Thanks for the video. Do you know of an extension that will also rotate the copied component slightly each time? For instance, I'm drawing a rope bridge with wood treads and a rope passing through each tread. I want to path copy the treads but they're not rotating with the arc of the rope. Thoughts?
When I use this extension all it does is paste a bigger version of the object i'm trying to copy.
very nice tut. Can you also rotate object objects to really flow with the line?
Usefull when doing landscape designing. .... thanks Boss...!
I get so excited when I learn to use a new tool/extension. Thanks so very much, Justin. Man, I'd be so dang lost without you cuz you explain it best!
Thanks very much!
The pathcopy is not compatible with 2020 version PLZ ADVICE
Hi, superb explain from you. And I need how to create a tyre in sketchup. Pls make a video tutorial for us. I hope you do for us. Thanking you
Jason, I love this tool BUT I need to do a similar thing as your buttons segment, only on a sphere. Like rivets on a hull. Any tips?
Thanks for the video. I have an issue where i want an object to follow the line but it changes the direct I want the object to face. EX: An L shaped object the the little part facing east. when using the extension it flips it so the little part is facing west. Think street lights over a sidewalk. instead of over the sidewalk they are opposite. Help?
Thank you (AGAIN!)
THANK YOU SOOMUCH BROO
epic cool finally super important for gardens lamps walls ceilings etc
I used this plugin in conjunction with ms physics to set up falling dominos.
I love this! This will help with my animation backgrounds.
Awesome - glad you found it helpful! :)
thank you so much! i saved like 3 hours of work using this extension
HI, How can you use Path Copy to line up objects on the inside or outside of a path instead on in the middle of the path ?
I don't really understand the question. The insertion point is based on the object axis, so you can change that to affect the insertion location if that's what you want...
This free tool is awesome. It saves a lot of time when I do my assignments!!!!Thanks~
thanx
Thanks, do the objects also turn along the path? Not clear when you used a circular button.
I can't remember - I think they align with the different points based on their axis orientation, but I'm not really sure off the top of my head
THANX IT HELPED ME A LOT
Glad it helped!
i can't use this plugin, do anyone know why?
This is nowhere near enough information for anyone to answer this question
I love this video. thanks for the tutorial. by the way, I am trying to copy a half circle tube on a straight and curvy path but it seems that the half tube were copied on the path but in an opposite direction. can you advise me this?
Have you tried adjusting your object axes before you place the objects?
i wonder if there's a way to have objects rotate along with the path? Say i have a hose for a shower nozzle and want to distribute 1/8" metal rings along the 3d path...right now all the rings remain upright rather than follow along with the path...if that makes sense?
I need to do more research on this - with the free version of this extension, no, you can't control rotation. However, theoretically you can control the rotation with the pro version of the extension, which you can find here - www.smustard.com/script/PathCopyPro , but I've never tried it, so I can't really endorse it...
@@Thesketchupessentials I just downloaded the version from the link you supplied, and it does rotate. In fact, I'm not at all sure how to use it to get the "hanging lamp" distribution as in your video. Will look into that further...
Great Timing, Thanks. Justin. This information is up to date and just what I needed. Now I understand. I have been searching for info for the last few weeks to ado a nailhead trim to a model of a upholstered piece with a shape almost like you are showing here. Finding mostly old tutorials. Welt shape on seam produced lines I could not erase and I knew it was because path line was in sections. Grateful Patreon..
Awesome - glad it helped!
This helped me a lot! Thank you so much!!!!
Great help!
Thanks for the video!! Justin. Can you please make a video of Metro pillars or components of Metro slabs copy along a smooth curved lines.
Wouldn't it basically be the same as what I showed in this video, just with pillars instead of trees?
Great free extension. Great Channel!
