Did this update finally fix My Wedding Stories in 2024?!

- Soooo My Wedding Stories recently got a pretty big patch update in The Sims 4 that fixed some stuff that's been broken since release and added a new couple of options/tweaks to control you wedding but did it actually fix this game pack? My results aren't so sure... but maybe I'm just playing wrong lol? I've always said I don't enjoy micro-management in my game

They had to fix it because of funerals coming and you would want the guests to sit nice as well.

yeah i thought so too, no one would buy a funeral pack if it was as broken as the wedding pack lol
Imagine how awful it'd be if you had a funeral for a beloved family member and someone throws away all the food, everyone ignores you asking them to sit down and the priest passed out on the floor

Wtf is in EAs employees food when coding? Why does a funeral mod do a better job at hosting a functional event?
for some reason i left it out of my summary and whilst the autonomy only at weddings seems to be better, i still don’t think this pack works as i expect it to. maybe it’s just because i don’t like the micromanagement so don’t really pay attention to the steps that should be taken and in what order but it still feels like whilst the actual ceremony is happening, sims still just kinda can get caught with issues (shown from all the standing, but that also was bc i clicked the take seats, i just wish those who were already sat continued to stay sitting 😭)
The steady sit mod is essential for things like weddings or dates
Honestly think it runs way smoother after the update and I noticed the difference. I can actually have a proper wedding without the massive bugs it had. Before the update, guests would straight up leave or stand directly front and center while vows were being exchanged. Now they just sit down and take their seats.

@@EnglishSimmer Sometimes this still happens, which is a pain, but the good thing is. it doesn't Always happen, and atleast the pack isn't 100% Broken like it was before. I say this as someone who loves the Older titles, It is unfortunate your sims were a bit odd, but one cannot stop holding out for the hope of it actually functioning. Sims may react to Decorations in the room, and this needs to be disabled in my eyes (Via Sim Role mechanics), but I Can understand when they react due to Motives or Temperature. I Might get this pack, and I Fervently hated this pack for ages. I still expect it to be a bit shonky...but honestly what Isn't with TS4. lol
Checked your video out of curiosity since I own quite a lot of TS4 packs but I don't own this one. After watching your review of this fix and one other review, I have to say My Wedding Stories now actually run a bit better then I expected but I still don't think I'll be buying the pack anytime soon so... yeah, there's that. :D The wedding system still seems pretty tedious and finicky and I don't really prefer this chaos to base game wedding chaos lol. However, I'm glad that EA finally managed to partially fix at least *some* stuff in this pack. People who have already bought the pack deserve it. But thank you for making this vid, it was really fun to watch! 🧡
I bought my Wedding Stories more for the world and BB/CAS than the gameplay. When it was on sale. I did try weddings with that pack but I prefer the basegame wedding. I'm glad the option for that is back.

I think the gather on each side is supposed to be like bridesmaids and groomsmen
I think the wedding cakes have to be excellent quality or better to be able to sell them and yours was Normal, I think. Also, fun fact, wedding cakes are lactose free. You have to use lactose free batter to makes them when prepping ingredients.
Wedding Stories fixed ? Only partly.
Maybe wedding cakes made by your Sims can ONLY be sold to a bakery from the Sim's inventory...
When making any cake for some occasion, IMMEDIATELY put on some decoration on it. Birthday cake ? IMMEDIATELY put candles on it. Wedding cake cake ? IMMEDIATELY put any wedding decoration on it.
The way it works is gather people on either side of the arch. It's how they do it here in America, your groomsmen and your brideswomen stand on each side of the arch behind the bride and groom. So I saw a couple people in videos confused about that. Satch was confused about it too Do you guys not have people stand behind the groom and bride? and it's only the groomsmen and bridesmaids.
we do but they usually don’t stand for the whole ceremony. more just at the entrance and photos/witnessing. otherwise they usually just sit front row. i guess it also just feels weird bc you don’t choose bridesmaids etc in this pack so it’s like they’re standing there for no reason and i’d prefer it if they could just sit on given sides?? it just clogs up the room WAY too much around the arch and aisle
@@EnglishSimmer I totally agree it's weird. Because if you look at any famous movie with a wedding in it you'll see usually two to three people per bride and groom and they usually stand one step below the bride and groom and then the bride and groom stand maybe one step below the officiant or priest or whatever and then when it's time for a vows the bride will give her bouquet to her maid or matron of honor right behind her or below her. And I didn't notice at first but when you were playing I saw where they were standing and they stood below the arch behind where the bride and groom would sit or bride and bright whatever you know what I mean lol. The placement where they stand at is exactly where groomsmen and bridesmaid would go I just say bride and groom because I'm used to it but you know what I mean right? Anyway it is stupid and weird since you can't have people stand behind or whatever in the game It is to micromanagey anyway lol

I see people always dogging on this pack but imo I think people cram too much into one event. When you break things into all of the events it runs pretty smooth. I don't go over 5 things in each event and I have had one or two issues total since the first patch following release. I love this pack!
thank you for this video! despite some improvements, we could clearly see a lot of things that still don't work appropriately. like.. why is the dress code ignored? why did the guests seem to go to the nearest object for toasting instead of the one you called them towards? why was hilary standing on the aisle for so long? while I believe that some issues might have to do with routing issues due to the steps / platforms in front of the altar, I still don't think that this is an acceptable gameplay experience 💔
Ive avoided my wedding stories like the plague. I honestly hope it is fixed. If so ill consider buying it
I got the option to do old goaled event weddings again after the update which rocks
oh yeah i forgot they got completely wiped out!
to be fair i believe you didn't micromanaged enough, it is an annoying expansion pack, but it works if you have the patience to tell everyone to sit down and gather together all the time. this pack works best with some mods but it's not a disposable pack for me at allll, ive had actual fun making my sims marry with the new cute animations of going up and throwing rice, its a core pack for me even if its not the best it could be
Have they fixed the “sims take their seats cross-legged in the aisle” bug? That one makes me see red.

@@EnglishSimmer I’ve had it at a few weddings since HSY dropped. From memory it didn’t happen at the last one I ran (I try to avoid weddings so it’s been a while!), so maybe it was in a patch note and I missed it! 🤞🏻
I don’t think My Wedding Disasters will ever really be fixed ‘cause it’s fundamentally broken.
I don’t throw weddings anymore for my sims. I have them get married at an aisle and then just throw a Reception event afterwards with “Time to Eat” as the only ceremony activity.
I do wonder if these bugs are dependent on the types of laptops U have? Like for mine , before this update the guest did sit down and I could did exchange vows with officiants. The weddings ran almost smoothly but it did have bugs. I wonder if others will have a different experience? Even with dine out for me, it runs smoothly
It's fascinating that we all don't get the same bugs. It's very tricky but the argument is we must say they didn't test. TBH, though, I think MWS is a pack that says tested very little vs the complexity of all the different systems, mods/ cc, etc. I haven't tried a wedding ( no need to since the pack was released. My brother bought the pack, and we share an EA account). I'm considering trying to have a full wedding in my rags to riches LP.
Dine Out also runs smoothly for me.

my sims won’t even get married?! the entire exchange vows interaction is greyed out, saying that the fiance is on another lot, when they’re right there. i literally had to cancel the wedding and get them to elope because it was unplayable. anyone know a fix for this?
I only like this pack cause of the world lol never even bothered trying the actually wedding stuff

I just turn off goals on all my events.
I am still just cheesed that we didn't get vails I play on console and have no cc option 😢
