- Reigniting the homebrew swap series, Dave sends us in a wonderful rich beer made with Munich Dark Malt from Riverbend Malting. This is a perfect beer for cooler days.
This beer was rich with notes of fig and brown bread. We really enjoyed this beer. Dave also sent us in some of the malt so we could try brewing with it ourselves.
Tell us about your Dark Munich Malt experiences.
CHEERS!

Hey guys very interesting. I looked up that malt. It's slightly darker than Crisp Dark Munich (20L) and slightly lighter than Weyermann Caramunich malt (38L). Would never have thought to make a beer using 93% of this malt. Keep 'em coming!
Thanks - Yes, the Riverbend malt site had the color in °SRM - converted to Lovibond, it came out to 21°L - Cheers!
Sounds great. I want to do a Barke Munich smash because I’m such a fan of the Barke malts… But I already have ingredients for too many recipes and not enough time to brew them! 😂
I totally get that. We have had a Mecca Grade Estate malt comparison on the list for a long time. Brew on!
Absolutely fantastic guys. Recently bought 5lbs. of this malt from Annapolis Homebrew Supply. Thanks for reviewing it. Keep up the great content. Cheers.
Thanks - I brewed my Eisbock with the pound that Dave sent. Can't wait! - John
Looks great to me. Right up my alley. I’ve heard that particular malt house is solid. You guys are also solid as a rock. It’s been a while but I’m baaaaack! Cheers from Uxbridge.
Rock on! Cheers, Scott!
