thanks for the helpful video Eric, Im wondering if advancing my stator 2-3 degrees will be noticeable while having msd and racing flywheel ? thanks again
You need to be careful the msd is advanced and some aftermarket flywheels are also advanced. I'd recommend putting a timing light on it first. I will be posting a video soon on how.to do it
@@B99H contact jetinetic with the part # and ask if it's advanced ( some are) still I ALWAYS RECOMMEND checking timing on setups that are already advanced. It's very easy to go to far and hurt someth
It's always safer to see exactly where you're at when mixing different manufacturers. It's easy to end up a few degrees more advanced than initially planned.
Those stators should have a stock timing mark from factory right? Because I ordered one from jet unit and it doesn’t have a timing mark I tried to match it but it’s off runs a little not smooth at all and won’t rev without backfire
mark. I just rebuilt a 62t engine plus the carbs. I had to replace the original stator cause the plate was cracked. the new one had no marks for timing so I lined them as close as I could in comparison w the old one. when I start the ski it instantly starts and idles perfect but it bogs with any throttle input. if i choke it and rev it doesn't help. I can see fuel in the carbs from the boosters too. does this sound like a carb issue or could i have the timing off too far?
pretty cool stuff ill probably end up using this. quick question, you know if any exciter coils would work ok my 300 like a 440 or somethin? can't find any 300 stators under 250 bucks
Thanks for the reply! Sorry, don't mean to be dense . . . by "matching" do you mean the original score/scribe mark should be aligned with the center of the arrow cast into the case? When I took it off it the score mark appeared to be slightly advanced from that arrow. I'm replacing the engine on a Boston Whaler Rage jet boat. Original motor was a 61X, I'm putting in a 62T dual carb. Stator/Flywheel and CDI will still be the original 61X. Thanks SO much for all the help you provide on here!
Yeah. More power 2 big things to increase power is timing and compression. You can advance a stock ski and still get nice gains in performance. But to much and 💥💣
Hi , I have rebuilt a VXR Pro 1994 61x with the excellent tutorials from your videos. The initial problem was a broken reed. So I decided to take the whole engine apart and clean plus rebuild from scratch. New Stator, piston heads, new starter, full gasket rebuild kit. All back together today and started no problem and idles great BUT it wont rev up. When I increase the throttle it sounds as if it is getting choked and the revs decrease. I thought it might be the timing so I checked the stator again . I also cleaned the carb. Pistons have the arrow to the exhaust ports. I am scratching my head here, out of ideas, any help would be greatly appreciated. Regards Brian - Ireland
@@EricksonMachinePerformance It was the new Stator. Still dont know why. the ohms resistance on the coils was 1 ohm greater than the original . Thanks anyway for your assistance.
Im completely new to jetskis and these videos are a life saver! Have had great luck working on my 94 vxr pro 701 thanks to these videos!
I love to hear that. Thanks for the nice words!!
great little trick thanks for sharing 👍

Unfortunately some of the cheap after market ones do not. Your best bet is to either buy a new OEM or or a good used one.

Did you ever figure out the problem? I have the same exact issue and don’t know where to align the stator...
I'm sorry I didn't reply to this. it was the after market stator causing the issue. bought a used yamaha stator and it rips now. thanks
erandy 02 thanks! Just ordered a used aftermarket one as well, keeping my fingers crossed that it fixes the issue! Ready to rip it on the water!

Unfortunately I'm not well versed in Kawasaki 300s
What oil do you use in these engines and how much?
These are 2 stroke engines. The oil is mixed in the gas
Great thank you. But how do I set it to stock? Replacing an old 650 from a Waverunner 3 with a newer engine from a Waveraider 700.
Match it with the line. Unfortunately if it an aftermarket stator they don't all have the timing mark
Thanks for the reply!

Mind blown and new can of worms open😅

Thank you. This spring I'm going to be making a tuning video going over plug color.
Keep the ideas coming!!
I watched all your video... It's very helpful to me.

Should you run a timing advance with a enhancer? I just ordered one, but it has a 3* advance on it from when I bought it
Depends on compression, riding style, and fuel. But it could be borderline
what is the purpose of advancing the timing? More power? Do you need to have mods to do this?

I have a 2000 seadoo lrv. I replace the motor but I have no idea how to time the magneto? Can you pls help me? Ty
With a seadoo 951? The timing is fixed on that engine so no adjustments needed for the stator

Hi where you located need my jet ski make it faster and better or advance my timing 1993 vxr Pro thanks
I'm in Nj. You can email me Ericksonmap@gmail.com
Where are there any marks to check your timing with a timing light or do you create your own?
There are none you need timing tape and and find top dead center and setup and check
Inch or milimetr
@@SamanSoltani-f7h you can do it either way
Can I run 650 electronics on the 750 motor? What do I need to do?
Yes you can. You have to drill and tap the cases for the stator screws and use the 650 front cover. If you need any help message me on Facebook

Check spark, then go thru the carb

@@antygibbo 1 ohm on a continuity test means weak stator, you want it closer to zero ( like .5 ohms )
so the type is (diam * Pi)/360 but you talk about inches how about cm per degree?
Just do the same thing but measure in cm instead of inches, works out the same
