I know I did. Haven't driven since 2/14. I still have the inkling to drive the weekend here and there. But I stop and the that I'm not really making money.. and it's dangerous to drive rideshare these days 🙅🏿♂️
Don’t quit. Use the TOS to their advantage. Do a decline Now strike. Decline all rides that aren’t $1.50/mile. Decline rides that aren’t $2/mile or even $3/mile. The AI system will be forced to re-price rides to fit drivers needs. Driver have the power to create their own markets. The markets are the way they are because drivers take offers below $1.50/mile. Uber/Lyft will look for the cheapest way. It’s business. Show them the cheapest way is the driver way by declining BS offers. Decline, decline, and decline till every driver has a 1% AR…That’s when Uber/Lyft began to face bankruptcy and raise fares for the drivers in the form of surge, or higher offers. Driver did this to themselves. Drivers can free themselves of this BS with a simple decline button.
Uber/Lyft can’t afford to spend money on lobbyists, law suits, or new products without making profits. Profits come from drivers taking offers. Decline offers hurt profits. No profits, creates bargaining power for drivers. Decline all offers not above $1.50/mile and watch in just two days, how offers increase. Watch less money being spent on lobbyists and politicians. Watch driver pay go up and up. Decline. It’s in the TOS that drivers can decline all offers they wish if they don’t suit their needs. So what do drivers take low offers? Who can they blame if they took the low offers? Decline Now!!! $1.50/mile of decline. All rides will end up short rides and surge will increase driver pay. The AI will raise offers to lower the surge or eliminate the surge. Drivers will have fair pay. Decline if you want fair pay. Accept the low fares if you are the sell out of the market
That’s the illusion. While you take lower pay to try and make the bills, your pay will get lower and lower with each low ball you take, until it’s not enough to pay your bills. So all you are doing is delaying your own destruction. You working longer hours now. So drive less by declining. You will sit just as long and make the same in the same amount of time. I work everyday. Since they only count active time, I’m working 18 hrs sometimes. I sleep at home with the app on. I use apps that allow me to set filters. Mystro lets me auto accept and auto decline. It gives me a voice notification saying ride accepted. I’m trained to wake at that notification and wash face and exit house and garage to do the trip. Not saying you should do this. But during the times you are not working, you can sit at home without intentions on driving, and decline rides that don’t match a driver minimum. Imagine 1,000 drivers, declining rides that don’t meet the $1.50/mile. They do it during the times they don’t drive, dropping their AR to 1% or less. Then when they do go out to drive, notice the difference in the offer amounts. They will be slightly better. So each day this goes on, offers get slightly better and better, until you can decline on the days you work, and increase offer amounts slowly until your AR begins to climb. This is how we work in our market. We have surge almost all the time. Only downside is our surge doesn’t help except to reach our minimum rate. Each surge only creates $1.50/mile. However, we have surge for hours at a time. So we have controlled our market, and managed to pay our bills at the same time. Note: with every new business, only a handful of full survive beyond their first year. It’s a system designed to keep everyone except those who really are businesses out of the club. Independent contracting is a business. Not a job. Filling it with drivers who don’t operate as a business will result in business failure for those drivers. Rule of thumb. You charge as much as the market can bear. Uber will pay as much as the driver market can bear. So if you can’t bear it, decline until you can or die as a business
The fact of the matter is that there's one political party that's blatantly against anything and everything that will actually help the working man. The other party tries half-heartedly, sometimes.
There's a reason neither party when they have the majority solves any problem. They seek power. If helping you furthers that along so be it. But trust no one is trying to help you if you work and pay into the system.
It just seems like another politician was bought out. These companies are mega billion dollar companies. Why they do this to us Drivers is beyond me. We're just trying to make an honest f****** living and be paid right for it!!
What in the name of God are you talking about my God so you’re saying once you have a concealed weapon you’ll just start shooting people what are you talking about?
Unfortunately, that's never going to happen, and there's no way a boycott would help because there wouldn't be enough people willing to do it. Sadly, unless it's affecting them in a negative way directly, people aren't willing to give up convenience and comfort to fight against most major corporations and their greed.
All it takes is one day of declining to affect their AI price models. In two days, like taking two days off and just decline all day…the market will be affected. Surge will happened, fares will raise to meet the supply. It’s like holding a stock and not selling it. It attracts buyers who want the stock. Stock prices go up till sellers break and sell. So decline all rides that are not what drivers need to make profit. Every market is different. So decline, decline and decline on the days you simply don’t work. Then decline on the days you do work till an offers fits you. Make a standard that all drivers can agree on. Drivers will decline all rides that are not $1.50/mile. Simple yet highly effective against Uber/Lfyt. Ignore quest, bonuses unless it’s added to the $1.50/mile. Trust me, you will change your market in two days. In two days, people can’t get to work, can’t get to appointments, can’t move around your market. Uber/Lyft does hundreds of million in rides. You hurt them big time and drop their stock value to the floor. They risk bankruptcy if a week of pure declining by drivers happen. Drivers are the supply side of supply and demand. Riders are the demand side. Without either, there is no market. Drivers have the power written in the TOS…please decline and create the market you desire and ignore these unions and politicians BS. Decline….DECLINE!!!!
Depending on politicians to legislate new laws when corporations have deep pockets to pay them off is not the best way to win. Hurting these app companies financially and with bad publicity is the best long term solution. Drivers have the wheels and we can help sabotage the situation by informing the riders how little of the take the drivers make on the fares. Ask the rider what they are paying? Tell the rider what you are making. Drivers can hold government accountable if any laws on the books are being broken by these app companies. We can sue them through the courts. Drivers can work for these new apps starting up that pay better or drivers can set up their own car service company and make more money for themselves in the long term. There are many different ways we can fight these app companies. Depending on just government to solve this problem isn't the only way to fight the problem.
