Carbs, skis, tools, and gearhead talk. Thank you Taylor.
Hey Taylor, thankyou very much for your superjet videos. I'm brand new to the sport and loving every minute of it. Unortunately where I come from, standups are unheard of so your informative videos are incredibly helpful as I try to learn everything I need to keep my superjet running happy!
That’s awesome!! Thank you
Love your videos man! There isn't a lot of people that make step by step videos like you for stand ups, I hope you do more in the future🤘
Great video. Thanks for making it simple and explaining it all in details. Great advise
TC is a hommie. Ive purchased a number of things from him.
Awesome video. Very informative! Thanks from KDW Photos
Excellent video thank you
Awesome video thankyou
Great video!!! I love the step by step instructons. My question to you is what would be the jetting size to start with for a 62t 760 with duel 44s. I have a Ada head with 35cc domes b pipe with a mod chamber and a msd enhancer. I want to say there is a 2.0 need and seat and the pop off was in the 20s but im not positive. I think its the 80 gram spring. The jets i dont remeber. Its been awhile lol. Bottom end its ok it just feels like there is no power from 3/4 to wot. Nothing changes. I just put a tach on it and im going to rip off the carbs again. Id like to know what jets, springs, needle/seat,pop off pressure and what to set the hi/screws to start with in your opinon. Sorry for the long winded comment. I just need help lol have a great weekend
Hi Taylor. thank you for perfect video and skills. can you help and tell where we can buy the pupoff spring and plug which you changed?
Man that looks like an awesome place to work! Don't forget to use JIS bits instead of Phillips on those carb screws.
Hey Taylor, super helpful video so thank you! Do you have any advise for tuning the carburetors when you get your ski in the water? Sounds to listen for, things to feel? Never tuned a carburetor before so I’m a little afraid to mess with it
Generally a bog is lean and stutter is rich
Do you recommend syncing the butterflies with the carbs bolted down tight on the manifold?
Thanks for sharing, great vide! Where would I find the correct spring and main jet for my Carb. Do you guys sell them at TC Freeride? I have a Keihin CDK 40 34 Diaphragm 38 mm Venturi on a 94 Kawasaki 750sx.
Hello, very interesting video. I have 2 Mikuni 40 carbs on my Kawa jet ski. I changed nozzles and gaskets, cleaned everything.... I put transparent hoses to see the fuel. Problem after filling the hoses with a syringe, the engine runs but the gasoline does not arrive (see the little that remains tends to go back to the tank (no suction to the carbs)? I connected the fuel correctly carburetor according to the plan (intake, return, low engine pump)?
THANKS A LOT
How about the spring in between the two carbs is that one removed also or only the one by the idol adjuster ? Thanx
This is a great video. Very professional - hats off to your production team. I'll be installing these t-handles in a 2015 SJ shortly.
I just bought this ski, and it came with a B-pipe and mild ADA head (35cc domes). I live in Reno and ride at elevation, usually about 5,500 ft, but I also sometimes ride in NorCal at about 1,700 ft. Is there any jetting you recommend for this wide range of altitude? I'd rather err on the side of running rich at higher elevations than running lean at lower ones.
Thanks for your content - keep up the great work
I have a set seadoo xp with the 717 motors with duel 38mm mikuni carbs. Could I do this to them? Would make tuning so much easier.
Did you ever make a video how to fine tune these carbs? Thank you
Can u give a link to the springs the T fittings and the high speed jets thank u for the information great work 👌
Great video. Do you not check the popoff pressure with a gauge? We usually do that on seadoo
He is probably so used to these parts combinations (and checked dozens) that he can tell you what the pressure will be without checking anymore.
I have a single BN-38 on my ‘94 587cc SeaDoo. Idles great but I’m falling flat on my face with any bit of acceleration. My Low is 1 and High is 0 (factory specs)…. Would tuning my high speed help with this? I find it odd that the high speed is all the way in or “0” ???
Very good videos. About plug the choke holes. You talk about "plexus" (I think) to plug the holes. What is that?
It’s a 2 part glue and yes plexus is the brand
Do both sides get the 135 main jet? One side is 130 and the other side is 120 stock.
Do you have any jetting recommendation for a stock 89 Kawasaki 650sx at 7000 ft elevation? It’s set up for about 1k to 2k elevation and doesn’t run good at 7k. How lean is too lean for that elevation? Thx
hello very good video, where I can get that manual for Yamaha it would be of great help 😀😀
Great video, thanks. What size drill bit do you use for the plugs?
3/16
I hope you can help me with this problem I m having problems with the carburetor from a 1992 Wave Runner lll 650. I had the carburetor rebuild with a new carb kit and wen i spray it with starter fluid it runs for a few seconds then it stops, I crank and crank it wants to start but no go, so I open the fuel pump side inspected all the gaskets and they seem to be ok, put it back on the engine and still wont run. What do you think about this?, please can you help.
Thank you.
Where can I buy the T-handle adjustment screws you’re using??
So u NEVER need the choke to start? Also, will this mod work on the old early 90s waverunners? Thanks!
Thanks! Just made a testrun with my avon gecko. It has a yamaha engine with this carbs. It was not running wel at speed. Getting no speed at all actually.
I ride at 4,000ish feet of elevation regularly, would the jet replacement be beneficial?
Hello, I'm Gustavo from Argentina, I wanted to ask you a question about the carburetion of my wave blaster 1 with bn38. What is the best carburetion configuration since I have a factory pipe Mod exhaust, Blowsion cylinder head, MSD and v'force reeds. Everything I just added that and I only need the carburation. I would appreciate it if you could help me with that since I do this as a hobby. Greetings and thank you very much
Hey TC, if i set my carbs up this way will the tune be close enough to run on a stock ski
for a while until i can schedule a water tune to dial it in perfectly? Great vid btw!! Thanks dude 🤙
Thank you yes this is a great setup for a stock ski
do anyone know if this carb setup will work with the yamaha xl800 waverunner or do I need to use a different jet setup?
how can i get ahold of you i have an issue with my nautica rib 10 that has a yamaha 701 in it . it was sent to flag ship in florida and the engine was modified . the ski runs great at idle and all the way to mid tthrottle as soon as i get half throttle it bogs right down unless i have the choke close to halfway up then it runs fine. im afraid ill smoke a piston if i keep running it that way. i cleaned it rebuilt it and changed the jets and still got the same result maybe i need to play with the high speed t handle but if that doesnt work i would like to send it off to you.
Hi Taylor, do you think I can tune it with the exact same hi- low setting without the 80 gram spring and 135 jet with a 50-1 gas oil ratio or will it mess stuff up I am new to this thanks!
It’s best you put correct springs in
We can send them

