All the singers are in the LGBTQ+. They recorded this as a tribute tot he Pulse nightclub shooting a few years ago. Superfruit (Scott and Mitch) started their own UA-cam channel after PTX took off. It’s a mix of funny skits, awesome playful singing, and a few EPS published separate from PTX with an LGTB slant. They are awesome.
Fun fact: Mario Jose worked for PTX as a crew person, and they found his dream was to be a singer, so Scott and Mitch took him under their wings and taught him how to sing better. They are such amazing, generous people.
This is not true. They were fully aware he was a singer when hiring him. He went to the same school as Matt sid did later. He was on sing off. Sure, they all likely sang together and gave tips but he was a fully well trained singer without them. They jsut gave him a bit of the spotlight he deserved
You have to watch Superfruit's GUY.exe (mad scientist Mitch creates his perfect man - Scott) and Hurry Up! (Mitch and Scott try speed-dating!) Both are amazing and hilarious.
As others have said, this was their response to the mass shooting that was homophobic in intent at the Pulse Nightclub in 2016. All these artists are part of the lgbtq+ community. The resulting song is a stunning favorite. To hear Mario at his best, check out his duet of ‘Lost On You’ with Scott (on Scott’s YT channel). Brian Justin Crum was on one of the talent shows (AGT, I think). His live performances of Creep and Somebody to love are both phenomenal. Hope you had a good day!
Great reaction ☺️, thanks for sharing. Scott and Mario Jose (the one dressed in all black) have a cover of LP's song "Lost on You" over Hans Zimmer's Time (from Interstellar movie) track that is just absolutely gorgeous and genius how Scott even thought to put that song over that track. Blows my mind every time how talented PTX members are together and individually. I prefer this cover of Rise over the original. ☺️
I do believe Time was the Hans Zimmer piece from Inception. But, yes yes yes to aaaalllll of this! Scott is such a proud friend & supporter of Mario Jose. Have you seen a beautiful rendition of Have You Ever by Brandy that is simply put perfection from Mario Jose, Vincint Canady & Matt Bloyd??? OMG.....goosies everywhere!!! If not you should check it out!
YAY Superfruit! I slept on the Frozen Medley for quite a while because, well... I was uninterested in Frozen. You will regret it if you do! It's their most viewed vid at 20m. They're adorable and silly and super talented 🥰
I third this! It's amazing and Kirstie is in it too! And don't forget to watch the bloopers at the end after the Subscribe screen. They're comedy gold.
I'll, um, 6th this & remember, keep watching past the Subscribe screen on most Superfruit videos for the hilarious bloopers but especially Frozen! We'll be waiting for it!
You have to react to Superfruit's 'Frozen Medley featuring Kirstin'. Seriously fun and possibly encouraged by some adult beverages. Also fun is 'Guy.exe' with mad scientist Mitch.
Yay! Your reacting to Superfruit! Loving it! Mario and Scott performing their cover of LP/ Hans Zimmer Lost On You will take your breath away. GUY.EXE is a great Superfruit video. There is so much great content with Superfruit. I so look forward to your discoveries in the Superfruit rabbit hole. You have a way with words. Your descriptions are so good. Thank you for all your great reactions!
I had to go back and listen to this song again after the Deadly attack at Club Q in Colorado Springs, CO this past weekend. This original performance was done in Honor of the victims of the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, FL 5 years ago and Still Hate leads our nation. All 5 performers are a part of the LGBTQ Community.
I'm glad there are others doing this. From what I read, PTX dedicated Amazing Grace at last night's concert to the victims of Club Q. But at times like this, we turn to Rise too. I'm sure Scott and Mitch are hurting like the rest of us.
SuperFruit did several collaborations with other artists. Their collaboration with Toddrick Hall - Black and White is great. Toddrick Hall also collaborated with Pentatonix on Wizard of Ahhs... Kirstie as Dorothy...
