pts. Design Space said it would take 24 passes so I left it overnight. The cuts were not accurate and they actually shifted about 1/32 of an inch--this was AFTER calibrating the knife blade also. Wish I could send you a pic of what it looked like.
I tried mine today and the knife blade did not cut all the way through. It did 24 passes and took 1 1/2 and only a small portion cut all the way through.
Same....I've been struggling cutting chipboard, basswood & balsa wood with the maker & knife blade. I think the deep cut blade & explore 2 did a better job cutting these thicker materials, tbh.
Your design has to be at least a pencil width thick or else the blade will shred your material. Email me a picture of your design. Mlastudiodesigns@yahoo.com
I notice you use the standard grip mat. How come everyone else uses the strong grip mat? I don't really want to buy a strong grip mat if I don't have to.
Hello! your video was informative for me as I am a new Maker owner for 3 months now. I have been experimenting with my knife blade and have been disappointed with the results which brought me to your video. I noticed on your settings, you had an Intricate cut for the chipboard. Did you make that yourself or was it on there already? I did not see it on mine.
Katie baker sorry for the late reply. I did not hav the project set to intricate. Your overall project cannot be less than a pencil width thick or it Will shred your project.
What size wood you can use for the blade to use?
Can you show us how you created this? I would like to make something similar for my daughter's senior luncheon
Well done! Thank you !! I would love to see a video on cutting letters on cardstock and then applying on paper.
Thank you so much for sharing this video!! 🤍 Very helpful!! 🥰
You’re welcome!
A recently purchased a cricut maker and my option for heavy shipboard isn't available any help?
Do you have a video on how to make a picture puzzle using the 2 mm chipboard?
ciao!
volevo farne uno con la scritta buona pasqua, come faccio a crearlo?
oppure dove lo trovo?
help me

I made a cake topper for my daughters wedding. I’ll have to see if I can find a picture of it.
Can you show how you created the design. I been trying to do one with my name and I can't figure it out. Thank you

These would make great chargers at a wedding
Excellent idea!

Thank you! It was just the surface.
Hello! Would I be able to use the same setting and material wood for the circuit air explore 2?
Hi there, the explore air 2 does not have enough pressure to cut through the chipboard.
Would the Maker cut a design like this in chipboard more quickly (with fewer passes, etc) if I used my black deep cut blade?
Kay Zoretic you need to use the knife blade with the maker to cut the 2.0mm chipboard so a deep cut blade will not work.

Hi there what's kind of chipboard or brand do you use please?
Hi there, I used Cricut 2mm chipboard. You can order at Cricut.com
@@mlastudiodesigns6979 thank you so much 😉
Hi what font did you use?
Did you ever cut 3 mm yet? Curious.
For some reason knife blade doesn’t come up as an option on our machine. Do you have any advice?
Judith Dilworth hello Judith. The knife blade only works with the Cricut Maker. Is that the machine you are using?
Thank you. I’ve been trying to cut the board and my knife blade broke twice. I stopped trying because those knife blades are expensive.
I’ve had that happen in the past too. No fun.
does anyone know if the cameo silliute can cut something like this?
My basswood keeps breaking, no matter what I do. How can I stop wasting materials? What am I not doing? What am I doing wrong?

Great job
Thankyou!!
New subbie, I love your channel and your teaching wow
My maker does have the option for that material why

Kim Bradford I used a new standard grip mat. It works just fine for me
Did you leave it or paint? How did you use this project?
Myca Pierce I left it as is. You can paint it though.
Myca Pierce I hung it with ribbon and used it as decor at a baby shower.
Super cute idea.
Hello, is there somewhere we can purchase this template?
Dionne Easton hello, I created this design myself. It is not for sale at this time.

A onde compra essa máquina ?
Aurea Soares I bought the machine at Michaels. You can also buy from Cricut.com. It is called Cricut Maker
It will take 2 hours and 24minutes to cut this?😳😲😲
Yes ma'am
Hello do you speak french ?
Hi there,
I do not. :)
Very nice review and job . Like and subscribe 👍
