  • The Bluetti AC200MAX Solar Power Generator is supposed to be one of, if not the best power supply on the market today, but after a month of testing, I not feel that that is the case.

I have the bluetti AC 200 Max with two b 230 batteries for a couple of years now. Works pretty well with a couple of problems. Problem number one the Bluetooth only works part of the time. I have to reboot the entire system to get it to work again and then it fails after a few hours. Second problem is that I can no longer turn on AC output through the touch screen. Clicking AC on does nothing on the touch screen. I can only turn it on through Bluetooth which comes like I said, only works part of the time. If Bluetooth fails the system will be dead in the water. I contacted customer service and their recommendation was to ship it back to them and they would " take a look ". As long ago disposed of my boxes and have no packaging in which to ship the unit back so I'm living with The issues for now.

Hookup a real single 550w solar panel and see how fast it charges. Not a whole bunch of portable mixed and matched stuff. I have this Bluetti and it works great.

Clint, you can't be raggin' on the ol' Bluetti! That's not real nass like! lol. I pre-ordered the AC300/B300 combo in Oct 21. It's basically the big brother to this one. There are a lot of similarities and a few differences. You're definitely right about the screen. It's not great, but I do have piss poor vision. I'm not a tech person, and have only added 9 apps on my phone (I've had it for 19 months) but I added the Bluetti app and I actually like it- i.e. I haven't got mad and thrown my phone. Yet! As far as charging, mine doesn't have the brick, they built all of that into the unit, which weighs approx 120lbs combined, so I don't have to deal with that. When I plug mine into a AC outlet at the house, It charges at 1600-1800 W. It gets to 94% fairly quick, but that last 6% takes a while. I believe there are options in the settings that you can adjust the charge rate. You might check into that.
I bought 2 of their 200W solar panels and have mixed feelings on those. The highest charging input I got was 350 ish watts (out of 400) with both plugged in- one input, but you can daisy chain. I can't reference other brands of panels as I don't have any. I re-watched what you said about the other brand solar panels, etc. I believe I read that Bluetti didn't play well with others before I ordered mine, so I expected the results I got. That's awesome that you call them out for it on this video.
As I mentioned, I usually don't give a rat's ass about wi-fi/blue tooth, blah, blah, blah. But most probably do. You mentioned you get 50 ft with the blue tooth and that's it. I don't think I've ever gotten that far when I had mine in my shed.
Anyways, brother, gotta some whiskey I gotta drink! Thanks for you dedication, Clint.

That was a very honest fair review. I think they fixed most of those issues (except the screen) with the AC300. I bought the AC300 +(2) B300 + (2) 420 PV kit and love it. I can put up to 2,400 watts in the unit while charging it up also. I do have one complaint about the AC300, those damn 1 inch thick cables that have to plug straight in from the unit to the batteries. They literally stick out over 18 inches and waste space. You cannot bend them without damaging them I don't think so I'm not going to try. They should make some flat attachment cables somehow. I just installed a transfer station in my home and believe it or not we had our first power outage in 4 months that evening. It was for less then 2 hours but my 6000Kw batteries ran all 120 volt systems in my house using 25% of my battery so I was happy. Those transfer stations are the way to go, you don't have extension chords all over the place.

With the charging enhancer you can charge with both AC adapters. You can also charge with another set of solar panels if you wanted to play mix and match like you’re talking about doing. Your 200 watt panel can go in the XT90 adapter and your 100 watt goes into the Charging enhancer. It’s actually very versatile from a charging perspective if you pay the extra $200 for the enhancer. You should update your review to reflect that otherwise it’s not an honest review.

It is an outdated product, you have BLUETTI AC200PL, it's better in some regards, like having WIFI, noise-free, 2400 AC charging. But it's also much more expensive, you can look up for other brands as well for that money. It stil has only one DC, but I think having 2400 charging is sufficientt
I still keep my AC200max, because I use it in Ukraine in a flat, it's on my kitchen with a chord, so I don't hear it and don't care much about the hum. It charges around 1000 with 2 bricks, but if outages will be longer it might be a problem, as we expect only 2 hours of electricity in the winter
I don't use solar panels, as in Ukraine we have a grey sky like 3/4 of the time or so. I also don't transport it, and the screen is not an issue for me in my flat
So I would say it works, charging is ok for now. For 1k it's a greet purchase (now it'
s like 1,5 due to increased demand, I also purchased it for 1,5k in as relatively high demand period. But it was also around 4k here in late 2022), BLUETTI AC200PL comes for 2k, which is much more expensive to justify such expenditures. Yes, it has UPS, but it's only 20 ms, which might not be enough for PC. SO what's essential for me is fast charging, but paying 2x for that is too much

  • @sloanNYC
    @sloanNYC Рік тому +3

2 years ago it was pretty great, but in general people need to be aware that 2048Wh is not going to last long if you are pulling 2,000 watts. You can add more batteries but they are VERY expensive. The app is still garbage... and outside, you aren't going to see the screen... I don't ever charge it via the wall, but it wasn't great even then at 500 watts and don't undersell it, that power brick is LOUD. For solar, 900 watts is great... their plug is weird because they use it for a variety of applications. I've had no issues using 600w of Renogy solar panels with it, so I'm not sure if you are wiring up your panels oddly. For the price, the output is great, battery capacity is really good, and 900w solar is great in this price range.

The only issue I found so far is that charging brick makes fan noice even if the battery at 100% already, meaning it makes sound always when plugged in. So keep it in mind if you intend to use it as UPS. Looks like the idea of the device is to only plug it when you need to charge it and unplug when it’s fully charged ::shrug::
But anyway I enjoy it, russian shelling made electricity outages a big pain in ass here, so many people start to explore the options. Greeting from Kyiv

Something is fishy here. None of the other reviews I've seen show this power station not playing well with other brands of solar panels. They are getting similar charging rates (900W) with what was posted by PrecisionGroupYT below. There is a lower charging input limit of 35v and upper of 150V, so perhaps you didn't have enough panels in series (depending on their output), or I've also seen people lose charge input when the panel output was near the upper limit, then it became colder outside, so upper input voltage was exceeded thus shutting down charging for that period. You might have a point about the inconvenience of a separate brick for wall charging, but these power stations aren't light to begin with. Ah well, different strokes.

Fair review. I think when this unit was released over 2 years ago it was arguably the best in the market for a brief period. Back then EcoFlow had a competing product that offered only 1/4 the battery life cycles. But 2 years is an eternity for these things.
They must agree with some of your comments because their newer, smaller offering has made improvements to the AC charge cable, solar input connections, etc already. Hopefully an upgrade to this size is just around the corner.
At least price has dropped and they seem to frequently discount the price further so it’s still a reasonable buy for some folks. Use case is everything with power stations. Lots of good options out there.