Great that you found Scott and Mitche's channel. My fav is the frozen medley they do with Kirsten from Pentatonix and one with Torri Kelly. Both are amazing! It's a fun channel to explore.
Hello Matts Reacts. Impeccable vocals from Scott and Mitch as always. No adjectives fully describe Mitch, his voice or how he makes us feel. Brian, Mario and Mary as guests with Superfruit - just superb. A powerful song, great arrangement and stunning vocals for a cause. You should react to Brian Justin Crum's performance of Creep on America's Got Talent. We saved a space for you down the Superfruit rabbit hole - we knew you would fall down there soon enough - Scott and Mitch (Superfruit) have vlogs, music, music videos, collabs, challenges and barrels of laughs - and deep messages like this song. Your reaction was great.
Beian Justin Crum is amazing on AGT singing Creep. I cannot wait for you to experience Mitch singing Defying Gravity. Your reactions mirror the emotions that we Pentaholics have gone thru when discovering Pentatonix - keep it up - enjoy! Love from Australia.
FYI -- there are three kinds of SuperFruit video. When Scott and Mitch were living together in Los Angeles in the early years of Pentatonix they decided to start a vlog and called it SuperFruit. Most of the episodes were chat, comedy, and UA-cam challenges, sometimes with guests. But every so often they would do a musical vlog episode, doing arrangements of an album or an artist they were currently obsessed with and, as here, sometimes with guests. In 2016, they started getting serious about songwriting, working with established pop songwriters and producers to write, arrange and record around a dozen original songs. In 2017 the songs came out in a two part EP called "Future Friends". They also worked with pop videographers to film full music videos for almost all the songs, with sets, costumes, dancers, etc. The most popular "Future Friends" video is "guy.exe"
Gosh I love your reactions. Ok so Superfruit was formed as a comedy channel by Mitch and Scott once a week while they traveled around with PTX. They filmed weekly from all over the world and in those days they lived together in LA. Well sometimes they would sing and their fans went crazy when they did. Most of Superfruit is funny and of course the singing is great. empire Medley, Anti. Medley( Rhianna). Beyoncé, Defying gravity from Wicked ( wear a seat belt for that one) Superfruit became so popular that they wrote an original, album called Future Friends Every song has a video, and they are all great. My favorites are Guy Exe ( Mitch is a mad scientist) and goodbye from lonely. Probably the most serious Superfruit is this one you are playing as it’s a tribute to LGBTQ+ people murdered at the Pulse Nightclub
Wow, what a great reaction! I got goosebumps watching you react, as the emotions cascaded across your face. Are you a poet or writer? Because the images that you invoked (cold wind across a lake) were fantastic. Can't wait to see you react to more Superfruit and Pentatonix! Btw, if Mitch's high range is something you're interested in, check out Superfruit's version of Defying Gravity.
Wow…Now that’s how to react to that. It just takes your breath away. One of my favorites cover’s from them. So powerful. all of them are. Out standing..Keep up the good work….Judy D from Ny Sate…
Goosies every time. 🏳️🌈🦄💜☮️ Thank you Matt for another great reaction to a powerful collab. I would agree with the others, Scott and Mario’s collab called Lost on You. It’s stunning.
Subscriber from Arizona, here! I am so glad I stumbled on your channel a few days ago. You have very quickly become one of my absolute favorite reactors! As a Speech-Language Pathologist, I have a deep love of and respect for the intricacies of language. Your ability to use words like a paintbrush to convey not just meaning but imagery and emotion as well just elevates your reactions for me. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and reactions with us!
If you're going to continue with Superfruit I recommend their Empire Medley. Yes, it's songs off of the television show Empire ( season 1, I think). No, you don't have to have watched the show to appreciate it. I've never seen an episode in my life and it's one of my favorite things that they've done.
