I like the idea that the Shardspeaker reflects and manifests the things insecure people hate about themselves, or reflects and manifests things overly secure people take pride in, as a form of distraction and demoralization on the battlefield. If I could return a question: How do you think different sybarite cults would be like in the different realms? I had an idea for Slaanesh cult in Ghur that loves the thrill of the hunt so much that they antagonize other forces into hunting the hedonites themselves, only to whip around and slaughter their would-be trackers.
I did an entire army (Invaders Host) writing pages of background about my blade-sect and his master, the Lord of Pain Sinaz the Whip-Tongued and his personal twins Shardspeakers, from Ulgu as their subordinates. With new guys becoming Hellstriders or Blissbarbs, those who prove themselves became Myrmidesh, then Slickblade Seekers or if they truly shine they get the honour to become his bodyguards of Symbaresh Twinsouls, the entire blade-sect (the Screaming Pleased) seeking patronage from the Keeper of Secrets Dravesha Goldeneyes....it has been an hell of fun
At 2:50, notice the woman looking herself on the mirror. Look at her face. But then, do something you might overlook - look at her reflection in the mirror. I love that detail. There is a reason why the mirror is angled so we can see it...
I've had this idea of a Shardspeaker being a top advisor to a free-city governor, when ever a new position within city management opened up the governor would ask the advisor (who we would know is secretly a shardspeaker) to use his/her "gift" to view the applicants for the best possible match. Unbeknownst that the shardspeaker is stacking the deck for a coup that would leave him/her in power as corruption begins to seep into every aspect of the city and its inhabitants blame the governor for the chaos.
Hmm Doug? Did you add some strange noises or instruments behind your actual background music?. I keep hearing this strange sounds while using ear buds. Not kidding. Great video by the way, as always.
So shards can be almost any size. Sounds like a fun conversion opportunity to have a guy/girl lugging around a big shard or even requiring attendants to carry it.
Just as you said I also like Slaanesh more then other chaos gods becuase he/she is not one-dimentional like the rest. Even started to crate a backstory for my chaos character how he became a Chaos Lord of Slaanesh :)
calling the other gods one dimmeensional also isnt quite right. khorne is as much pleased by his berserkers as by the knights in shinning armour that cut them down. Tzeeentch might be the great scheemer and enjoys his followers cunning, but he enjoys it even more when someone appears that can figure out his followers plots and is also skilled enough to stop them. slaanesh is the extreme of all of those certainly, and yes his followers may hail from many different fields, but so do the other gods followers too. not to say that a khornate follower is more complex than a slaaneshy one, no. but it also isnt true that they are one dimmensional.
If I were to list every Chaos God (even the smaller ones), and explain the nuance to each of them, there’s a good chance you’d end up shitting a brick, My friend. Every god feeds on something, and usually *multiple* somethings, each of which connect all walks of life in some way.
Art for this faction is so dope! Something the Old World was lacking in regards to Slaanesh followers
I agree! Thank you for watching :)
@@2Tough for sure dude, you make the best AoS content on UA-cam. Keep it up.
I always pictured shardspeakers shining sunlight into the eyes of the enemy to annoy them.
ooo That could be a secondary weapon haha
I love how rich and flavorful the lore is for the Hedonites. I ordered my own copy from my LGS and can't wait to dive in.

Shardspeakers: "AHH! After ten thousand years, I'M FREE! It's time to CONQUER- HYSH!"

@@2Tough yeah, how dare you not let me enjoy your content on a little bit more accessible basis!
Hahah
Uploading this the day I buy some painbringers and the battletome you crafty git
Since you're doing Hedonite units, what are the odds you do a Syll'Esske video?
I covered them in this one :) ua-cam.com/video/YnT7f9d8ytc/v-deo.html

Like maybe that connotes importance. Nobody wants a guy with an extra small shard
Thats a wonderful idea!

If you had to choose a chaos god to serve, who would YOU chose?

Slaanesh is like the American left except not as demented