Does the pop off pressure work correct with the stock flame arrestor? 2 screen removed
Yes
Hey TC, after you removed the choke plate arm, what did you use to plug the holes in the sides of the carb body? Thanks!
Plexus epoxy
@@ele-mentalcovers510 Which one? Is the "Plexus MA300" enough? or do I need the expensive "Plexus Bondline MA530" epoxy?
Thanks
I’m using ma 830
hello! the main jet of the two carburettors can be 135
Hello sir I have a question. I have a 1999 Yamaha wave venture 701. Runs great on the water full throttle. But sometimes when u take off it wants to bogg down u can choke it for a second an push choke back in then it will go it's fine. Until u stop again gotta choke it again then it goes great . What's causing this??can I clean the jets mabe some trash. Or does it need a rebuild
Probably needs to be cleaned and rebuilt
can we do these mods to a wave raider 1100 triple carb!? please let me know interested in possibly shipping it out to you and having you do it for us
Same here.
Here's what's nice about removing the choke plates if your fuel-air mixture ever gets off for any reason the engine will death rev you have no choke to stop it and you can blow your motor good job

Should i run 40:1 with this carb set up or 50:1? Thanks

Hola hice todo lo del vídeo y mi moto solo arranca con el aire avierto
How much does it cost to rebuild dual mikuno carbs?
$500 including ultrasonic cleaning
Those screws for the jets cover aren’t Philips screws their jis ( Japanese industrial standard) they look similar to Philips but have a slightly different contour
What was the point of drilling the copper plugs out?
So you can put tee handles for tuning
@@taylorcurtis9028 i have a single 44mm carb would i just insert the new t head in the original slots or would I still have to drill the copper plugs and what would I do with the old slots?
@@taylorcurtis9028 nevermind just took a look at my single carb and it doesn't have those plugs
@@taylorcurtis9028 really good info throughout the video, do you still recommend the spring and high needle change for this carb?
@@legitmaster8 44 comes with adjustable screws
Just tried this setup on my stock SJ and it was waaay to rich. I think pop off is too low with stock intake vs the aftermarket filters
You have another problem, either internal circuitry is dirty or weak ignition
@@taylorcurtis9028 Thanks for the reply.
I just put the stock carb setup back on and it ran way better but still not 100% right.
Almost felt lean when running slow and stabbing wot vs it loading up really bad with the 80g springs/135 mains.
I doubt it would be a dirty circuit as carbs were cleaned in an ultrasonic tank before install.
@@taylorcurtis9028 With the 80g springs/135 mains I would barely get on plane/build speed it was so rich, after dialing in the mixture screws it was better but still loaded up really bad.
After putting the stock springs/mains back in and doing the same run; it wouldnt load up but when I would stab wot it would hesitate for a second and go
@@taylorcurtis9028 I had the same problem today. My ski was running like crap so I cleaned the carbs a bunch of times. I figured I'd try this jetting because TC isn't just some guy on a forum it probably works perfect. Still worked like crap. Tried new ignition wires and it worked perfect. I got a little cocky not grounding the plug wires when cranking it. I forgot to turn the gas off and my engine filled with gas a couple times and I was pissed off and in a hurry. Just let it crank and fried the wires. Didn't think it would matter for a couple times. Thanks Taylor you helped me to not have to screw around as much.
@@taylorcurtis9028 Think I found my problem. I used a set of carbs from a 96 62t 701 and both mixture screws are a different taper vs the set in my 05 carbs. Reinstalled the carbs with the 80g springs/135 mains and it was much better after playing with mixture a bit more
Those are not Phillips head they are Jis! If you use jis you won't strip them.
Hey why are your hands so messed up like mine
Because we work 😜
