    Having found out that Rachel has been struggling with depression and anxiety, I think its time to really evaluate how we perceive her and why. I've noticed many people can be overly critical of her, but why? I think she's great and needs more support than she's been given.

    • @hayapatel_
      @hayapatel_ 3 роки тому +145

      I think it's something that's unfortunately inevitable once you become a big channel. New people who don't know her are probably often the ones being rude/mean most of the time (which is pretty pathetic since why would you with someone you don'teven know), and if they're an actual sub who has been here for a while, they're probably very shallow and jealous, or trolling for the attention. Also, she's American, and there's sort of a bandwagon to bash on Americans and stuff they do, or at least that's what I've noticed by people who aren't from the States. (If you've seen comments like... "this is why Americans are x" or "I can't believe Americans do y"). It's all pretty ridiculous though

      do you use in nearly every day though? For many Japanese households, the rice cooker is used every single day. That might be one reason why your family’s rice cooker still works.
      Also, appliances today are crap compared to 20-30 years ago.... the capitalist market rewards cheaply made appliances because consumers don’t want to spend the kind of money required for quality manufacturing. According to the us bureau of labor statistics, prices for appliances were 20.41% lower in 2020 vs 1997. The consumer price index started tracking prices for appliances in 1997. Appliances costing $20 In 1997 would cost $15.92 in 2020 for an equivalent purchase. The market is forcing those prices down and manufacturers need to cut costs in order to make any margin of profit. If consumers want better lasting, better quality appliances, they should reflect that in the prices they are willing to pay for their appliances. It’s basic economics.

      @@ZuuZoor English isn’t his first language so his pronunciation is dependent on a language he already knows how to speak. Japanese doesn’t have a lot of the vowel pronunciation that English has and vice versa. Are you multilingual? Because if you are then your non native language pronunciation probably also sounds different and maybe a bit weird to native speakers. Stop judging someone who is just doing their best. Maybe he consumed a lot of British media when he was first learning and got used to pronouncing some words that way. This is so rude and insensitive!

      @FirebladesSong 3 роки тому +9

      There's also noticing the difference between 'expires on: [date]' and 'best by: [date]'. A lot of people think a best by date is actually an expiration date.

    • @rockercaterrorencountered4924
      @rockercaterrorencountered4924 3 роки тому +2

      Expiration really only matters for fresh things like fruits, veggies, and meats. Preserved things like canned or dried food you can usually tell by a quick smell/look/taste if they're gone bad.
