That sounds great. Didn't sound like 8100 RPM though. The engine didn't sound like it was working that hard. Sounded more like 6000-6500 RPM. I've turned a 427 big block to 8300 RPM before and it sounds "tighter" at that RPM. LOL It's a great car anyway.

468 BBC on motor 9,200 shifts solid roller. Street and strip car I bought good price turn key. 5.13 rear spool, power glide 5,000 stall with trans break, 454 cid 2 bolt main ARP stud kit. Yes I'm aware the 4 bolt block is better but that is what this came with .060" over 2 bolt main ARP stud kit, 14.25 compression, 2 x 1150 carbs on a high rise tunnel ram, fiber glass front end, lexan windows, MSD 7 ignition, race gas. I bought this car turn key nice to turn big RPM's. But I broke some valve train doing it for a while. High RPM's kill are more wear and tear. I'm sure this motor didn't make power to 9,200 probably max 5,900 if that. But on the street it (felt faster and hit harder.) I moved on now to my other car a tamer 572 BBC cid 10.5 compression pump gas more power and torque dynoed @ 4,000 RPM's 700 torque and @ 5,600 RPM"s 710 horse power, solid flat tappet cam non roller. Around a 312 cc intake runner not massive like most think or choose in a 572 cid. On the street I shift at 4,000 now a whole lot less wear and tear. Racing I turn it up more. But I found if you keep the RPM's down when possible the engine lasts alot longer.

That is a beautiful '67....and even though I love LS motors, *a GEN1 SBC WHEN SPUN UP SOUNDS BETTER.* It's too bad that the change in firing order that helps an LS's efficiency so much, comes with a shitty RASPY exhaust note.

Sounds good but imo if you can combo a engine to spin past 7500 rpm (a stroker) 427 small block at that?! It should have a a turbo no question, it'll spool so fast and imagine what that rpm band would feel like.

Please explain the math of this 427cid "small block". What was the base block bore and stroke? How much was it bored out and how much stroke did you add. Also not 8100rpm.
Stock 400ci bore at 4.125 and 1/4" bigger stroke at 4" equals 27 more ci. At 427ci. And yes 8100 in first right before I shifted. Listen again and you'll hear it

I shift it at 7900 and go thru the traps at 7700. Rev limiter set at 8150. Playback tach that day said about 8100. It's built to rev 🙂

I have a 427 ls7 solid roller cammed engine i turn 8000. You can hear the rpm just as you shift out of first gear. Sounds great. What mufflers on it?

Rpm sounded a bit low on that pull. Now a flat plane 5.3 LS with ITB's and a butt load of overlap ramping up past 7800 rpm, that's my kind of bad ass.
