I was practicing riding the canyon twisties today. I was focusing on braking, trail braking, rolling on the throttle and looking ahead, looking to the exit of the corner. But I found myself being lazy and sitting back relaxed at first. The bike was sluggish in the turns. When I realized what I was doing, I adjusted my position, moved my chest up over the tank and elbows up where they belonged. Suddenly the bike was acting like it knew what I wanted and where it was supposed to go. I have to keep practicing the fundamentals until they become engrained and automatic.

Good job realizing that you were sitting too far back and adjusting your position . It makes a huge difference when you get to the point where you can feel that your position is wrong and get yourself to correct it. Nice work!

Hey Daniel, Thanks for all of the great coaching! What about seated position for long road transfers? Personally, sitting in this position with elbows up and out gets tiring really quickly, especially in the wind. (I can ride in the standing position you teach for hours and not be tired at all afterwards.)

That's funny you mention being able to stand for hours. I have the same dilemma, my butt gets sore riding in the seated attack position, but I can stand all day riding. Off road, no one cares, but on the highway at 65 mph I get a lot of strange looks from cars and other motorcycle riders. Standing is comfortable and I can see better in traffic. Maybe we need to start a nationwide campaign of standing up for safety while riding.....🙃

Fantastic videos. Instant sub as I am a fledgling ADVer.
As this vid is "Big Bike Riding Tips", maybe consider doing one called "Huge-Ass Bike Riding Tips".
The T7 weighs in at 450lb wet.
I just acquired the big brother S10 that tips scale at 566lb WITHOUT panniers!
I had hoped to try some easy sections of BDR but they even have a warning on their website:
"All of the BDR routes include intermediate to advanced terrain. If a person is on a large twin-cylinder bike like an R1200GS Adventure or Yamaha Super Tenere, the routes can be very difficult."
    Maybe not a good idea...
I'm going to try all of your great tips and techniques and will wait to hear if you will be doing any clinics out East in the coming seasons. I'd ride to that for sure!
Excellent content, filming, clips, narration, etc.
    Well done!