This touches me every time. Every time! I'm sure someone has already told you to check out Brian Justin Crum's audition (I think it was on America's Got Talent... but it might have been The X Factor") with the song "Creep". It's one of those that I like even better than the original, and I was mad for the original when Radiohead first put it out. And I'm one of those who also love this cover more than the Katy Perry original (which I hadn't heard until I heard this cover & then did a back search to hear how she'd done it on the album), and I love a good Katy Perry song. The way these five recorded this made it sound like there was a whole damn choir in the room. The control they have over not only their pitch and tone, but the build and swell and fall of their vocals is just stellar. So glad you reacted to this one. You're awesome!
This video was their response to the Pulse Nightclub shootings in Orlando 6 years ago. 2 nights ago in Colorado Springs someone tried to replicate that horror. This time we lucked out. In Colorado Springs there were two heros who ran *toward* the gunman rather than away, and who actually managed to take him down despite his body armor, so we "only" lost five, with 18 injured. Last night I was at the PTX concert in Denver, where we had a moment of silence. And today I'm feeling a need to revisit "Rise." 😪
I always cry when I watch this. Mary sang with Macklemore on Same Love, then she took her part of that and made a separate video called "She Keeps Me Warm". And it's beautiful Your filter makes them all look like they have bright red lipstick. :D
This was the best reaction to this song I have ever seen ❤ You absolutely MUST check out Superfruit's Frozen Medley to see their hilarious fun side next (and stay for the bloopers at the end), but for another masterclass in giving you goosebumps, you NEED to watch Scott Hoying and Mario Jose sing 'Lost on You'. For Mitch, check out his cover of Billie Eilish's 'Your Power'. Your ears will thank me. 😊
So glad you're doing Superfruit. The music quality is outstanding and the videos are often hilarious. Just make sure you watch past 'subscribe' in most of them as there are often bloopers - not this song, the message was too serious.
Your reaction to this is beautiful. This is so moving and heartfelt from all of them. May I suggest that you do not miss the rabbit hole of Brian Justin Crum. He did Creep on America's Got Talent and I have been a huge fan ever since. His voice is like to other. Love your reactions and am subscribing right now. By the way, I have been a Pentaholic for many many years. Glad you found them.
I want you to know that I love all of these rabbit holes, but I am here for *YOUR* reactions, brother! You are one of the best, if not the best reactor I've seen and you sound like a writer or poet yourself! Thank you so much! My name's Cameron. I'm in South Carolina, in America. I'm an artist, I fumble a little guitar and play Bodhrán (drum) a bit. This is the Superfruit song I would have suggested... Try their version of Gravity. And blurring the rabbit holes together a bit, next time you are feeling down, jump on Pentatonix doing their original Sing. actually, I think it starts out as one rabbit hole, and turns into a warren! 🤣 OH...and you might as well set up one more playlist... Pentatonix Christmas Music! That is some of their most awesome work! We're heading for the holidays and it's about to be the PERFECT time to add THAT rabbit hole! Don't worry, people who make the Grinch look like Santa's favorite helper and loathe the holidays love Pentatonix Christmas Music! Thank you especially for this one tonight. I needed it and I needed your reaction to it. Take care of yourself!
Cool beans!you've discovered Superfruit!!!😃Mitch & Scott are so fun and awesome together!!! They're colab with these other amazing singers is a fantastic rendition of Katy's Rise.😃thank you for the reaction!✌
The recommendation I would like to make is that you listen to Brian Justin Crum singing "creep" on AGT. I think you will se that he just gives chills whenever he sings. This group sound so great together. I wish they could do more.
This version shakes me to the core. It's such a deep statement and invokes powerful emotions within me! Makes me want to kick ass (not beat people up but fight through and come out on top) no matter the situation. Excellent reaction once again!
Oh, I love your descriptions of this!! I didn't know Mary Lambert was NB -- interesting. I really enjoy it when I can find out something new about a piece from a reactor, whether it's something about how the video is made, how the performers are singing, or even a bit about the performers that I didn't know before. As much as I enjoy seeing people's reactions to songs that I love, I like even better when I learn something from them. Well done!
