Having found out that Rachel has been struggling with depression and anxiety, I think its time to really evaluate how we perceive her and why. I've noticed many people can be overly critical of her, but why? I think she's great and needs more support than she's been given.
I think it's something that's unfortunately inevitable once you become a big channel. New people who don't know her are probably often the ones being rude/mean most of the time (which is pretty pathetic since why would you with someone you don'teven know), and if they're an actual sub who has been here for a while, they're probably very shallow and jealous, or trolling for the attention. Also, she's American, and there's sort of a bandwagon to bash on Americans and stuff they do, or at least that's what I've noticed by people who aren't from the States. (If you've seen comments like... "this is why Americans are x" or "I can't believe Americans do y"). It's all pretty ridiculous though
You're great person Rachel! I learnt a lot from your videos about your experience with Japanese culture. I really appreciate you have helped many people to learn authentic informations which happen to be said in fun way. Thank you for that and just be yourself. It will in the end attract new people to your channel who will appreciate you (and Jun too) because of who you are. And the "critics" will be seen less.
Even when I first joined all their channels. I thought she was great, she was realistic, like when she wasn't over the top happy all the time it seemed real and I liked that. Her dynamic with Jun is adorable and I love it.

My in-laws electric rice cooker does it. (It's not pressurised) I showed my mother in law the magic of not having it stick (water ratio was off just enough when she did it). Father in law refutes and insists on a strict 2to1 ratio. Love the crispy bottom though.
Not sure what it is called in my language but there is an old wives tale in Pakistan that whoever scrapes the pot to eat will have rain on thier wedding. So I decided to scrape the pot and not get married :). esp when it's sweet rice that is being cooked.
I just love your chemistry together. So funny. Sorry about your rice cooker and the pot Nagi knocked over. Lol. My cat knocks everything she can off counters/shelves she can as well. Edit: "If we die tomorrow, well let you know." I'm sure everyone will appreciate that.
do you use in nearly every day though? For many Japanese households, the rice cooker is used every single day. That might be one reason why your family’s rice cooker still works. Also, appliances today are crap compared to 20-30 years ago.... the capitalist market rewards cheaply made appliances because consumers don’t want to spend the kind of money required for quality manufacturing. According to the us bureau of labor statistics, prices for appliances were 20.41% lower in 2020 vs 1997. The consumer price index started tracking prices for appliances in 1997. Appliances costing $20 In 1997 would cost $15.92 in 2020 for an equivalent purchase. The market is forcing those prices down and manufacturers need to cut costs in order to make any margin of profit. If consumers want better lasting, better quality appliances, they should reflect that in the prices they are willing to pay for their appliances. It’s basic economics.
