Biggest difference between east and west is top jg. Literally you can argue comp outperformed hope in quarters. Larssen matched yagao as well. But top? No western top was able to match 369 zeus. Heck even BB got soloed by nuguri sejuani as a fiora.

The biggest reason western teams lose against Asian teams is because they fall behind in micro. They get fisted in lane by not trading correctly and that makes everything else harder to do throughout the rest of the game. Even if they do fine during the lane phase they get destroyed in team fights by better micro. The Asian teams are also better at nearly everything else but the micro play is the root cause of their problems
Yes. Even korean SoloQ is full of micro gods, they train 24/7 his mechanics.

@@musab6871 I didn't imply he was bad, but outside of the LEC/EU, he is not an elite top laner. This is just a weakness of the LEC as a whole, as it has been for some time. On the world stage, until BrokenBlade proves otherwise, he's at best within the Top 15 in that discussion, but the region he plays in limits his growth.

G2 wins most games and they also win most games thorugh strong botlanes with a mid and jg to support them. Every top Asian team has thrown like this at least once this season, league just looks messy like this when good teams fall behind or ahead teams get complacent. There's a huge skill gap for sure, but it has nothing to do with "throwing"

I really think they are surfing at EU, but they will need to learn a lot during the international tournament... I felt that we had really messy and poor play offs... So it will depend how much they can learn and develop during the tournament.

When it comes to laning BB is honestly an average EU toplaner, he is great at taking oportunities, but asian teams dont look for windows, they create them by being mechanical, and BB is gonna face reality once again in MSI, at this point, same for botlane, I can´t even imagine G2 trying to draft against teams like T1 when they dont even follow the meta
G2 can go top 8 for sure but top 4 in MSI will be quite the challenge imo. Its gonna be worlds 2022 over again top 4 all lck/lpl. The players there are too insane, which creates better players.
So were RNG in 2019, but if there is one team from the west to rival the work ethic of the Asians, it is G2

Last years G2 was not as good as this G2, they went on a hot streak in playoffs and continued it into msi beating both RNG and T1 on day 1 before imploding.
There is better reason to be hyped for this G2 but it's still early, there's a whole other split to play before msi.
The problem is that this team in particular plays from ahead so much that I feel like they don’t know how to play from behind. If their laners aren’t destroying the enemy what do they do? Like take the game 3 against mad lions. The only reason they won that game was because eloyoya and nisqy threw the game multiple times. That is the only reason I am not fully bought on this team. I feel like they get away with murder and get praised for it. What happens when an lpl or lck team with good macro and laning plays against them. How will they play from behind. G2 2019 were always the team that could play the map beautifully and knew how to play from behind so well. This team has yet to show that

@@soul0172 What exactly am I saying that isnt true tho? LCK and LPL teams have way better macro than western teams (espically LCS). Like BB is actually able to go even/win against all the EU tops, but will probably lose lane hard against the likes of 369 and Zeus. Then you have the botlane who is the only western team that can actually play draven (an early game champ that falls off hard if you can get leads) against arguably the best ADCs in the world in guma, ruler, jackeylove, and Peyz. They rely so heavily on lane leads to press their advantages which they will not get as much when playing against other teams. Then you have their drafting. The fact they could pick 5 AD champs and still win against mad lions says it all. No shot they are able to win in 20 minutes against the eastern teams using drafts like that especially when they are predicated on getting ahead early.
but G2 is literally the best midgame team in EU? every single other team says they just choke you out

I'd like to inhale some eu hopium but unfortunately it's full cope. Asian teams are simply better at the game bcs they just put in longer hours. Even if you put 5 people who breathe league instead of oxygen on a western team they'd most likely fall short bcs the environment in which they play is not on par with the east (competetive and solo q)
and yet, g2 and their "fun" enviroment seems to be the best for western success. You would think a more serious work enviroment would be more optimal, as thats the eastern standard, but apparently not.
Hours is not getting at the root of the problem.
The environment is more naturally competitive. If EU brought back relegation and NA actually built systems for promoting rookie talent, you'd see players putting in the hours from their own desire to do so.
That's the biggest gap, lack of rookie promotion systems and uncompetitive environment.
Look at other esports where West does much better. I bet there aren't as many paycheck stealers and no retirement homes in those esports