What a heartfelt review, their talent is not measurable it is to vast. I like to think that all those injured and massacred at Pulse that night feel the message and the honor in which they are held. Thank you for your heartfelt review.
Wonderful reaction. I cried right along with you, as I always do when I listen to this. The blend of their voices, the emotion they put into it, that ending!
I just love to see your literal visceral reactions!! Obviously, you FEEL music as I do and I absolutely love to see that in other people. This version of this song is my absolute favorite!
You are so eloquent! Love that you used Mary’s appropriate pronoun. So many songs by Superfruit (and PTX) to love and be mind-blown by. Mitch is definitely a one-of-a-kind talent. I recommend his Your Power cover that he recorded on his roof during lockdown. It’s a rough song with respect to the meaning of its lyrics, but to hear Mitch do it makes it very worthwhile. 💜
Another great reaction! Thank you. Would love to see you react to SuperFruit’s version of The Promise and their Guy.exe ( super fun ). Greetings from Tennessee 🥰🇺🇸
I can understand your reaction to this masterpiece. As you crush big time on Kirstie I highly recommend Frozen Medley by Super Fruit Kirstie features in it, she’s amazing. Make sure to watch the bloopers when you think it’s finished. Then try Super Fruit Defying Gravity Mitch hits a note that will give you more than a Mitch slap you’ll be punched.
Goose bumps upon goose bumps!! O my gosh this is beautiful! My new fight song! I have never heard this before. I was very shocked! I've been watching PTX for years and this is new to me. Thank you!
My only complaint about this so g is that I can't get it on Spotify. I cry every time Mitch hits that high note near the end. Everyone was wonderful in this song. So motivational and empowering. ❤️
Ghost is another great MV!!! A few F bombs but it's not chock full of cursing. The cleverness, professional production & the costumes are about as amazing as the vocal & acting talent!! It's a take-off of Grease. (RIP Olivia Newton John!)
Not to mention the pastel twerking... OH, man, that video is so much fun and SO flipped on its head. video can be found at ua-cam.com/video/dhCeEoixRIw/v-deo.html Be prepared - the f-bomb is right up front during the opening credits. But honestly - it is one of those videos I just cannot stop grinning and laughing. On top of being hilarious, the singing is just excellent (of course)! Also the choreography is really good (and hilarious).
The Club Q assault on November 19th left me remembering all the gay friends I have loved and lost through the years. The first boy I ever dated came out of the closet right after we graduated from high school, and moved to San Francisco, where there was (and I believe still is) a very active gay community. He was still there a decade later, when gay men first noticed that a lot of them were suffering strange health problems. He was probably infected with HIV before anyone even realized there was something they needed to protect against. He didn't make it - no one with AIDS did that early in the epidemic. Then there were the two friends who met the loves of their lives, only to lose their beloved partners to AIDS. One of those friends killed himself. The other lived until 2014, when he died of old age and heart failure, all alone in a nursing home. I was not informed in time to fly out and be with him. The thought of any of those beloved friends, or any of my current friends in the LGBTQ+ community, being in Club Q on the 19th of November is the stuff of nightmares. All these old griefs, suddenly back in my mind and heart due to the murderous assault of one bigoted man on a whole community of good people, and all coming on top of my husband's death in February. The Thursday after the Club Q shootings was Thanksgiving Day, my first since losing my husband. It was a very bleak holiday, for obvious reasons. *This* song got me through it. It speaks to me of defying the odds, and hope, and empowerment - all the things I need most in my life right now. I've downloaded it and put it on my permanent playlist. I don't anticipate that I will ever get over needing this song, sung by these people.
2:50 Brian Justin Crum 4:06 Mario Jose 5:07 Mary Lambert They're all incredible artists, and also all part of the LGBTQ+ community. This was their response to the massacre at The Pulse, a Queer nightclub in Orlando, Florida, in 2016. The description reads: "As music artists we are given an incredible platform with which to reach the world. One of the most inspiring and rewarding aspects of our job is the ability to make a difference in people's lives. In keeping with the spirit of why we pursued ourdreams as music artists, and the positive impact we aspired to have on others, we decided to make this video with some of our closest friends in celebration of the LGBTQ+ community and all of our fans who love unconditionally and see no barriers. For anyone who has ever felt pride in who they are, and for anyone who has ever doubted the power of your own uniqueness, this video is for you. It warms our hearts to finally be able to share this with you!! xoxo Scott, Mitch, Mary, Mario, Brian"
Loved your reaction and glad you loved this! They are all phenomenal on their own, but the dynamics together is pure joy! As mentioned earlier, Superfruit was a fun UA-cam channel with mostly Scott & Mitch, and others joining in, including Kirstie. You really need to listen to Superfruit's Defying Gravity from the musical Wicked...it is fantastic! As well as their Frozen medley, with Kirstin. So much fun and talent!
Thank you once again for your honest, thoughtful and inciteful reaction. You will enjoy the wide array of Superfruit videos…many will make you laugh, some will make you gasp and yes sometimes shed a tear or two.
You have a wonderful talent for discriptive words "a wisp of smoke across a frozen lake" or "Mitch's voice a is as pure as a wet finger circling a crystal glass rim", you should be a writer. It is refreshing for someone to use new adjectives or comparisons to describe. Thanks

Another vote for Lost On You please. You will be blown away by their voices.
Yes… Lost on you will blow your mind, such emotion that is portrayed through such a beautiful rendition
Lost On You is Scott’s genius mashup and arrangement of Lost On You and Hans Zimmer’s Time. Mario José and Scott will move you to your core…
Brian was on agt. Creep was amazing. Mario sang Lost on you with Scott, you'll love that one too
Mario has done some work with Post Modern Jukebox too, and PMJ is another steep rabbit hole to consider.
So much great Superfruit including Defying Gravity, Frozen (with Kirstie), and guy.exe and loads of others
YAY Superfruit! I slept on the Frozen Medley for quite a while because, well... I was uninterested in Frozen. You will regret it if you do! It's their most viewed vid at 20m. They're adorable and silly and super talented 🥰
I second this!!! It’s hilarious and fire at the same time, and features Kirstie! 💛xo
I third this! It's amazing and Kirstie is in it too! And don't forget to watch the bloopers at the end after the Subscribe screen. They're comedy gold.
I'll forth Frozen - it's perfect because it's not perfect - you'll understand when you see it 🙂
Yes!
Guy.exe is amazing! Frozen Medley is also wonderful! Their talent is crazy great!
And after you watch anything funny from Sup3rfruit, be sure to stick around for the blooper reel (or whatever they're calling it).
Great reaction! Please check out Superfruit's Guy.exe and their cover of 80s hit The Promise. 🖤
Welcome to the Superfruit burrough. There is so much to explore, musically and humorous. You will not be disappointed.

You absolutely MUST check out Superfruit's Frozen Medley to see their hilarious fun side next (and stay for the bloopers at the end), but for another masterclass in giving you goosebumps, you NEED to watch Scott Hoying and Mario Jose sing 'Lost on You'. For Mitch, check out his cover of Billie Eilish's 'Your Power'. Your ears will thank me. 😊
Just watch Brian Justin Crumb vids. He blows you away every time, and his ability to sing just to you through the camera is astounding.
So glad you're doing Superfruit.
The music quality is outstanding and the videos are often hilarious. Just make sure you watch past 'subscribe' in most of them as there are often bloopers - not this song, the message was too serious.
Kabooom🤯🤯🤯‼️They are Awesome singers … You’re review/comments always way AweSome too❣️😉😊🤙🏼
Your reaction to this is beautiful.
Love everything Superfruit! This song is powerful.
OH...and you might as well set up one more playlist...
Yes. Absolutely. We want you to react to all of the things! Great reaction!
The recommendation I would like to make is that you listen to Brian Justin Crum singing "creep" on AGT. I think you will se that he just gives chills whenever he sings. This group sound so great together. I wish they could do more.
Brian Justin Crum
Fast forward to 2021
His cover of Kesha's 'Praying" is just wonderful.
This version shakes me to the core. It's such a deep statement and invokes powerful emotions within me! Makes me want to kick ass (not beat people up but fight through and come out on top) no matter the situation. Excellent reaction once again!
Yessss!!!!! More please
Well done!
Can you react to super fruit the promise. Guy exe. Future friends. Also scott hoying and mario jose lost on you
Please check out Superfruit Defying Gravity!
Yes to all the rabbit holes! I really enjoy your reactions :)
Brian Justin Crumb. Watch him on America's Got Talent singing Creep. Unbelievable!
Pentaholics will never steer you wrong.
The singers in order are Scott, Mitch, Brian, Mario and Mary.
Oh my-I am so glad you are doing this!! Powerful!!!
Mitch is just Mitch!
And thank you for using Mary’s pronoun.
This is my go to song when I feel defeated by life. Just subscribed 🙂 from oklahoma
Agree! They own this song now ❤️

America's got talent

You are so eloquent! Love that you used Mary’s appropriate pronoun. So many songs by Superfruit (and PTX) to love and be mind-blown by. Mitch is definitely a one-of-a-kind talent. I recommend his Your Power cover that he recorded on his roof during lockdown. It’s a rough song with respect to the meaning of its lyrics, but to hear Mitch do it makes it very worthwhile. 💜
Dimash is another rabbit hole for you to go down. He is another amazing talent.
OH, man, that video is so much fun and SO flipped on its head. video can be found at ua-cam.com/video/dhCeEoixRIw/v-deo.html
Be prepared - the f-bomb is right up front during the opening credits.
Great reaction..... They kill this cover
2:50 Brian Justin Crum
4:06 Mario Jose
5:07 Mary Lambert
They're all incredible artists, and also all part of the LGBTQ+ community. This was their response to the massacre at The Pulse, a Queer nightclub in Orlando, Florida, in 2016.
The description reads:
"As music artists we are given an incredible platform with which to reach the world. It warms our hearts to finally be able to share this with you!!
xoxo
Scott, Mitch, Mary, Mario, Brian"
I love your reactions! You made my day better!
Love your reaction! I have goosebumps no matter how many times I listen. So powerful!!
This is great. Mario and Scott have a duet “Lost on You” that you should check out.
Goosebumps from start to finish and then some!! Super reaction! ❤️❤️
Mary... They were all contestants on AGT...
SCOTT IS 🔥🔥🔥🔥
The song kind of makes your head want to explode doesn't it? I listen to this daily. I love your description of Mary's voice. Spot on.
Great song!
Thank you once again for your honest, thoughtful and inciteful reaction. You will enjoy the wide array of Superfruit videos…many will make you laugh, some will make you gasp and yes sometimes shed a tear or two.
Love the way you explain what you feel
You really need to check out Brian Justin Crum's cover of Radiogead's "Creep".... it'll mess with your head!!
You are a poet!
You need to check out Brian Justin Crum on AGT doing Somebody To Love and Creep!!
excellent song, and reaction. Check out Brian Justin Crums AGT performance of Creep
awesome reaction, glad I wandered in here. Nice guns btw
Definitely check out Brian Justin Crum singing creep
You have a wonderful talent for discriptive words "a wisp of smoke across a frozen lake" or "Mitch's voice a is as pure as a wet finger circling a crystal glass rim", you should be a writer. It is refreshing for someone to use new adjectives or comparisons to describe. Thanks
There is nowhere to stop...
Amazing talent by all and your reaction was wonderful! 😊
Yes please watch Lost on you X Time by superfruit ⭐️
